00:00Audio courtesy of TBS, Jose, Jose, Jose, Jose, Jose, Jose, oh, he can't hit the playoffs,
00:11it ruins his legacy, he can't do anything in the playoffs, okay, cram it with walnuts,
00:18ugly, well now he's got help, right, he's got help, that was the big concern, he's got
00:21some help around him, it's true, that's actually a good point, as the Guardians now have, according
00:26to the statistics, except for Angel Martinez, but everybody else is doing fantastic,
00:30no, wait, are you kidding me, he had a massive hit by pitch yesterday, you know what, every
00:35little bit counts, where he could not be bothered to try to escape, that's true, the disaster,
00:41the pending doom, that was an incoming ball, and just like that, your Guardians have forced
00:48a win or stay at home game five, did the Roger Dorn, that was amazing, excellent, quite excellent,
00:57good morning, everybody, Kayla's in for Owen today, what a thrill, we love Kayla, we're
01:01just giving her a hard time, when he hit that home run, I swear to God, there aren't many
01:05moments in a long time in baseball, oh yeah, that get me to jump off a couch, and that was
01:11one of them, you jumped off the couch, I jumped off a couch, my mouth was agape, and the drinks
01:18were flowing at Club Lima last night, it was unbelievable, oh, I, I might have texted somebody,
01:27smells like the drinks were flowing at Club Lima last night, I brushed my teeth, come on,
01:33I didn't say you didn't brush your teeth, I took a shower, I didn't say you didn't take
01:37a shower, but did I bathe in champagne, if you would have just had vodka, then you, your
01:43pores wouldn't be stinking so bad, it was mostly vodka, really, yeah, yeah, last night, the
01:51bourbon had to take a back seat, you're not sweating that bad though, no, you got that
01:54going for you, all right, good morning, Guardians got it 2-2 now, it's a 2-2 series, now this
01:59is weird, because, you know, they're down 0-2 in the series, and I told you before the
02:03series started, like, there are some people over at the corner of Carnegie, Ontario, involved
02:08in the baseball, not just ancillary figures that we talked to, and I mean, they were non-non-worried,
02:17I don't know what the word would be, they just didn't care about the White Sox, it was
02:20like, it was all focused, Rays or Yankees, it was not any concern with the White Sox really
02:26at all, which is odd, I understand, to a lot, because it's like, how could you take a team
02:32unseriously, and then they're down 0-2 in the series, like, oh gosh, because I'd mentioned
02:36that on the air before, before game one, I said, hey, you know, talking to some people,
02:40they don't, they don't consider them really a big-time threat whatsoever, now it's a 2-2
02:44series, and I mean, there's people in my message, or in my text messages, like, no, that's, that's
02:52a series, I'm like, oh, easy, easy, like, coming back home, Jose Ramirez did a fantastic job
02:59last night, because you need, obviously, you need guys to step up when you need them to step
03:03up, legends to step up, and he was a legend that stepped up last night, so now, you know,
03:07I kind of asked everybody, do you expect them to win now, 2-1-6-4-7-4-0-0
03:12-92, I think
03:12you'd be hard-pressed to find anybody who does it, do you, well, I don't know, man, I don't
03:16know, it's, it's a series, it is Cleveland fans, I'm not trying to ask people to be pessimistic,
03:24I'm asking people to be honest, if they think they're going to win the series, or if they
03:28believe that the series is won now, I'd like to hear you on that, if you feel like, kind
03:34of the way I do, where it's like, hey, let's, let's not count chickens here, let's just make
03:40sure all our T's are crossed, and lowercase J's are dotted, on Saturday night, go out there
03:45and win the series, and then we'll talk about the Tampa Bay Rays, then fine, but do you,
03:50expecting victory and hoping for victory are obviously two different things there, Anthony,
03:54But they do kind of merge, they do kind of merge this time of year in baseball, where
03:58every game is its own ecosystem, no two games are the same, as much as it was so hard, it
04:05did feel like the first two games were the same, we couldn't get anybody on base, and
04:08now all of a sudden, we lead the majors in the playoffs for runs per game, and on base
04:13percentage, so, what was, what was the one Achilles heel for the team, can't get guys
04:18on base, actually, we have gotten guys on base better than any team in the playoffs, including
04:22the Dodgers, so, is that just because it's added all up now, after last night, are you
04:26saying, because, in the first two games, and I misquoted, and I was sorry, I should have
04:31apologized earlier about that, because somebody, a couple of people on Twitter, corrected me
