00:00As our main event is up now.
00:19With Tenzan and Gabriel Kidd along with Osprey and Zack Sabre Jr.
00:24in the upper right hand quadrant of the bracket
00:27it is no surprise that every single bracket filled out
00:31to support a pro wrestling challenge
00:33had either Zack Sabre Jr. or Osprey winning.
00:41But 90.9% of the bracket said Osprey would beat Zack.
00:47And in fact 31.2% have Will Osprey winning the whole tournament.
00:52By far the highest percentage in the field.
00:59But the self-described Billy Goat.
01:01The self-described Commonwealth Kingpin.
01:09Incredibly athletic, affluent, and obnoxious.
01:14Is that Will Osprey who's going to win the New Japan Cup?
01:17In order to do so he's going to have to get past the familiar foe.
01:21The British Heavy Q Champion.
01:25185cm, 105kg.
01:27The Commonwealth Kingpin.
01:30Will Osprey!
01:3313 singles matches these two have had.
01:36Since going all the way back to September of 2014.
01:39And while Osprey won their first meeting.
01:42And their last meeting.
01:44Zack Sabre Jr. has won an overwhelming percentage
01:47of the matches in the middle.
01:52Zack has never lost to Will Osprey here in Japan.
01:55In a singles bout.
02:03Last defeating Osprey.
02:06Back on February the 2nd of 2020.
02:11A successful defense of the Rev Pro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship.
02:15But Osprey got a victory over Zack in a tag team match.
02:20That next week.
02:21And then went on.
02:23At a Rev Pro event at York Hall.
02:25Which was completely sold out.
02:29Will Osprey defeated Zack.
02:33For that title.
02:34Then of course the global shutdown.
02:36Since then Zack has turned a lot of his attention to tag team wrestling.
02:40But he is a singles wrestler through and through.
02:42And Zack's tag team partner Taichi.
02:45Sitting at ringside.
02:47With the Japanese commentary position.
02:49He is going to have the chance to call a great one.
02:52The 2018 New Japan Cup winner.
02:55Zack Sabre Jr.
03:10And what kind of advantage did Zack Sabre Jr. give himself.
03:14In this match with the attack last night on Osprey.
03:19Osprey's right shoulder was already taped.
03:21He was already dealing with a shoulder issue.
03:23But he tried to attack Osprey from behind.
03:26Osprey sent Zack to the floor.
03:28Sword over the top rope.
03:29And Zack plucked him out of mid air.
03:31Hyper extending that right arm.
03:33Bell sounds.
03:34Here we go.
03:35And Zack Sabre Jr. feels the power of the shotgun drop kick.
03:39And just like we saw last night.
03:42Osprey this time doesn't get caught.
03:44Pounces on Zack.
03:46Springboard.
03:49Uppercut forearm.
03:50Yes sir too.
03:51And a quick end to this one.
03:54Oscutter on the way.
03:56No.
04:00Wait a minute.
04:01The shoulders of Osprey down.
04:03And a near fall.
04:13I think Osprey may be letting us know.
04:15That his shoulder is in bad shape.
04:18With the fast start there.
04:33Catches the boot.
04:36Oh.
04:37And that right arm.
04:38That right shoulder.
04:39He just spiked himself.
04:41Directly into the mat.
04:52Zach, Zach, Zach.
04:54Zach's going to go ahead and apply the hold anyway.
04:56Even though he knows he's in the ropes.
05:02And hardly a clean break there.
05:05Jake.

11:00Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
11:04Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
11:11Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
11:22And now Zach will go to work
11:28Oh, stomping down on that right arm
11:36I'd almost forgotten about Ospreay's shoulder situation
11:41Oh my god!
