01:18Don't you see that it is those who rely on faith who are the sons and daughters of Abraham?
01:26Scripture foresaw that God was going to use faith to justify the pagans and proclaim the good news long ago.
01:34When Abraham was told, he knew all the pagans would be blessed.
01:40Those, therefore, who rely on faith receive the same blessings as Abraham, the man of faith.
01:46On the other hand, those who rely on keeping of the law are under a curse, since Scripture says,
01:55Cursed be everyone who does not persevere in observing everything prescribed in the book of the law.
02:03The law will not justify anyone in the sight of God, because we are told the righteous person finds life
02:11through faith.
02:12The law is not even based on faith, since we are told the man who practices these precepts finds life
02:22through practicing them.
02:24Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by being cursed for our sake.
02:31Since Scripture says, Cursed be everyone who is hanged on a tree.
02:36This was done so that in Christ Jesus, the blessing of Abraham, might include the pagans,

04:07When Jesus had cast out a devil, some of the people said,
04:11It is to be as a bull, the prince of devils, that he casts out devils.
04:17Others asked Jesus as a test for a sign from heaven.
04:21But knowing what they were thinking, he said to them,
04:25Every kingdom divided against itself is heading for ruin,
04:29and a household divided against itself collapses.
04:33So too with Satan.
04:35If he is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand?
04:40Since you assert that it is to be as a bull that I cast out devils.
04:45Now, if it is to be as a bull that I cast out devils,
04:50through whom do your own experts cast them out?
04:53Let them be your judges then.
04:56But if it is to the finger of God that I cast out devils,
05:00then know that the kingdom of God is overtaking you.
05:05So long as a strong man fully armed guards his own place,
05:09his goods are undisturbed.
05:10But when someone stronger than he is attacks and defeats him,
05:15the stronger man takes away all the weapons he relied on
05:19and shears out his spoil.
05:22He who is not with me is against me,
05:25and the one who does not gather with me scatters.
05:31When an unclean spirit goes out of a person,
05:34it wanders through the world of this country,
05:36looking for a place to rest,
05:38and not finding one, it says,
05:40I will go back to the home I came from.
05:43But on arrival, finding it swept and tidied,
05:46it then goes off and brings seven other spirits
05:49more wicked than itself,
05:51and they go in and set up house there,
05:53so that the person ends up being worse than they were before.

06:01Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:04We are called to steadfastness and fidelity,
06:09not just a conversion once.
06:11It's an ongoing process.
06:14If we resist the power of evil,
06:17we keep on doing that not by our own power
06:19or by laws and regulations,
06:21but by the power of God.
06:23The laws and regulations are important
06:26because they point us with a discipline
06:29into commitment and love.
06:31They are not an end in themselves.
06:34Our relationship with God
06:35is about the relationship of love,
06:37and that is what counts.
06:39And all the other stuff is there to help us
06:42so that we can stay in that direction,
06:45committed and focused,
06:47because we get distracted.
06:49So we rely on the power of God
06:51who keeps drawing us back all the time
06:53into that relationship.
06:55And we resist the power of evil.
06:57Jesus told us, you know,
06:59prayer and fasting are an important part of our life,
07:02that we need some discipline.
07:03We need some structure.
07:04We need some...
07:07We need a discipline to help us,
07:09some detachment.
07:11There's so much gratification
07:14bombarded to us
07:15in advertisements,
07:17in the media,
07:18in films and so on.
07:20Gratification is not bad in itself.
07:22If you are hungry, you eat.
07:24If you are cold, you stay warm,
07:26et cetera, et cetera.
07:27There's a place
07:28where men get disproportionate
07:30and when we act out of gratification
07:32instead of our relationship with God
07:34and the life of the gospel,
07:36the life of a disciple,
07:37then we are putting ourselves in jeopardy.
07:41And God is warning us not to do that
07:43because God loves us.
07:44And of course, it's the grace of God
07:46that preserves us.
07:48We are all a work in progress.
07:50So we keep surrendering to God
07:52and saying,
07:52yes,

07:54yes,
07:55your will be done in my life.

08:05we have this bread to offer
08:07which God has given human hands
