00:00Thanks, Nisha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. It's that time again where I give you the rundown on your weather.
00:06Let's begin with tonight. Here's what we're getting. Mostly fair conditions with a few party cloudy interruptions,
00:13with showers, with minimum temperatures at 25 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
00:19Now, there is a low possibility of isolated thunderstorms over in Tobago, so look out for that.
00:25Now, if the heat was too much for you today and you're hoping for a cooler day tomorrow,
00:31well, I'm not trying to be the bearer of bad news, but tomorrow will be hot and sunny and also
00:38breezy.
00:38But to lift your mood a bit, there may be cloudy periods accompanied by showers, more so in the afternoon.
00:46Daytime temperatures will reach up to 34 degrees in Trinidad and 32 over in Tobago.
00:51But you can keep your hopes up because in our two-day forecast,
00:56a Friday will bring fair to party cloudy and breezy conditions with occasional showers,
01:01just what some of you all been praying for.
01:04Then, by Saturday, the heat will return with mostly sunny skies, a few cloudy periods and some showers along the
01:11way.
01:12Now, let's look at our sun times in Trinidad.
01:15Sunrise is at 554 and 551 in Tobago and sunset at 552 in Trinidad and 549 in Tobago.
01:23And if you feel like seeing what the beach has to offer tomorrow,
01:27seas will be slight to moderate with waves of 1 meter to 1.5 meters in open waters and below
01:321 meter in sheltered areas.
01:34Now, the Met Office is advising all marine interests to exercise caution as occasional long-period swells may agitate nearshore
01:42conditions,
01:43particularly along northern and eastern coastlines.
01:47With that being said, here are your Thai times.
02:02Looking across the Atlantic, there's one system forecasters are keeping an eye on.
02:08Tropical storm Ezias, currently in the Gulf of America.
02:12According to the National Hurricane Center, Ezias is expected to strengthen further, possibly becoming a hurricane.
02:20Possibly the first hurricane in the Atlantic at that.
02:23It poses no direct threat to Trinidad and Tobago.
02:26Elsewhere, the Atlantic remains relatively quiet, with no other tropical development expected over the next seven days.
02:34Now, it's Wednesday, so grab a pen and a paper because class is in session.
02:40Did you know that humidity can make a hot day feel even hotter?
02:44Well, that's because when the air is already full of moisture, your sweat doesn't evaporate as quickly.
02:51And because evaporation is one of the main ways your body cools itself, that means your body has a harder
02:57time getting rid of heat.
02:59So, for example, a temperature of 32 degrees might not sound too extreme, but if the humidity is high, it
03:06can feel several degrees hotter.
03:08So, that's what we call the feels-like temperature or heat index.
03:13Well, now you know.
03:15And that's all for weather tonight, but don't go just yet because sports is up next.
03:20So, let's get to know.
