00:00disproportionate fin de la nye de la seconde Reims talking
00:11le premier à l'année de la printemps
00:15C'est le premier matchup, le semi-final de l'année.
00:20Both competitors in this matchup here in the first round
00:26have won New Japan Cups.
00:29In fact, this is the only first round match
00:31featuring former winners of this tournament,
00:35Ibushi in 2015 and Zack Sabre Jr. two years ago.
00:40And the ever-present sneer on the face
00:42of the supremely gifted technician.
00:51In many people's estimations, the best wrestler in the world.
00:55Suzuki, 183,85 kg.
00:58Zack Sabre Jr.
01:046-1 in this tournament lifetime.
01:074-0 in winning in 2018
01:10and was on his way once again to repeating
01:13when he stumbled against Tanahashi.
01:16Both years, both New Japan Cups
01:20that Zack Sabre Jr. has competed in,
01:22he has defeated that man.
01:25The Golden Star, Kota Ibushi,
01:28also with six wins but two defeats,
01:30both to ZSJ.
01:40and he's won half of the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions
01:43along with Tanahashi.
01:45The Golden Ace team ran afoul with dangerous techers.
01:49He said there's a lot to talk about.
01:55Ibushi faces Zack Sabre Jr. here
01:57and Zack's Tag Team Partner Taichi
01:59takes on Ibushi's Tag Team Partner Tanahashi
02:04in the main event.
02:04Kim Kardashian turn the other one to different games.
02:12Dr. Tom Buston, Maha Sabe,
02:14IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Team 관심.
02:17Zack Sabre Jr.
02:19has
02:22found a way to win
02:24two different occasions,
02:25two singles matches in 2020,
02:27two big spots.
02:29Wrestle Kingdom
02:30defeated Sinana
02:31and then beat Will Ospreay
02:35Ibushi 0-2
02:37in 2020 in singles matches
02:39both at Wrestle Kingdom
02:41back to back he was the only man
02:43in the double goal dash
02:44to go 0-2 and Zack Sabre Jr
02:47immediately now what does Zack do
02:49does he toy and play
02:51in an uber confident fashion with a man
02:53that he feels he is superior to
02:56or
02:56does he make no mistakes
02:58and look to win
03:02I think he feels very confident
03:04he looks confident so does Ibushi for that matter
03:11heading into
03:13Wrestle Kingdom
03:14Kota Ibushi had a 9 match
03:17singles winning
03:19streak
03:20life just has a way of evening out
03:22doesn't it and sometimes
03:24it's the biggest times in your life
03:27where fate
03:28intercedes
03:29Zack with the ride here
03:31front face lock
03:34transitioning quickly
03:36Zack will not stay still
03:37for too long in a hold
03:39he will
03:41move move and move
03:42Ibushi
03:45solid if not spectacular
03:47on the ground
03:48he's capable
03:49Zack is otherworldly
03:53but on the stand up
03:55it's a huge advantage
03:57for Ibushi
04:07so this is where Zack starts
04:09to run into a little bit of
04:10issue
04:11my only exception with him is that
04:14when he gets the edge
04:16he's so confident
04:18he's so good
04:19he talks a little trash
04:21and may let down his guard
04:23and Ibushi immediately cracks him in the quad
04:30again I mentioned the fact that
04:32Zack Sabre Jr.