11:43Until that last exchange
11:48Zach waiting until the very last moment
11:51To strike
11:54To weaken Ospreay to attack that shoulder
11:58And the obvious plan was attack him from behind
12:00And get that shoulder in some kind of hold
12:02But Ospreay leapt over the top rope
12:05And Zach caught him out of midair
12:07And Ospreay told Jeff Cobb
12:09I felt it pop
12:14Right forearm connects
12:17Downstairs, side headlock
12:21The leapfrog, the drop down
12:23But Ospreay gets caught
12:34If the left arm presents itself
12:36Zach will take that one as well
12:37But the right arm the obvious target
12:49There is a mean streak
12:50You would never know it
12:53I don't hear you talking now, moron
13:00You might look at
13:02You know
13:02Zach Sabre Jr. on the surface
13:04That would be the wrestler your mom would like
13:06But then when you see him wrestle
13:08It's like
13:08It's a bloodthirsty
13:11Animal
13:19The blast of a kick came up empty
13:22Ospreay went for broke
13:25Wheel Zach through
13:26Wait a second
13:26He'll try it again
13:28And this time
13:29Connect
13:41If Will Ospreay can keep
13:43Zach Sabre Jr. off of him
13:45And use those legs
13:49That's got to be the pathway to victory
13:57But I'm kind of going through the Rolodex
13:59Of moves of Will Ospreay
14:00And it's like
14:00Okay, the legs
14:01The legs
14:03Yeah, the shooting star press
14:04The 450
14:05Those types of moves
14:06But then the Oscutter
14:08The Stormbreaker
14:09The hidden blade
14:10Which we haven't seen in a while
14:13Even that new strike
14:15The Chelsea grid
14:16That he used to
14:16Lead Tenzan
14:18Into Stormbreaker
14:20Is he going to be able to hit those?
14:24And firing those chops
14:39Absorbing
14:39These shots here
14:41All right, Dickhead
14:43All right
14:44You're still talking
14:45Come on
14:46Yes, I can hear you
14:48Come on
14:49Come on, Tossa
14:49Come on, you little one
14:51Come on
14:51Come on
14:52Come on
14:55Uh-oh
14:57He was taking all those chops for this
15:00Oh, wait a second
15:01Wait a second
15:04Just like that
15:05It's over
15:06No
15:06Zach kicks out
15:24Oh, look at me there
15:30Oh, look at me
15:32Oh, look at me
15:32Oh, look at me
15:37Come on
15:38Come on
15:38Come on
15:39Come on
15:39Come on
15:39Who to be you are
15:41I'm the big boy
15:44Oh
15:44Oh
15:46You're my senpai, brother
15:48I rule this place now
15:49I rule
15:50I rule this place now
15:52Oh, come on
15:57Oh, my God
16:02Oh, wait, wait, wait
16:05Oh, no
16:16And there is not as much on that forearm as the previous
16:20And every time Ospreay fires that right arm
16:24Whether a chop or a forearm
16:27More weakness, more pain, more exposure for a counter move from Zach
16:33You see the strategy, don't you?
16:38And now just slapping the taste out of his mouth
16:41Got to avoid the legs
16:51And caught
16:54The target is the right arm
16:55The target is the right arm
16:57Ospreay trying to fight through it
17:00Oh, left himself open for the PK
17:07It's almost as if Zach Sabre Jr. is trying to get Ospreay to, quote, punch himself out
17:13But not in an effort to gas him
17:16But in an effort to weaken that right arm so Zach can take full advantage
17:23Now that's a hell of a strategy if it works
17:26But on the way to getting there
17:27Zach Sabre Jr. is taking a hell of a lot of punishment
17:31You see the welts on the chest
17:33Oh, wait a minute, Zach Driver
17:38Oh, murders him with that kick
17:53Oh, wait, wait, wait
17:55Snaps him right through
17:57And will choke him out
18:07All the variety of submission moves
18:15He choked Ospreay into unconsciousness
18:17In the successful title defense of the British title on February 2nd last year
18:22Oh
18:25We used to call that Cheeky Nandos
18:28But no cute little nicknames for Ospreay moves anymore
18:31The Oscutter, though, on the way
18:33Got him
18:37Oscutter, is this enough?
18:38Two and a kick out from Zach
19:07Stormbreaker, let's see
19:09Even tried to go to the offside
19:12And now
19:13Wade stops the
19:15Wade sits right down
19:17Two
19:18Ospreay squeezes his head out
19:24Oh, rolling elbow
19:43And again, another attempted lift
19:45And another counter by Zach
19:48And now kicking the left arm
19:52All the way around La Mystica
19:55Oh, my goodness
20:02Triangle, but Zach
20:04Left arm strong
20:05Zach Driver
20:06Zach Driver
20:08Zach Driver
20:09Two
20:10Now a kick out
20:13But now Zach will submit him
20:15Now Zach will choke him out
20:24There is blood coming from somewhere
20:27Perhaps it's the nose or the mouth of Will Ospreay
20:35And Red Shoes might have to stop it
20:49Yeah, the blood is definitely coming from Ospreay
20:55And pulling him up with just the right arm
20:58Wait a minute, Zach not let go
21:00Zach not let go
21:01Zach should let go
21:04Oh, no
21:05Zach can't win here
21:08But he can certainly pop that shoulder
21:10And force a stoppage
21:11Zach
21:12Yeah
21:14Yeah
21:18Yeah
21:19Yeah
21:20Yeah
21:21Yeah
21:22Yeah
21:23Yeah
21:23Yeah
21:24Yeah
21:24Yeah
21:26Yeah
21:28Yeah
21:29Yeah
21:29Yeah
21:30Yeah
21:31Yeah
21:32Yeah
21:35Yeah
21:36Oh, my God
21:41Oh, no
21:45Oh, no
21:47Headbutts directly to that right arm
21:50Oh, no
21:51Oh, no
21:53Oh, no
21:55Oh, no
21:55Oh, no
21:55Oh, my God
21:55What a way to get into the arm bar
21:57Oh, no
22:02Hey, hey, hey
22:08Oh, mon Dieu !