04:35on it, and then my producer corrected me on it, or, in both the first two games, there
04:40were only three Guardians total, who were on base in both games, not just all together,
04:46in both games, there were only three, so, like, you had a lot of people who were just
04:51not doing anything, in the first couple of games of this series, and then, the other
04:56night, a lot of people did things, and then basically, everybody did something last night,
05:00everybody did something last night, it's just an incredible turnaround, to see how different
05:04these games have been, what a journey, I mean, yesterday, I poked, I poked my head into
05:09the toxic social media last night, after the Tanner Bybee situation, where he came in, it
05:16was a total disaster, and everybody wanted to fire a vote, everybody was willing to give
05:22him away to Seattle, and then, you know, again, the incredible, incredible things that had happened
05:29in that game yesterday, I'm gonna get the vote at 620, but, go ahead, just, just thinking
05:33about how, he goes to a pinch hitter, takes hedges out, puts Bailey in, boom, changes the
05:40game, and it's just like, one by one, these, these, just incredible happenstances, uh, change
05:46the fortunes of a baseball team, that looked like they were on total life support, and in
05:52just a couple of days now, they've put all the pressure, and I mean all the pressure, on
05:58the White Sox, 216-474-0092, so do you expect victory now, uh, coming up, and, and, and by
06:05the way, it could be for multiple different reasons, I think that if I were gonna say
06:08I expect victory, it'd be one, you know, you're the team that's been to the postseason
06:12before over the last couple of years, they're the team that lost 100 plus games over the
06:16last three years, uh, you could say you expect victory because you hold them to a higher
06:19standard, you could say, you do not have to be, I, I really just want to kind of take
06:24the temperature after such a big game last night, you know, where people are on it, because
06:28I, I'm, I'm not expecting victory, I'm not, I, I, I'm in a weird place, I don't think they're
06:36gonna lose, but I'm not willing to just go overboard and go, we've won the series, we're
06:41going to the ALCS, this is a great run, we'll see the Tampa Bay, uh, we'll see the Tampa
06:45Bay Rays, like, I, I'm, I'm just not there yet, because it's like, all right, come back
06:49home, and I don't like, I have to admit, I don't like a day off in between, I wish they
06:54were coming back home and just playing tonight, I, I, I know it's a weird thing, travel, even
06:59with Gavin Williams pitching in the final inning, I understand that, and they wouldn't
07:02have, you're right, even with Gavin Williams pitching in the final inning, it's still
07:07like, I, the bats, I just want them to be in a rhythm, and I think once they can get
07:12into a rhythm like they have over these last couple of nights, that, like, a body in motion
07:18tends to stay in motion, a team in motion tends to stay in motion, it is a game, like,
07:23days off, I think it hurt you, I think the days off kind of hurt the Guardians in game
07:27one and game two, at least game one, and game two, you really don't have a huge excuse,
07:32but the days off, I do think affected them in game one, it, it affects, to me, it affects
07:37the young order, 216-474-0092, but maybe plenty of people disagree with that, Don in Cleveland,
07:43you're first up on the fan, hello, Don. Good morning, guys, how you doing? Doing well, Don,
07:48go ahead. So, you asked if I expect us to win, I kind of do expect to win Saturday, it's
07:56a
07:57home game, we have what looks to be a possible three-time manager of the year, you know, three
08:03years straight, I'm assuming Gavin Williams is still going to start Saturday? Yeah, yeah.
08:12You know, so yes, I do expect it, we have a veteran team that's been to the playoffs with
08:17some nice young rookies, Chicago doesn't really have a lot of playoff experience, but I'm not
08:22looking at it as if it's a foregone conclusion, especially considering last night, I think,
08:29for the, at least second, if not the third game in the series, we had some key arms that
08:34just seem to be pitching afraid, they seem to be pitching from a, from a standpoint of their
08:41scared of the moment, I'll start with Stabrowski in game two, either he was scared or he just
08:47wasn't ready, those nine pitches, he threw nine pitches, I think four were in the dirt,
08:53I personally feel that vote should have pulled him immediately, and I want to get your guys'
08:59opinion, you know, a manager can do something wrong, you can criticize a manager and yet not
09:05be screaming for his job, correct?
09:07Yeah.
09:09I, you know, who, who would dare say fire folks?
