00:00they were screaming over the microphone the enemies that it's a it's a ghost it's a ghost
00:04shit did you make any contact yeah maybe i'll leave that for the film haunted michigan terrifying
00:12tales well here we are once again the haunting season and joined by a none other than steve
00:17shipping steve of course before we get to your documentary we got to talk about your health
00:21because uh you've been a fight in the battle and winning by all accounts what's going on with you
00:27yeah yeah it's a little you know a little unexpected journey that took place uh you know
00:33got diagnosed with a certain type of cancer and uh never thought i'd be saying that you know
00:40so weird even saying it so it was pretty rough man it was uh it was a shock uh to
00:46say the least
00:47and it was very um very intense went through a ton of radiation uh chemo treatments and um
00:54you go through a lot of things you know with that you know i haven't i've been public about it
01:00but
01:00not really the downsides um a lot of infections hospitalizations um pretty scary moments you know
01:09uh i won't go into too much gruesome detail but things got pretty rough there they really did
01:14and um you know it's strange because you don't know not to go too much into it but it's strange
01:21when you go through something like that um it changes you in a lot of ways it changes everything
01:27you know everything is strange because you know let's face it the c word you know you don't you you
01:32wonder am i going to live am i going to die what's going to happen um everything is weird you
01:39know
01:39even normal life is weird people will be talking about yeah you know next year we should but then
01:45you're kind of like is there a next year you know and then people are wanting to take more photos
01:51with
01:51you all of a sudden out of nowhere and you're kind of like are you doing that because you think
01:56you know it's a it's a lot of mind games and a lot of physical games but um beyond all
02:02that
02:03um i went through all the treatments um and then you have to wait a little while uh for them
02:09to do
02:09another pet scan uh to see if it was effective if not uh went through the pet scan head to
02:15shin
02:16and they determined that there's no evidence of disease at that time so it came back clear and
02:22then i do another one um either late december or early january and they keep checking you of course
02:28uh for a while i think for um all cancer patients uh five years until you're cured but uh they
02:35gave me
02:36good numbers you know basically they told me one doctor said 85 one doctor said 94 likelihood that
02:43it will not return that's great man that's awesome i'll take you know we we talked about this a couple
02:49days ago just kind of you know uh off the air and different things but uh man a lot of
02:54people are
02:54pulling for you of course and uh and i'm just i was really happy to to see all the news
02:59and ringing
02:59the bell and and all that stuff that's so great and now now you have to buy a whole new
03:03wardrobe it
03:04looks like huh it's ridiculous yeah i hate to do this but you know how much how much weight did
03:11you
03:11lose 130 pounds holy crap wow yeah yeah how do you feel all what was i doing being that big
03:20anyway
03:21you know what yeah this is one way to do it yeah yeah you you've lost a person how do
03:27you feel
03:29um good you know like i'm definitely feel better in that sense but i'm still also so it's a weird
03:36dichotomy like on one hand being you know losing that much you feel good um in a lot of ways
03:42and
03:42then the other hand losing it that fast makes you feel not that good and then recovering you know from
03:49all the radiation stuff you know like all that chemo brain is a real thing it's kind of a brain
03:54fog
03:55you know and sometimes you're like hey hand me that um you know the the thing they're like
04:02the broom yeah that with the whiskers you know i mean it's like weird moments like that and then
04:08sometimes you feel like your old self and then it's all over the place you know well i for one
04:13uh
04:14yeah yeah dude i for one i'm super happy that you're here of course so we've become friends over
04:18the last few years uh in in the world of paranormal and uh in the world of music as well
04:23and uh dude can can we i mean we don't have that we don't have a ton of time but
04:27can we tell the
04:28story i don't know if people know this or not maybe i'm speaking out of school but uh you and
04:32sid wilson uh go way back uh tell me about meeting him for the first time yeah so yeah me
04:39and sid wilson
04:39uh from slip now had become really good friends for a long time um god 20 years something like that
04:47so first time i met sid um i was in des moines iowa and i was on tour uh being
04:54tech nine and a bunch
04:55of guys on the hostel takeover tour the first one and um we're playing the velour ballroom in des
05:01moines so you know it was my first time playing there it's a really really cool place so i'm on
05:07the
05:07tour bus you know just kind of killing time uh waiting for the meet and greet stuff to start
05:12and uh these local guys just come right up on the bus you know and as you know when you're
05:18on tour
