00:00Week five? It's week five.
00:02Hard to believe.
00:03And it's time for us to go around the AFC North,
00:04and our first stop is Ken Wyman, 105.7 The Fan, in Baltimore.
00:08Remember, all those guests appear on the Wise Heart, right?
00:10We make it right. Call Kyle Wright Hotline.
00:12As they are at Atlanta Sunday night,
00:15the suddenly surging Falcons with B. John Robinson.
00:20Stefanski getting coach of the year votes already.
00:22And Ken, I want to ask you about it here in a second,
00:25but first, is Lamar going to be healthy enough to play?
00:27Hey, that's a great question.
00:30Here we are, deja vu all over again.
00:32Lamar, watch.
00:33My guess is he doesn't play.
00:36I saw him in the locker room after the game,
00:40walking around in shower shoes, essentially.
00:43And he didn't look terrible.
00:45I know he left again, and I saw him leaving in a boot,
00:47but I think that's more precautionary.
00:49A shower boot?
00:50My gut, no, leaving the stadium in a boot.
00:56My gut is he doesn't play.
00:58I don't think he plays.
00:59So it's Tyler Huntley on Sunday night.
01:01Ooh, Tyler Huntley.
01:02Oddly enough.
01:03Wait, have you interviewed Tyler Huntley in a locker room?
01:07In the past, sure.
01:09So am I.
01:10Yeah.
01:11Yeah.
01:11We're Ken brothers in locker rooms here.
01:14We're brothers at arms, the Kens.
01:16So, Ken, obviously, he's done this.
01:17Oh, that's right.
01:18He was there.
01:19Yeah, he was.
01:19Yeah, he was.
01:20Because, you know, he's been there, then away, then back again.
01:25But how confident are the fans that if Lamar has to miss a game or two,
01:32that it doesn't throw the whole division into chaos,
01:36that this could cost them, you know, the divisional championship?
01:41Well, frankly, the fans are not confident at all about this weekend,
01:47if it's Huntley, being the way the Falcons have played the last two weeks.
01:51Because the Ravens' defense has not been, at least as of yet,
01:55what people thought it was going to be under Jesse Mentor.
01:58They haven't clicked yet.
01:59Some of their metrics look good, but I tell you what, I have PTSD,
02:02but the Orioles talking about analytics.
02:04Like, they're not finishing with pass rush.
02:07They're not tackling well.
02:08Well, if they tackled well, they'd be 4-0.
02:11So, they're going to have to score to play with Atlanta,
02:14and I don't think they can score 28, 30 points with Tyler Huntley at quarterback.
02:18Now, if Lamar's in there, they're explosive.
02:21They can score with anybody if Lamar Jackson's healthy
02:24and the way Jay Flowers is playing with Lamar.
02:27But, I think to answer your question about the division, if Lamar misses just one game,
02:32I think they're not going to be happy about them losing Sunday,
02:36but still think they can win the division if Lamar's back for Cleveland.
02:39How do you stop B. John Robinson?
02:42That's a great question, isn't it?
02:43Their offensive line is actually playing really well, too.
02:46Bill Callahan, actually, Dwayne Letford is the Ravens' O-line coach,
02:49was in Atlanta last year, and then Bill Callahan replaced him.
02:52He was the granddaddy of O-line coaches, and they were firing off the ball on Monday night.
02:58You've got to gang tackle him, but he's one of those guys who looks a little like Barry Sanders.
03:02He's moving two ways at once.
03:04Don't miss tackles, and the Ravens have been a team that has missed tackles so far this season,
03:08and he can turn 5 into 50 in the blink of an eye.
03:11Finally, the Bronns are 3-1.
03:13Do you take them seriously?
03:18I have trouble taking Deshaun Watson seriously,
03:21but everything else about what they're doing I take seriously.
03:23I like the defense, and as you know from talking to me every other week, I love Monks,
03:27so I'm taking them seriously, yes.
03:31Ken Wyman, 105.7 The Fan, in Baltimore as they get set to head to Atlanta Sunday night
03:35for an 8-20 meeting against the red-hot Atlanta Falcons.
03:39We now go to Cincinnati.
03:40Mo Egger, ESPN 1530 in Cincinnati as they're on to Miami at 1 p.m. on Sunday,
03:47and why do they keep having to abandon the run, Mo?
03:51They're not good at it.
03:53There's no other better way of putting it.
03:55They're not good at it.
03:57They're not good at it up front.
03:58Chase Brown doesn't look anywhere like the explosive runner or pass receiver we saw last year.