04:33let Tanahashi
04:34off the hook
04:35last year
04:36he had Tana
04:37in a state
04:38where his knees
04:38were so bad
04:41all Zack needed to do
04:42was focus on the leg submissions
04:43and he would have won
04:44instead he went for the arm
04:45because he felt like
04:46Tana's legs were already
04:48compromised
04:53pops him over
04:54looking to cross arm breaker
04:56of course a year ago
05:00Tanahashi was victorious
05:01and then what happened
05:03when Tana went to the
05:04semifinal match with Sonata
05:06Sonata went after
05:07Tanahashi's legs and won
05:13so Zack now looking for
05:15an opening
05:16an opportunity
05:18and raking the eyes
05:22to gain the advantage
05:27another attempt
05:29for the cross arm breaker
05:30another roll through
05:31from Ibushi
05:32but Zack still has the arm
05:42Zack cautious with his head
05:44realizing that the knees are
05:46pin point accurate
05:48from Ibushi
05:49any angle
05:50he's got to be careful
05:55grapevining bolt
05:56grapevining the outside
05:58and now Zack escaping
06:03rolling through
06:09and chin lock there
06:10brings Ibushi's boot
06:12to the bottom rope
06:13forced the break
06:15Ibushi had the crucifix
06:16on for a second
06:18but Zack was able
06:19to roll through
06:19in fact each man
06:20rolled through
06:22Ibushi having seen
06:23just a little bit
06:24of action
06:25in tag team matches
06:28same for ZSJ
06:29Zack competing
06:31in this tournament
06:31by the way
06:32as he has moved
06:33and lives full time
06:34in Japan
06:36so good for him
06:38good for his prospects
06:39at the New Japan Cup
06:41and now
06:42go to Ibushi
06:43that snap
06:44in his kicks
06:45is unlike anyone else
06:48on the roster
06:48of New Japan Pro Wrestling
06:49good for a cover here
06:55why not
06:56opportunity presented itself
06:59and Ibushi of course
07:00has modified his game
07:05and is not the wild
07:08emboldened risk taker
07:10that he once was
07:13he's relaxed
07:14he's calm
07:15he's a strategist
07:18you used to think
07:19he was just this
07:20insane maniac
07:21who would jump off
07:22of anything
07:22and that was true
07:25but Ibushi realizes
07:27that the long money
07:28in this industry
07:29is built around
07:31technique
07:33and wrestling
07:34and he got caught
07:37it was so subtle
07:38I don't even know
07:39if you can catch it
07:40Ibushi was firing
07:41those kicks
07:42and Zack was turning
07:43his leg inward
07:44just ever so slightly
07:46so there wasn't quite
07:47that full connection
07:48Zack completely
07:50baited him in
07:50and now in the same
07:52position
07:53that Ibushi
07:55has found himself
07:55in with ZSJ
07:56before
07:58both legs tied up
07:59heel hook
08:01submission on the way
08:02Ibushi grabbing that rope
08:04and just a few moments
08:06of deep intense pain
08:07for Ibushi there
08:09pulled the knee
08:10the ankle
08:13throw the Achilles
08:14in there as well
08:15for good measure
08:18but it started
08:19with Zack
08:21saying yeah
08:21go ahead
08:22kick me
08:22and then turning
08:23his leg
08:24turning his leg
08:25and not really
08:25giving it to him
08:26baiting Ibushi in
08:30and there's nothing
08:32subtle about this
08:40this is
08:43legs
08:43tied up
08:45joints manipulated
08:50trying to find
08:51an opening
08:53to get something
08:54and a pop
08:55and Ibushi again
08:56a rope break here
08:58in just the nick of time
09:01but it's the strategy
09:03of Zack Sabre Jr.
09:05to take his opponent
09:07off his feet
09:09tie him up
09:10twist him up
09:11tap him out
09:13roll through
09:14there's a kick
09:15into the chest
09:16no turning away
09:17from that one
09:17from ZSJ
09:18standing moonsault
09:19on the body
09:21leg hook
09:22Brody Asami
09:22two and a kick out
09:24again we think back
09:26to the G1
09:27climax tournament
09:28Kota Ibushi
09:29winning the G1
09:31but his G1
09:32tournament
09:33ended
09:34just as it was
09:35beginning
09:36back on July
09:37the 6th
09:38last year
09:39in Dallas
09:39Ibushi
09:40and Kenta
09:41a tournament
09:43opening match
09:43and Ibushi
09:45some say
09:46broke his ankle
09:50the official word
09:51is ankle injury
09:53but
09:54did he break
09:55the knot
09:55weight bearing bone
09:56anyway
09:57fought through
09:58gutted his way
09:59through the rest
09:59of the tournament
10:00with an injured ankle
10:01and at some points
10:03of matches
10:03having to win
10:04on one leg
10:07and went all the way
10:08in one
10:11there is a hard
10:13collision on a forearm
10:14and now
10:14Zack Sabre Jr.