05:18the bus is kind of your home your house yeah people shouldn't ever just walk up on there and i
05:23don't
05:23know why it was unlocked but they did and i look at these guys you know and they're they've got
05:28this
05:28big old camera and they're waving it around and they're like yeah you know we're here with des moines
05:33playing some weird name underground tv what's up you know and i'm just like oh god it's one of these
05:40local news station wannabe things that are always weird you know what i mean and i'm like well you
05:46know we get that all the time so i'm like okay and they're like putting the camera right in my
05:50face
05:50and they're like you're in des moines iowa what do you think about it i'm like oh you know i
05:55love
05:55des moines i got love for des moines that kind of thing and they're asking me some random questions and
06:00you know and this guy's got this big mullet in sunglasses and gold teeth and i'm like what is
06:05going on man and uh he's like uh so when you're in iowa what do you think about when you
06:11think of
06:11iowa and i said me personally i'd say the greatest metal band ever slipknot and he just gives me this
06:18like stink face and he's like you like them and i and it just triggered me and i'm like oh
06:24typical
06:25hometown haters right and i and i i said some things you know i said some things man i really
06:32went at this guy and i told him uh in expletives to get off the bus and uh he did
06:38you know they left
06:39you know and i was kind of like whatever went about my day did my show and all that stuff
06:44and then uh
06:45tech nine gets on stage he's the headliner and uh right off the bat he goes uh before i start
06:51the
06:52show i want to introduce you know my my boy sid wilson from slipknot and i'm like oh sid wilson
06:58is
06:58here that's amazing and then all of a sudden i see these goofy guys get on stage and i'm thinking
07:04well
07:04maybe they're just going to film sid coming out well then the guy takes off his hat sunglasses and his
07:09mullet wig and it's sid and i'm just standing there like well at least you said you like the band
07:19yeah i did for sure it's just the other things i said you know and um so i'm kind of
07:25like well
07:25there goes that and all my friends were like bro are you you know how do you feel right now
07:29i'm like
07:29let's not talk about it whatever so uh when the show is over i'm back on the bus waiting for
07:35bus call
07:35and um sid pops on the bus and he walks right up to me and he's got my cd in
07:41his hand cd right you
07:42know 2004 and he goes this is the best shit strange music ever signed i want to work with
07:49you and then he just left and then you know a year later when i was in des moines i'm
07:54in a dressing
07:54room again playing there and uh somebody came up and said here sid's on the phone he wants you to
07:59come to his house tonight record a track and i did and then after that you know he went on
08:04tour
08:04with me actually once as my dj um which was crazy for me as a fan you know like yeah
08:10turning around
08:11and just like seeing sid behind me and i'm like this is happening you know yeah so i i had
08:17to i had
08:17to have you relive that story just because uh you told it to me the other day and i never
08:21knew that
08:21about you and it's like well that's a pretty interesting story so everyone should hear about
08:24it so yeah he's a good dude very good dude that's awesome well the reason we want to talk of
08:30course
08:30this is haunted michigan uh a haunting on the saginaw river the gray ghost and you're going
08:35to debut that on saturday november 7th so a week after halloween uh so tell everybody about this now
08:41you were you you you were on this this ship for how long yeah we were on the ship for
08:47almost three
08:49months in total you know filming because we we go really hard man you know there's a couple of weeks
08:55of just shooting b-roll uh getting on a boat and uh driving around the ship getting it from every
09:01angle you know drone work all that stuff interviews um with everybody uh staff members um museum curators
09:09individuals that actually served on the edson in vietnam we flew out you know for interviews
09:16and uh one gentleman nick actually gave us a drove of eight millimeter film that he shot personally
09:23while serving on the edson in vietnam which we were able to incorporate in the film but of course
09:29you know the basis of all of this is the paranormal claims uh they contacted us actually and said you
09:35know we are experiencing and have experienced a ton of paranormal activity aboard the ship would you guys
09:42be interested you know and i started doing research there's articles about paranormal activity going back
09:4710 years uh 15 years local media covering it and people from all around the world come to see this
09:54ship it resides on the saginaw river in bay city michigan and these people from around the world even
10:00have paranormal experiences and so we're thinking there's just too much here to not say yes i mean first
10:07of all being able to investigate a naval destroyer i've never done that you know i'm used to you know
10:14the
10:14creepy old houses and and old buildings and old town saginaw but this was something different you
10:21know and um and we just felt we had to at least go check it out and it did not