04:04You know, Zach Taylor spent eight months trying to figure out how to get the Bengals
04:08to operate better under center,
04:11and it's like a student who's had all semester to work on a project
04:14and turns it in and deserves an F.
04:18This one, to me, is on him.
04:19You know, we talk about Zach Taylor a lot in terms of the roster.
04:23Well, you know, he only has a handful of fingerprints, really, on the roster on an annual basis.
04:27They're all the defensive issues they have.
04:29Well, okay.
04:30Maybe that's not on Zach because he's an offensive guy.
04:32This was his project this offseason, to find ways to get the Bengals to operate better under center,
04:39to run the ball more effectively, and to get more explosive plays.
04:42We talk about the Bengals operating under center like it's some newfound offense
04:47that nobody's ever done before.
04:49If you find footage of the first ever game that was filmed back in 1901,
04:54the quarterback is under center and they're running the football.
04:56We talk about it here, that kind of offense here,
04:59like it's, you know, advanced calculus.
05:01I don't understand, and most Bengals fans don't understand.
05:04And so now you already have Joe Burrow, who threw it 54 times on Sunday
05:09against Jacksonville, saying publicly, well, let's throw it more.
05:12That's not how this offense was supposed to be designed.
05:16Man, that is just so many throws.
05:17And what do we know about the more times you throw it?
05:20Not only do you have more of an opportunity to turn it over and all that,
05:24the injury stuff with Burrow.
05:25Like, you just don't want to live in that world,
05:27especially in the first quarter of the season.
05:28That seems nuts to me.
05:32It's insane.
05:33You know, I remember Joe Burrow's second ever NFL start
05:36against the Browns in Cleveland.
05:38He threw it 61 times, thinking to myself,
05:41if he ever approaches that number again,
05:43something really bad is going to happen.
05:45It's not going to surprise me at all if we approach that number
05:47at some point this season because of how ineffective
05:50they've been running the football.
05:51And look, Joe wants the game.
05:53He wants the ball in his hands.
05:54He wants the responsibility on his shoulders.
05:57You could admire all of that, but you're right.
05:59I mean, it's just not a way to live.
06:02It's just not a way to live if you have designs on winning a championship.
06:05And this team, at least coming into the season, certainly did.
06:09Well, you're asking everybody, how seriously are you taking the Browns?
06:13How seriously are you taking Deshaun Watson?
06:17Seriously in terms of having to play them on a week-to-week basis?
06:21Very.
06:21I think there's something about a young team that doesn't know it's supposed to be bad.
06:27And that's what I saw on Thursday night.
06:29They made the Pittsburgh Steelers look old, which the Bengals four days prior could not do.
06:34They swarmed to the ball.
06:36They had an energy to them.
06:38I take their coach seriously.
06:40It's funny, you know, for all the talk this offseason about the coaching changes in the AFC North,
06:45I think the one that nationally got the least amount of run was Cleveland.
06:49I think they have their guy.
06:50Do I take him seriously as, like, bona fide contenders?
06:53I wouldn't go that far, but I wouldn't want to play him right now.
06:57And do I take Deshaun Watson seriously?
06:59Look, everybody has said for a while, you know, if they could just get reasonably competent quarterback play,
07:06there's some good young talent there.
07:08There's more now than I think was there a year ago.
07:10They're getting reasonably competent quarterback play.
07:12I know a lot of folks have to hold their nose to root for Deshaun Watson.
07:16I can certainly understand why, but he's at least not screwing it up.
07:20They have a lot of young talent.
07:22I love the two young receivers.
07:23Yeah, I take them seriously because I would not want to play them right now.
07:27Mo Egger, ESPN 1530 in Cincinnati as they're headed to Miami for a 1 o'clock meeting with the Dolphins.
07:34The only team that's home this week in the AFC North is the Pittsburgh Steelers at Akershire Stadium.
07:391 p.m. Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
07:42It's Donnie Football Chedrick, 93.
07:44Some of the fans in Pittsburgh.
07:45What has been the fallout from the Joey Porter Jr. trade?
07:50It's a lot of fans that are actually more upset at his dad than anything else, guys,
07:55because Joey Porter Sr., who was always a loud mouth.
08:00I mean, as you guys know, there in Cleveland, he once fought William Green before a game like 20 years
08:05ago.
08:05So, he posted video of him supporting his son, really, going to the game last week to watch Joey's debut.
08:16We're going to have to try to reestablish with Donnie there if hopefully John can hear us.
08:20I know he's working on some things over there.
08:22We're going to have to try to reestablish with Donnie.
08:24That was interesting to hear the thing about Joey Porter there.
