00:01German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv on Sunday morning to
00:08the sound of sirens and explosions, as Russia had warned foreign nationals and diplomats against
00:14traveling to the city due to the risk of airstrikes. The previously unannounced visit is a show of
00:21support for Ukraine and aims to strengthen energy and defense cooperation between the two countries.
00:26According to German government sources, thousands of intercepted drones will soon be delivered to
00:32Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia launched 135 drones over Ukraine in overnight attacks, according to
00:40its armed forces. Kyiv's mayor said on Sunday morning that a bridge had been hit by at least
00:45one Russian drone, leaving two people injured. Elsewhere in the country, in the frontline region
00:51of Sumi, at least one person was killed and 16 were injured in Russian attacks, including guided
00:57bombs. A UN spokesperson said that some 15,280 civilians had been killed and injured in Ukraine

01:20Latvia's Prime Minister Andres Kulberg's center-right party has won the country's parliamentary election,
01:27setting the stage for lawmakers to begin negotiations to form a government. According to election data,
01:34Kulberg's four-party coalition won with 35.4 percent, securing 42 seats in the 100-seat parliament,
01:43a record for the post-independence history of the former Soviet Republic. The parliamentary poll saw
01:49a voter turnout above 51 percent. Kulberg, who became Prime Minister only in May, said the result was
01:58higher than expected. The result also points to a continued pro-European and pro-Ukrainian cause for

02:21Polls opened Sunday in Bosnia's general election, where some 3.4 million voters are choosing
02:28three members of the multi-ethnic presidency, national lawmakers and leaders of the country's two
02:34entities. Early reports showed voting was delayed at several polling places due to problems with new
02:41digital voting technology. It's the first time authorities are using electronic voter identification
02:47and ballot scanning to curb vote tampering that undermined confidence in the past elections.
02:53Most of the 75 parties running are organized along ethnic lines. The Bosniak Nationalist Party of
03:01Democratic Action campaigned on keeping Bosnia united, while many Bosnian Croats back ethnic parties.