10:25disappoint and you
10:27were you were on the ship for three months um i don't know was this was this around your treatment
10:32or
10:32before or oh definitely before yeah i guess i should add that uh this this investigation actually was
10:40filmed a few years ago okay and uh things you know were so busy and hectic at the time
10:46um i hadn't got a chance to edit the film and this film it means a lot to us for
10:52a lot of reasons and i
10:53didn't want to start editing the film until i had the proper time to do it you know and we
11:00basically
11:01during covid that whole era we had filmed a ton of things but we couldn't get them out because as
11:08you
11:09know as people know with haunted saginaw what i do not with travel channel and all that but what i
11:13do
11:13here we we create a documentary film and we premiere it at the temple and that's the you know kind
11:21of the
11:21ritual if you will well because of covid we couldn't have a premiere until 2022 so that put us behind
11:28a
11:28couple of years so uh we had to kind of put out projects in the order that we needed to
11:33at the time
11:34so this one's been a long time coming how much um how much film do you think overall did you
11:40shoot
11:41i mean it's got to be hundreds thousands of hours huh terabytes yeah terabytes and terabytes of footage
11:48yeah that's the hardest thing about this is um filming that much and having to cut multiple thousands
11:59of hours down to two hours yeah is very difficult you end up cutting things that you can't believe
12:06you cut things that we you know we would talk about for a year afterwards like oh man wait till
12:12people
12:12see this and then later somehow you're going it doesn't fit there's not enough time well tell us
12:19something that you cut that's that people might have might be might be wowed i don't want to give i
12:23don't
12:23much give the movie away but what'd you cut what are we what are we not going to see um
12:27things that
12:28got cut were um injuries on the ship you know i slashed open my hand at one point uh really
12:36bad you
12:37know just kind of the you know moments where you realize it's dangerous filming in a location like that
12:43because of all the stairs and all the metal and and and uh being in the dark um tons of
12:50evps you know
12:51we i mean there's probably at least 300 400 that won't make it into the film because there's just
12:55not enough time um different pieces of evidence uh some interviews that couldn't make it just because
13:03you have to kind of prioritize things and then there were other issues with this film in particular
13:08uh there was a buzzing on the ship you know the electrical system and it really messed with our
13:14lavalier microphones and um so some interviews that were wonderful excellent
13:20great people great content important information couldn't use it you know um and even being in a
13:29giant steel ship like that you also run into other interference you know the microphone gets a little
13:36too far from you know the the receiver whatever um it it cuts in it cuts out it cuts in
13:42it cuts out and
13:43we're thinking man this isn't usable so there's a lot of stuff um but that being said honestly
13:50in my opinion this ranks up in the top three of all the films i've ever done um it's very
13:57to me
13:57to me it is uh to my crew it is we only showed it to a select group of people
14:03you know close people
14:05didn't even tell them what we wanted them to come over for we just said hey would you mind coming
14:10over
14:10you know blah blah blah sat them down and just hit play you know that way there's no expectation
14:17nothing and when it was said and done you know we had a list of questions and one of them
14:21were
14:22how would you rank this film and compared to the other 13 and every one of them said i would
14:28put it
14:28in the top two or the top three hmm wow yeah yeah that's crazy um so did you set up
14:35like a bunch of
14:36like uh just a bunch of cameras all over like in in like have like a i don't know a
14:42production room
14:43and just let the cameras roll uh throughout the days and the nights and just see what you see
14:49so not not in this particular investigation that that has been my style multiple times over the
14:56years um this location we did not because we had so many strange things taking place that we were
15:04actually worried about doing that and also uh there were different people once in a while that would
15:10have to come on board for things and it's very dark in that ship and it's easy to you know
15:16run
15:16into things and we didn't want you know the camera to face plant and lose a five thousand dollar lens
15:21or
15:21uh or whatnot but um you know the the duration of time that we investigated this ship cameras were
15:29running so much that we were definitely able to pick up a multitude of things wow uh can you tell
15:36us
15:36some of the things that you picked up or you want to you want to surprise everybody yeah i would
15:41say
15:41it's you know we could kind of leave it for for a surprise but we you know we went after
15:48a lot of
15:48different things in the ship you know and and other people's experiences you know so we you know a lot
15:54of