22:13Et maintenant, il y a le trappé ! Il y a l'autre !
22:16Il y a l'autre !
22:22Oh, mon Dieu !
22:45Il y a l'autre !
22:49Je veux remercier à l'équipe de l'équipe !
22:52Si vous avez envie de rire mes levels plus que jamais !
22:56Parce que cette matche est génial !
22:58Et je sens que je suis en train de respirer !
23:01C'est parti !
23:02Mais, oh, mon Dieu !
23:03C'est génial !
23:05Osprey's nose poursuit de l'eau !
23:08Il y a l'autre, il y a l'autre, il y a l'autre !
23:10Il y a l'autre, il y a l'autre !
23:11Et Zack Sabre Jr. va enlever le coup !
23:22C'est parti !
23:24Il y a l'autre, il y a l'autre !
23:27Il y a l'autre, il y a l'autre !
23:35Il y a l'autre !
23:37C'est parti !
23:52Looking like Shinsuke Nakamura
23:54when Nakamura won the New Japan Cup.
24:07Looking for that Chelsea grid
24:08instead of backslide.
24:10All the way over.
24:11To another kickout.
24:15Ooh.
24:17Osprey on his feet.
24:18Thrust kick.
24:20Zach tried to catch the leg.
24:30Top rope boss cutter.
24:32Caught out of mid-air.
24:34Rips his nose.
24:36Zach Driver, no.
24:37Ooh, Chelsea grid.
24:46Now, up on his shoulder.
24:49Stormbreaker.
24:51Stormbreaker by Osprey.
24:53Cover to a winner.
24:57Oh, my God.
24:59I'm going to start.
24:59I'm going to start.
25:03I'm going to start.
33:06Kicked out of the Zack driver, took all that punishment,
33:10potential broken nose.
33:16Wow. Just thrilling.
33:19I'll be very interested to see what happens with Switchblade Jay White.
33:24And Tanahashi tomorrow.
33:29I've got a thought, and I'll tell you tomorrow,
33:32what I think Tanahashi's strategy is.
33:37And on the opposite side of the bracket,
33:39Evil and Toruiano may not be as easy as Evil might think.
33:48Shingo and Kenta,
33:51after tomorrow, we'll know
33:53the Great A.
33:56Evil, Yano, Shingo, Kenta.
33:59And then on the right-hand side, the winner of Osprey and Sonata.
34:03And the second round wraps up tomorrow.
34:07I just cannot wait.
34:10We'll be live with you for the final two nights of the New Japan Cup on the 20th and 21st.
34:16And I want to thank you for your patience.
34:18The staff is working as hard as they can to get these English commentary versions up,
34:22post-produced as quickly as possible.
34:24Of course, if you can't wait,
34:26they'll have live coverage with Japanese commentary
34:31each and every night.
34:35And now the...
34:39This is where we're getting into the money time.
34:43I just...
34:44I'm going to be thinking about that Zack Sabre Jr.
34:46Will Osprey match for a long, long time.
34:49And in terms of match of the tournament,
34:52good luck.
34:54Somebody's...
34:55We haven't had anything approach that level
34:56so far.
34:58Shingo and Okada was great.
35:03Trying to think what else.
35:05Shingo Goto, great.
35:10But Osprey, Zack Sabre Jr., in my opinion, was better.
35:14But what matters is results.
35:16What matters is wins.
35:17And who will win tomorrow?
35:19Will it be David Finley, Yoshihashi?
35:21Will it be Switchblade, Jay White?
35:23Or the ace of New Japan, Hiroshi Tanahashi?
35:26I want to thank you very much for joining us.
35:28I'm Kevin Kelly.
35:29And we'll see you tomorrow, everybody, right here.
