00:00C'est parti !
00:30J'ai pris Okada pour gagner le tournoi.

00:40pour avancer dans le premier round.
00:43Including notre man Chris Sampson,
00:45Dave Meltzer,
00:47et yours truly.
00:48Mais je suis venu à un moment,
00:50j'ai Shingo pour gagner le tout.
00:51Pourquoi pas?

01:13Nouveau J'ai gagné.
01:15Shingo J'ai gagné
01:17en la première ronde
01:18de la show.
01:22Shingo J'ai gagné le Nouveau J'ai gagné le Nouveau J'ai gagné le Nouveau J'ai gagné.
01:46Shingo
01:46The Dragon
01:48Takagi
01:50Shingo
01:51I have a feeling Shingo has relived in his mind over and over again.
01:55That classic battle that he had with Okada in the G1
01:59where referee Red Shizuno had to call for a stoppage.
02:03Shingo would not submit
02:04nor could he fight his way out of the money clip.
02:17Only Okada's fifth
02:20New Japan Cup appearance
02:22but it's his third consecutive.
02:25Now in five New Japan Cups
02:28Okada's won two of them
02:312013-2019
02:322019
02:3713-2
02:39all time
02:40Made it to the finals last year.
02:42The betrayal by Evil joining Bullet Club
02:45instrumental in that factor.
02:48Nobody has a better New Japan Cup record all time.
02:53As far as winning percentage
02:55than the Rainmaker.
02:57Is it too late to change by pick?
02:59In the red corner Kegos
03:01191cm
03:03107kg
03:04Rainmaker
03:05Okada
03:07Kazuchika
03:08He's been to the finals three out of the four times
03:11in the index.
03:24I gotta have my head examined
03:26for picking Shingo to win.
03:28They did it to be last year though too
03:29because
03:30last year it was supposed to be Jay White versus Okada in the first round.
03:36And this year it's Okada versus Shingo in the first round.
03:42Here we go.
03:42Rich Uzuno once again will be the official for this match.
03:58Bell sounds and here we go.
04:00Okada dealing with a back issue as of late.
04:06The other night in a tag team preview match.
04:10Shingo pointing out all the tape that Okada had on his back.
04:21But no tape tonight from the Rainmaker.
04:38On elbow tie up Okada of course besting evil at castle attack.
04:45And then made his intentions clear to win the New Japan Cup.
04:57Shingo knows what to expect here.
04:59The question is will Shingo allow Okada.
05:07Send that message.
05:09Fire and forearms though.
05:21Send that message.
05:24Fire and forearms though.
05:27And the elbow.
05:41Shingo looking to free himself here and sends Okada off the ropes.
05:47Like running into a brick wall for Okada.
05:58I can tell you there's no wrestler who doesn't have a bad back.
06:01A bad neck.
06:02Bad knee.
06:03Bad something.
06:05Beautiful drop toe hold out of the way.
06:07Okada drops the elbow into the small of the back of Shingo Takagi.
06:15And there's really not much you can do.
06:17You can rest.
06:18You can ice.
06:19You can get stem treatments from the training staff.
06:24It's one of those things that just has to work itself out over time.
06:37It's not an injury like, for example, Hiromu Takahashi who had to have surgery.
06:46But rather a wear and tear issue.
06:49And the leg is hooked after the neck breaker and a one cap.
06:53And now Okada clamp it on the rear chin lock.
06:56Right.
07:07Okay.
07:08Okada keeping Shingo down.
07:09It's important for Okada to avoid the hard charging Shingo.
07:17Keep him grounded as much as possible.
07:21Keep pouring the pressure on.

18:03Same position
18:05Shingo found himself during the G1
18:08He would not submit
18:09but he couldn't get to the ropes
18:11Eventually Red Shoes had to call it
18:13a referee stoppage
18:18Shingo able to get that boot on the bottom rope
19:28On le way.
19:31Shingo complètement s'en fout.
19:34Il est même pas à la hauteur.
19:37Oh, Superplexe !
19:46Il est en train de faire des points, mais Okada a la peine de la peine.
20:05C'est parti !
20:22Et là, il y a tant mieux, il y a tant mieux.

21:25Can he put him away ? Looking for Last of the Dragons !
21:34Okada !
21:35Wow !
22:01Wait a minute for Ré-Maker !

22:54Shingo's trying to find an escape !
22:57Money Clip is looking to claim another victim !
23:02Reaching out, couldn't get there !
23:08Back to the submission again !
23:12All that time with his forearm clamped around the carotid artery !
23:20Shingo is losing contact with consciousness !
23:29And this is just like their G1 matchup !
23:33Where Shingo is refusing to tap out !
23:36And Red Shoes once again, might have to call for a stoppage !
23:40Oh !
23:41No !

41:47that's what he is
41:48the plan is to
41:49unify those two belts
41:50into the IWGP world heavyweight championship
41:54but we'll see when that happens
41:56of course the winner of the New Japan Cup