15:54people investigate this ship and that's another important fact that people have been investigating it
16:00for years you know they even were doing public investigations uh letting people come on board
16:06the edson and ghost hunts if you will um all night long so there's so many people coming in there
16:12having profound experiences we would hear about who they were bring them in for an interview and then go
16:18to where they were to kind of recreate that dynamic uh one gentleman um from the east coast he's a
16:26very
16:26well-known man his name is tim shaw um you know he's been seen a lot on television uh other
16:31you know
16:31major shows he's a psychic medium paranormal researcher he was on board the edson using a spirit
16:37board um actually uh one year and uh they were conducting some form of a seance and what they
16:45call the 9-11 room which is a very interesting story of why it's called that and a full body
16:50apparition
16:50was seen by him as well as members of the staff of the edson when we found that out we
16:55actually
16:56flew him out to recreate that dynamic in that room with the same individuals to see what would
17:02happen so it's very experiment based this particular documentary we wanted to experiment with areas and
17:12situations what other people have experienced to see what would happen by recreating that dynamic
17:16or those dynamics so who else did you uh fly in and you know it's funny you mention that because
17:22uh
17:23there have been many people i've interviewed for this uh you know for this podcast um that have that
17:28have gone on that ship and have said crazy things of course you're one of them as well but uh
17:33did you
17:33bring other people in as well to talk to yeah absolutely uh besides bringing uh tim shaw uh to to
17:40the edson um elizabeth saint you know she's a well-known investigator uh she's been seen a lot of times
17:46on television things like that and a good friend uh josh heard another well-known paranormal
17:51investigator and of course you know members of the haunted saginaw team and so you bring in these
17:57now you talked about bringing in some of the people that were actually on the boat or some people that
18:01have some experience with the boat yes yeah and i mean what kind of things did they tell you
18:06um a lot of things so you know one of the most really impactful interviews uh was a gentleman named
18:12nick candaris and uh we flew him in from new york um he served aboard the edson in vietnam in
18:19battle
18:19and again you know he uh had a luckily for us you know he loved film and had a camera
18:25and filmed a ton
18:26of things and gave us the footage which is i mean priceless but the one of the main reasons we
18:32flew
18:32nick out was there's a resident spirit so to speak that the staff and so many people
18:41swear is still residing on the ship a man named paul uh that worked aboard the edson and um had
18:49a heart
18:50attack while on the ship and people believe that his spirit still resides there um he's seen by so
18:57many people and uh this gentleman nick actually was very good friends with paul so we wanted to learn
19:03more about who paul was what is you know relationship was with the ship and um and a lot of
19:10things of that
19:10nature so you know nick was a just a great um asset to the investigation um in so many different
19:17ways
19:18but we interviewed a lot of gentlemen that were on board learned about what the edson did in battle
19:22it was a very powerful gunship um that deployed a lot of ammunition during the vietnam war um and one
19:30of
19:31the interesting things about it is even how it got its name the gray ghost of the vietnamese coast
19:36that actually came from the enemy which is interesting so you know the edson was out there
19:42doing what it does best you know and delivering a lot of ammo and the vietnamese uh did hit it
19:49and they thought they had sunk it and so you know the the word was you know through all the
19:54radio that
19:54you know they're deciphering the enemy's you know communications that they believe that they
20:00had destroyed it and sunk it but what happened was it was very foggy the edson took off and left
20:05you know dry docked and got fixed up and came back a few months later when it came back again
20:12it
20:12happened to be very foggy in the same area it came out of the fog and just unloaded on the
20:19areas that
20:20had attacked it and they were screaming over the microphone the enemies that it's a it's a ghost
20:25it's a ghost ship the gray ghost and that's how it got its name oddly enough from the enemy
20:29now did you uh did you make any contact with uh paul so
20:38yeah maybe i'll leave that for the film that's an interesting yeah i i made a uh you can say
20:43i made
20:44an executive decision um regarding paul in this investigation and i i kind of don't you know want
20:50to let the cat out of the bag of what that that's what that was yeah yeah no that's fair
20:55but if you
20:56were to ask me do i believe his presence is there in my opinion yes okay and and you were
21:04you were
21:04talking about how you normally do houses and buildings and different things like that uh this
21:10is your first ever boat uh aquatic vehicle that you've ever investigated yeah it's the first first