10:16sent to the buckle
10:17snap rata
10:18Zack will roll
10:20out to the apron
10:22and the floor
10:23but
10:24he has got to
10:25keep an eye
10:26open
10:26at all times
10:27because Kota Ibushi
10:29that wild streak
10:30will raise up
10:32every once in a while
10:33and Ibushi here
10:33looking for an
10:34offensive opportunity
10:35and Zack Cooley
10:36and Conley
10:37walking away
10:50when Zack had talked
10:52about
10:52when he was asked
10:53about Ibushi
10:54a couple of years ago
10:54in this tournament
10:56there he goes
10:57the boot
10:58catches
10:59Zack coming in
11:00and now Ibushi
11:01thinking about
11:03leaping over the top
11:04and now Zack Sabre Jr.
11:06takes him down
11:06and drags him out
11:14well he can't win out here
11:16there's no way
11:17a submission
11:17would be registered
11:19but
11:20enough damage done
11:21to Ibushi
11:22to weaken him
11:23going forward
11:24perhaps
11:25Zack was asked
11:26a couple of years ago
11:27about Ibushi
11:28before they met
11:29in the New Japan Cup
11:30he said
11:31people
11:33you know
11:34Ibushi jumps off
11:35of things
11:35on top of people
11:36you know what he does
11:37if I do that
11:38if he tries to
11:38moonsault on me
11:39I'll move
11:40and then
11:41I'll heel hook him
11:42and tap him out
11:45perfect way
11:46to describe
11:47Zack Sabre Jr.'s
11:48strategy
11:49against
11:51Kota Ibushi
11:53and Ibushi
11:54got a little frustrated
11:56tried to turn up
11:57the offense
11:58and Zack caught him
12:00and made him pay
12:09and now tying up
12:11the legs
12:14one sick laboratory
12:16of human torture
12:18does Zack Sabre Jr.
12:20dream up
12:21these joint
12:22manipulating holds
12:26he goes from
12:27one to the other
12:32sometimes you think
12:34he's like a jazz musician
12:35no notes
12:37no sheet music
12:38an impressionist artist
12:39just painting
12:40what he feels
12:41but then other times
12:42you look and you realize
12:43he's concocted
12:45these moves
12:45in that dark brain
12:46of his
12:50sweeps the leg
12:51and Ibushi crashes down hard
12:59Zack has
13:01six wins
13:02and just one defeat
13:04in the New Japan Cup
13:05the winner of this tournament
13:07in 2018
13:08Ibushi the winner
13:09in 2015
13:10now Ibushi comes forward
13:13oh and Zack
13:14better keep kicking
13:15better keep moving
13:16because Ibushi has had
13:18just about enough
13:19of ZSJ
13:21a thunderous clothesline
13:23puts Zack Sabre Jr. down
13:35another look here
13:37at the clothesline
13:38catching ZSJ
13:39directly in the chest
13:48after this
13:49of course
13:50a lot of thought
13:52and talk will be
13:53about the inevitable
13:54confrontation
13:55between Golden Ace
13:56and dangerous
13:57Techers for the tag team
13:58title
13:59but a lot of ground
14:00to cover before we get there
14:01this a first round
14:03New Japan Cup match
14:09slipping out of the hole
14:11to go back to work
14:13on the leg
14:15the knee bar
14:16the heel hook
14:20but Ibushi
14:23a waist lock
14:25now up to the full Nelson
14:27Jack trying to free himself
14:29breaks the grip
14:32to the arms
14:33and now
14:35jacks the shoulder
14:37all up
14:38let's go after
14:40the entire body
14:48Ibushi
14:49still very strong
14:50though
14:51carrying the weight
14:56another transition
14:58again
14:59Zack is moving here
15:00he's moving offensively
15:01this is not a defensive
15:02posture
15:03for ZSJ
15:08and back to the leg
15:10again
15:11this time
15:12the single leg
15:16with a leg lock on
15:18and
15:18we might be seeing
15:20a tap out
15:21we might be seeing
15:22a leg submission
15:22here
15:23this could be it
15:25this could be the time
15:26that Zack Sabre Jr.