08:26I got to tell you, because I kind of wanted to set this up, hearing how they were,
08:32I wanted to see if we were getting our respect or whether or not that this is going to be
08:36a different style.
08:37I think we definitely have to have a discussion here coming up about whether or not teams actually take us
08:41seriously,
08:42at least the media, and whether or not they take us seriously in these other places.
08:46Well, you know, even the very first guest that we had on, Ken Wyman, saying,
08:50well, I take the bronze seriously.
08:52I still don't take Sean Watson seriously.
08:54I think most people are going to be in that camp because the Browns clearly have this influx of young
09:00talent.
09:01And the whole thing about young talent, not even knowing any better,
09:05they don't even know they're supposed to be bad.
09:07Like, that is something that we're starting to talk about more and more and more.
09:10Hell of a thought.
09:11All right, let's get back to Donnie Football.
09:13Donnie Football, Chedrick 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh.
09:15Hopefully we have him clear.
09:17Ben Roethlisberger wonders about the long-term future for the rest of the season for Aaron Rodgers.
09:22Will Aaron Rodgers finish the season, Donnie?
09:26Well, first, sorry about that, guys.
09:28Hopefully I'm better now.
09:30I really have my doubts with a guy that old playing quarterback in the NFL if he's going to finish
09:37the season.
09:38Somehow he got through, what, 16 games last year?
09:42So he's taken a lot of hits and has somehow stayed in.
09:45And I really have doubts, though, that we see him the entire way.
09:51Boy, it's been weird because the first two weeks he looked like he didn't belong in the NFL.
09:55And then he started playing better.
09:59And against the Browns, very uneven overall.
10:02So do fans want to see him continue to start?
10:07Or are some contingents of the fan base, are they like, yeah, man, we'd just like to see what's up
10:13next to see if we need to draft one?
10:15Yeah, honestly, it's so split because there were people that were, like, actually excited about him coming back as if
10:21it provided any sort of hope in future.
10:25I mean, like, they're not winning the Super Bowl or anything, guys, and it's a 43-year-old quarterback, so
10:30I don't know what people were so excited about.
10:32There are plenty, though, myself included, that were ready to turn the page.
10:36And, you know, if they had to, you know, be bad for a year with somebody younger, so be it.
10:43But I think there were plenty of people that are actually ready and hopeful that would happen, but we'll never
10:49see it.
10:49Art will never let it happen.
10:52Art will never let it happen.
10:53What happened again?
10:55Then be bad.
10:57Well, why do people want to be bad?
10:59I mean, we've been bad.
11:00That's not fun.
11:01I got to tell you, man.
11:02Sucks.
11:04That's the middle of the road over 20 years.
11:05Yeah, but it's a body.
11:06Okay, you say that, but a body in motion tends to be in motion, and we were bad, and we
11:11continue to be bad for a long time to the point where it's like you need a miracle of God
11:15to be good.
11:16Go ahead, Don.
11:17Yeah, I mean, I understand that the people make the points about the Browns or the Jets or, I don't
11:24know, like.
11:25Maybe like the Raiders or something, you want to throw them in there.
11:28But, I mean, we've also seen teams do it and turn right around.
11:33I mean, the Patriots were bad for two seasons, and they were in the Super Bowl last year.
11:39Donnie Football, Chedrick, 93-7 the fan in Pittsburgh.
11:43The Browns are off to a 3-1 start, one of those wins being over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
11:48Do you take the Browns seriously in terms of contending playoffs, things like that?
11:54I mean, if Deshaun Watson continues to play, he does, yes.
11:57I think he's the ultimate X-factor.
11:59I mean, kind of going off the last question and answer we just had, if you get good quarterback play
12:07with the roster that the Browns have,
12:09I think they're a good team, like a legitimately good team, because I really like the rest of their roster.
12:15I think they've drafted incredibly well the last couple of seasons.
12:19You have, what, four or five guys from this draft class alone that made impacts on Thursday night
12:26and will make impacts throughout the season, I mean, that's a lot to be excited about.
12:31I truly think they have something pretty good there as long as the quarterback can, you know, stay at the
12:37level he's at right now.
12:38Steelers at home on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
12:42Donnie Football, Chedrick, 93-7 the fan in Pittsburgh, talking about them.
12:45Remember, all guests appear on the Wise Heart Right.
12:47We make it right.
12:48Call Kyle Right Hotline.
12:50Thanks to Ken.
12:50Thanks to Mo.
12:51Thanks to Donnie.
12:51And I think Browns fans might have the Browns, at least right now, right where we want them.
12:58And also, the drive, the fumble, and now the pout.
13:04Ken Carman, Anthony Lyman, take us with you to work on the free Odyssey app.