21:18ship i've ever investigated um and it came with it with its challenges you know it was it's definitely
21:25it's a challenging thing for so many reasons i mean number one let's talk about spiders
21:31if you aren't a fan of spiders you never want to go there you know we filmed in
21:37june july and august and even when you get to the edson you know you walk out onto a dock
21:43and you know you've got you've got the railings on both sides of you and they're covered in these
21:50spiders and they're i mean these are big spiders bodies are this big all over them the steps when
21:56you're walking on the outside even the inside you know how many times i can tell you and even
22:01watching the footage and laughing where i'm standing there talking and then you see a spider like right
22:06beside me or behind me just kind of drop down and go right back up they're everywhere man it's
22:11infested wow i didn't think that i wouldn't i wouldn't have thought that yes it's a thing for sure
22:18it's part of the you know the character of it birds dive bombing you constantly because they're
22:22building nests around and you're walking on the outside and they're swooping at you all angry
22:26so you know a lot of weird things there um heat a steel ship baking in the you know the
22:34humid michigan
22:35summer and the sun all day long so even when it's three in the morning and you're investigating
22:39you're you're in a 95 degree room or 100 degree room down there sweating so much that your
22:45black shirt has white rings around it from the salt from the sodium leaving your body
22:51that type of thing i mean it's it's very challenging um even getting gear in and out of certain areas
22:58down in hatches is very difficult and i was going to ask what about uh tourists don't they take people
23:05on these ships all the time they do yep so so we would we would work around that as much
23:10as possible
23:10to not interfere or interrupt that that was one thing that was very touching to see is that
23:15um first of all the people at the ed center fantastic they they do this out of love most of
23:21the people there are volunteers and um they you know they love the tourists that come there uh they
23:27give tours they'll answer anybody's questions and we're seeing people from around the world that's
23:33what blew me away you know you'd be hearing people speaking multiple different languages you know
23:37german uh so many different things they're coming from from hungary um all these different countries
23:43to pay respects to this place and visit it not just from around the u.s or the state but
23:48even abroad
23:49and uh it was very touching to see um the level of commitment from the staff and and just kind
23:58of
23:58the love from the people coming to the ship and you would see people that you know had served in
24:03different naval capacities military capacities going there with their kids and their kids are
24:08seeing a glimpse of what they went through in saying you know dad so you were on a ship like
24:14this
24:14you know yes and you know and they're kind of like man you and you guys slept in beds this
24:19small and
24:20crammed and and you know and you were this far from home and being shot at and it's like you're
24:25just
24:25it's like living history wow and would would this incline you to uh to maybe investigate more boats
24:33more ships yeah ships yeah definitely don't never say the word boat right right right i made that
24:38mistake once you know early on and i and so i was i was corrected multiple times and now it's
24:44always
24:44the ship yeah you know then i would say battleship and i was corrected this is not a battleship
24:50this is a sherman class destroyer so yeah so though they're quick to correct you i guess rightfully
24:58so there's a protocol there but yeah no i would love to do more you know in the future it's
25:03kind
25:04of interesting since we we brought up the topic of the great ghost i had a facebook comment they were
25:08very heated about the great ghost title just one person you know and it i i may be wrong on
25:15this but
25:15i'm pretty sure they they wanted to let me know that the great ghost is referred to as um that
25:21famous
25:21ship in uh what is it long beach california uh what's that ship called right now i'm sorry chemo
25:27brain is is rocking it's a very infamous ship fantastic location and uh but we didn't name it
25:33the great ghost yeah the end of the vietnamese yeah right it's been referred to that for you know 50
25:39some years um so but yeah if there's any confusion we just went with exactly what it's been called all
25:46these years and what it's been you know referred to as now of course you're not too far uh from
25:52uh
25:52the uh what is that whitefish point is that right where uh where yeah i mean there's been some ships
25:59obviously that went down up there and stuff have you ever investigated that stuff no no no i have not
26:05yeah yeah it's interesting that you bring up kind of aquatic hauntings right because um there's a friend
26:11of mine a guy named ron and uh he were you know he talks about a lighthouse in michigan it's
26:18about 20
26:19miles out into the water and it's supposedly uh very haunted you know people that work at this
26:26lighthouse talk about it there's blogs about it and uh apparently you can go stay there you can