15:27for the third year
15:28in a row
15:29defeats Kota Ibushi
15:30in the New Japan Cup
15:35can he get to the ropes
15:37yes he can
15:42Kota Ibushi
15:43screaming in anguish
15:45clutching his knee
15:49Zach was able to shrug off
15:50that clothesline
15:51he absorbed in the chest
15:53and keep the action
15:55moving
15:57keep moving
15:58keep trying to find
15:59an opening
16:00and then just
16:01stomp it away
16:02on the knee capsule
16:07if there was ever
16:08an offensive style
16:09that was tailor-made
16:10for the body composition
16:11of the athlete
16:12employing it
16:13it is
16:14the almost liquid
16:15style of Zack Sabre Jr.
16:17the way he flows
16:18from one move
16:19to the next
16:20transition
16:22hold
16:22counter hold
16:23and now Ibushi
16:24back on his feet
16:25a crucifix
16:26and the shoulders
16:27are down
16:27two
16:29and immediately
16:30trapping the head
16:31and the arm
16:31but Ibushi
16:32breaking that grip
16:33rolling up
16:34it doesn't mean
16:35that Ibushi
16:35is free and clear
16:38now he's in danger
16:39of a triangle
16:40but the power
16:41Ibushi able
16:42to dump
16:42Zack down
16:44swing and a miss
16:44with the kick
16:45Ibushi kept
16:46eyes on Zack
16:47though
16:47and the backflip
16:48kick is there
16:52paintbrushed him
16:53across the face
16:54with the boot
16:56heavy in the shoulder
16:58and the arm
16:58as well
17:01Zack got that
17:02kick all over him
17:03and now Ibushi
17:05perhaps can string
17:06some offense
17:06together here
17:10this is the edge
17:11that Ibushi has
17:12is the power game
17:13with the last
17:14ride effort
17:15Zack just too slick
17:17now the double
17:17stomp
17:18no
17:18Zack avoided it
17:20Zack almost got
17:21invisible under the
17:22feet of Ibushi
17:23PK
17:23he did not miss
17:25how did Ibushi
17:26not connect with that
17:27double stomp
17:28on top of Zack
17:29Sabre Junior
17:33it's like he
17:34disappeared on the
17:35back
17:35only to reform
17:37and blast him
17:38with a PK
17:39Zack driver
17:39no
17:40oh the knockout
17:42and now pull him up
17:48don't waste any time
17:50Kamagoye
17:52Kamagoye
17:53dusted him
17:54got him
17:55oh my god
17:57oh my god

18:24avenging the bitter defeats
18:25Zack Sabre Junior
18:28the past two years
18:30of the New Japan
18:30Cup and now the journey
18:32from Ibushi to
18:32for the Golden Star

19:17a lot of punishment
19:18and that match was
19:19largely
19:20Zack Sabre Junior's
19:25until one knee strike
19:27opened the door
19:27for the Kamagoye
19:29he didn't miss
19:30how many dives
19:32did Ibushi hit

19:33folks
19:34zero
19:37how many did he try
19:38well he thought about
19:39a couple
19:40he didn't hit one
19:44it's the knees
19:45it's a power game
19:48it's a ground-based

19:53high flying ability
19:55wild out of control