26:32actually rent it out you know with a group of people they bring you out by boat drop you off
26:36and you can stay in there and uh you know we were thinking about maybe investigating that
26:42which would be interesting in itself you know now i'm kind of getting into the
26:45the aquatic hauntings yeah i've i've heard some crazy stories about lighthouses that have been haunted
26:53um there's one i want to say in the in the up up on the western side i think uh
26:58comes to mind uh but um
27:00no that's right yeah the the that stuff have you ever have you ever i mean let me ask you
27:05this is
27:06is there a place do you think that the the entire planet is haunted um if you're just looking for
27:11it you'll find it or are there places where you're like there's nothing happening here okay so of course
27:18you know this is subjective and so opinion based in my opinion today at this moment i feel
27:27if you are looking for it you will find it you know i think that there is spirit activity all
27:33around
27:33i think that there is other activity uh dark activity that's always around um i think if
27:41people go digging digging and trying to communicate something will communicate with you whether that's
27:48a good thing or a bad thing but of course obviously certain locations um are way more robust with
27:56activity for certain reasons definitely of course that's you know that's fact but i do believe
28:02if you're trying to open doors of communication pretty much anywhere that can happen it's just a
28:09matter of what are you communicating with and when you were on the uh on the gray ghost was there
28:15ever a time and you don't have to get specific or even tell me a story but were there ever
28:20times where
28:21where it was frightening there there were a few communications that were a little shocking you
28:35know uh what you know one thing uh going back to one of your earlier questions is there anything we're
28:41not gonna see two things about that one i do i do have a patreon channel where footage like this
28:50will
28:50ultimately get released so people can enjoy what they didn't see as well as 99 of that content is
28:57all exclusive we're talking hundreds of episodes that nobody has ever seen um so this will ultimately
29:06get seen but there was an investigation that we did in the bolson's locker where there's this hole
29:13for lack of a better word and we kept hearing this tapping in there then we heard a whispering
29:19coming from it and we're all looking at each other like what is happening right now and so i get
29:25down
29:25on my knees and i get right up to this hole and i'm sticking my hand in there with you
29:30know with this
29:30dr 60 recorder and i'm asking questions and this vocal comes through this audio and it screams which is
29:39very cliche i don't know why spirits do this so much but it screams get out in the most angriest
29:48loudest and clearest way you can imagine and we told the spirit we did say right before this if you
29:55don't want us here let us know because we wanted to be ultra respectful i mean we always are but
30:01being
30:02on board a military ship you know my father was military my brother was military uh other members
30:07of the crew had military families so we wanted to be very respectful here and we said at any point
30:13if you don't want us in this bolson's locker you tell us and we'll leave once it screamed get out
30:21my reaction is a little comical because i did not expect it and uh we just grabbed our gear said
30:27goodbye
30:28thank you for your time and we just left you know so did you return not to the bolson's locker
30:35nope
30:36we kept our word on that we really did yeah uh in so many other interesting things too this this
30:42one i'm going to mention is in the film but you know using a geoport device um we were in
30:47a room
30:48called the radio room and there was top secret clearance needed to be in that room because they
30:52were in there listening to enemies uh communication and um one of the things that the box said was
30:59what's your rank which i thought was very interesting almost like what are you doing in here what's your
31:04rank and so that leads me to believe that i'm aboard the edson i believe that there is intelligent
31:10haunts and i believe that there's residual haunts taking place you know because it makes you wonder
31:16that what's your rank was that a person that knew they were deceased or were they still in battle
31:24were they still there you know living as if they weren't is it parallel what what is it and that's
31:29kind
31:29of one of the very fascinating things about the paranormal you know there's a lot of things we know
31:37there's a lot of things that we understand but paranormal is just that i mean we're never going
31:43to have the answers ultimately i don't believe until well you can you know right right yeah and like you
31:49said though before you you know everybody should know i mean everyone you know it kind of goes without
31:55saying it everything you say here is of your opinion yeah yeah i always specify that only just because
32:01you know i don't want to come across as one of those people that feel they have all the answers
32:07i always try to stress to people we don't right we don't have all the answers all we can do
32:12as
32:13investigators or documentarians or just you know humans experiencing is we can collect evidence we can
32:20have experiences we can try to decipher what what it is who it is why it is but we can't
32:28understand
32:28that you know and maybe even in a thousand years we won't understand it i don't know how we'll ever
32:33have definitive answers because a lot of people kind of give definitive answers but i don't you know i
32:39don't know how you can with with a subject like this you know right exactly it's so subjective it is
32:46yeah
32:46everyone's experience is different everyone's religion is different everyone's world view and lens is
32:52different you know we we all receive information in a different way right but when everybody hears uh words
32:58uh from a an entity or whatever saying get out everyone hears that yes yeah so to me i mean
33:05that's obviously very intelligent i mean i would definitely say that was a classic evp and we received
33:09a ton of them you know on that ship that's one thing that that was very shocking was the amount
33:15of
33:15evps that we captured and for those listening that don't know what an evp is you know electronic voice
33:20phenomenon ultimately you're asking questions you're recording or you're just recording and not asking
33:26questions and you're hearing disembodied voices talking meaning nobody was in the room or nobody
33:31should have made those responses but they did and they're very clear words sentences phrases um with
33:39intelligence that seem to correspond with with the moment and sometimes you hear those things when
33:45you're there and sometimes you hear it when you listen back don't you yes very much so and that is
33:51super
33:51interesting interesting on a lot of levels so one thing over the years i've noticed is you can have
33:56three or four cameras in a room and you catch an evp on one of them and you go to
34:02the to the audio on
34:03the other ones because of course you're saying hey this is awesome maybe one of the other cameras
34:07caught it clearer and we'll use that audio but then the other cameras didn't catch it at all
34:13and they're only a few feet away from each other how is that possible yeah i guess uh that's one
34:19of
34:19the uh the mysteries of our time that we'll never be able to figure out like there's a lot of
34:23stuff
34:24that you just don't you won't ever find out so yeah because scientifically i guess or from a
34:28technology standpoint how does that make sense right you know well wrapping things up here is there
34:34anything that uh that you did that we didn't cover that that that the uh the people should know and
34:38by the way this happens on saturday november 7th maybe give us some uh ticket info as well
34:42about this temple theater sure um i guess what i would say in conclusion about the great ghosts
34:48the uss edson battleship it's extremely active um extremely active we were actually blown away
34:56with the amount of activity that we captured um it has a lot of history to it there's a lot
35:01of emotion
35:02think about the people that served on there in battle all that emotion you know being trapped in
35:08that steel cage if you will uh there's a lot of power there there's a lot of energy there um
35:14you can
35:14go and tour it which i highly suggest it's a it's a beautiful place it's a symbolic place
35:20and even on top of that they actually even do a haunting a haunted house there so in october it's
35:27called i believe the edson incident you know and it's and people love it you know you go there
35:31so you're actually going through a haunted attraction in an actually haunted location right right you know
35:39which is really interesting to say the least you know and that'll be going all through october and
35:43people can check that out or just tour it on a normal day or do both um the worldwide premiere
35:49of
35:49this film that we did um will be at the temple theater in saginaw historic temple theater uh november
35:557th saturday as you said one week from halloween uh you can get tickets either by calling the temple
36:00theater uh box office going there in person or just temple theater.com and uh tickets go on sale uh
36:08september 25th at 10 a.m oh oh okay september okay all right so as we record this on friday
36:13i'm
36:14thinking to myself wait a second it's going to sell two weeks september 25th gotcha all right well
36:18i gotta make the trip up there for the red carpet maybe i'll wear my best um tuxedo t-shirt
36:23yeah yeah
36:25that'd be great if you could come up man it's a it's a great time this is our 14th documentary
36:30documentary and uh so we've you know we've had uh 14 years of premieres at the temple theater
36:36i think i sent you a video once before i mean it's a huge crowd and people it's turned into
36:41a
36:42tradition in this area and that's what's so fun about it is you know you watch video you know we
36:47have camera guys out getting footage of the event and people are standing in line and making friends
36:52you know because you're standing in line and you're looking over and you're just talking and it's like oh you
36:57know you you hear those conversations this is my ninth film what about you i've been here for all
37:0214 oh this is my first one and people are coming in from uh different states we've had people coming
37:08from different countries you know ireland the uk australia coming here just for the premiere
37:16which blows me away so i mean really at this point it's not mine anymore it's everybody's you know
37:23what this thing i that i yes i created it but it's everybody's property now it's saginaw it's the
37:29community it's it's an event you know people have been coming for so many years that you know you
37:36remember them and now their kids are i don't know 25 years old 28 years old and they keep coming
37:41and
37:42you know it just it just it's really turned into something special you know way beyond anything that i
37:47ever envisioned you know all those years ago and a final question for you what is it like when
37:53you're watching your documentary being watched by several hundred a thousand people or whatever
37:58what is it like to to watch their reaction at oh you talking about the premiere specifically yeah
38:05very cool i mean for many many years i used to sit right in the center of the theater and
38:11just sit in
38:12there you know just trying to hang out i kind of quit doing that because you know you kind of
38:16look over
38:17and you'd see you know people just kind of sitting there filming you and i didn't want to be a
38:21distraction because you know i want people to see focus on the movie but it's awesome because you get
38:26to really you know you can watch the film with other people that you you know that that are friends
38:32of
38:32yours and get opinions but nothing can possibly be beat sitting in a room of 2 000 people you know
38:39temples basically 2 000 seats and you're you're you're hearing their reactions um gasping laughing
38:46jumping um in every little mixture of everything you know and it's it's it's it's i'm lucky to have
38:55that you know so many filmmakers don't ever experience that you know they they produce something they put
39:00it out they see ratings stars comments things like that but you'll but until you have an experience
39:06like that it's it's uh it's hard to beat you know well that's if that makes sense it does make
39:12sense
39:13it makes a lot of sense you know it's funny i always ask i always ask like bands like what's
39:17it like to put out a record and i guess they'll never really have that chance let's have a record
39:21release party of sorts but you know what i'm saying it's like that when their record goes out
39:25like the new anthrax just came out i listened to it at my house you know frank bellow and scott
39:29ian are not there watching me listen to it you know what i'm saying so they released a new record
39:34yeah it just came out on friday that's awesome i was in an elevator once with scott ian
39:39oh yeah yeah no they they thanked me on the record which blew my mind like i like i don't
39:45know
39:45you know getting back into music here again we go again but i've been thanked on other records they
39:50never tell you and also you pick up the record like holy why anthrax thanked me i'm not sure i
39:54mean
39:54frank and scott are i guess they're friends of mine um but if you look at the picture i posted
40:00online
40:00dave grohl and black sabbath and all these names are around my name it's like maybe it was a different
40:05meltdown i don't know now well you know you're one of those guys man i mean you know i've known
40:11about you forever you know that's why when you first reached out i was like heck yeah you know
40:15i did music for 20 years so i know what that's like when you when you have a good relationship
40:20and a rapport with somebody in your position it's no longer about what station or what company or what
40:27podcast you know you you know how that is man you know like when you're when you're a musician
40:32or an artist that they kind of become your friends and your family because you spend more time
40:38uh unfortunately you know doing things like that than you do hanging out with your old buddies or
40:44yeah things like that does that make sense oh it makes a lot of sense yeah and uh like i
40:48said i
40:49don't spend a ton of time with with the anthrax guys but they were nice enough to include me and
40:53um
40:53that was like a very yeah very humbling moment for sure i'm like man but uh well listen man you
41:00were
41:00just saying that you were lucky enough to uh to be able to see the reaction of people we're lucky
41:03enough to have you and i'm so grateful that you're uh back on the mend and and really happy to
41:08uh talk
41:09to you like i was saying earlier before always uh wishing the best for you and uh i november 7th
41:14i'm
41:14making a note right now i'm going to take the trek up to saginaw and see you that would be
41:19great yeah
41:19we'd love to have you experience it man it's it's one of those things you know you just kind of
41:23need to
41:24to be there to experience it you know and if you ever want to do an investigation with us let
41:29us know
41:29i would love that yeah we'll go on board the edson or wherever you want to go yeah you someone
41:36say
41:36get out i'm like i'm gone see you later it happens i leave a lot i believe that yeah all
41:43right brother
41:43thank you so much man good luck we'll see you in a couple weeks or i guess a month or
41:46so okay