09:12That's the silliest thing I've ever heard of in my life.
09:14Well, it's, I would say it's not about firing him, I, I, I.
09:16Some were saying trade him.
09:18Yeah, there's, because there's that story that came out, Don, stay with us for a second,
09:22there's that story that came out, Seattle Times, about him, you know, maybe being a candidate
09:27for the Mariner's job, and so a lot of people have latched onto that, I mean, like,
09:30and any time they're upset, they're like, send him, get him out of there, get him out
09:33of there, like, that type of thing.
09:35Yeah, so that's silly, but then you go to last night, I don't know how you guys feel
09:39about how he handled the end of the game last night, but Ron Dowling made a comment that
09:44I completely agree with, at some point, as a professional in this league, you have to
09:49pitch to the scoreboard, and it just seemed like in that last, you know, two and a half
09:54innings, some guys were not pitching as if they had a four or five run lead.
09:58Like, now, don't get me wrong, you know, it's an elimination game still.
10:03It felt like we had the game wrapped up, but that lineup for Chicago can hit a bomb
10:07in the bottom of the ninth, so it just felt like some of these guys were pitching
10:11afraid, and then the last question I have for you is, is it guaranteed, have they said
10:16that Gavin Williams is starting Saturday, because he threw, like, 29 pitches, right?
10:19I would very much believe he is.
10:22He had that many?
10:22I would very much believe he is starting on Saturday.
10:25No, he had 18.
10:25He had 18 pitches.
10:26Yeah.
10:26Don, our boss is in.
10:28I got to let you go.
10:29Thank you very much for the call.
10:30All right, let's go to the Wiseheart Wright, We Make It Right, called Kyle Wright Hotline.
10:33Hello, Keith.
10:35Well, I was just going to sit through three more questions if you had them.
10:38I, I, I, Ken, you got to be careful.
10:41These 25, 30-year-old players, you cannot let them hearing you talk about playoff expectations.
10:45It's coming up.
10:46I promise it's coming up.
10:47And expecting the wins, you got to be careful with that.
10:49You're going to set unrealistic expectations.
10:52You just can't do it.
10:53These players are not, they can't handle that.
10:56The second thing I was going to tell you, you guys, I know it's a home game.
11:01Everybody loves it.
11:01They're going to pop the park, whatever.
11:03It was pointed out last night, Anthony and Jake on our post-game show on YouTube.
11:07Yeah, on YouTube.
11:08They did a great job.
11:09Yep.
11:09They pointed out the fact that this team is basically a 500 team at home.
11:13And they, you saw how they played on the road.
11:14Their offense came alive.
11:16Back's against the wall.
11:17This team seems to play their best.
11:18Would you almost rather this team be on the road in this situation?
11:21Well, why don't you just give away the four hours of the show, Keith?
11:25I'll keep it to one question.
11:28I appreciate the time.
11:29It is funny.
11:29He was on the wise heart, right?
11:30We make a right called Kyle, right?
11:32There obviously has been quite literally no home field advantage in this series.
11:36And I don't know what it is about just like batters pressing in big moments.
11:41Although yesterday, that really wasn't as much the case for the White Sox.
11:45I mean, they could put runs on a board.
11:46It's just their pitchers could not locate anything.
11:51I mean, if you just came in at any point in the last, at any point in this series, and
11:57you just watch, you're like, are these two of the best, however many teams left in baseball?
12:00You're like, no, no chance.
12:02Come on.
12:02Where's the pitching?
12:03Where?
12:03It's just so funny.
12:04I mean, the Guardians have had like 40 base runners the last two games, which is not
12:09playoff baseball, which is decidedly not what we're used to this time of year.
12:13So you just blow up the formula, blow up the blueprint.
12:16None of this makes sense when you get to this time of year.
12:19So funny.
12:19We sit there during the regular season and we break down and there are guys that do this,
12:25have great, great baseball shows, great baseball podcasts, and they break down what it's going
12:31to look like in the playoffs.
12:32And then before you know it, you have Gavin Williams coming in in the ninth inning of
12:37a game where Cade Smith gives up a bomb when you have a five-run lead in game four.
12:44And then you look at the White Sox and it's just every inning, new pitcher, every inning.
12:49And they've lived by it and they could possibly die by it.
12:522-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
12:54Do you expect victory now in this series that it's tied to two?
12:59And I wanted to get to that question coming up at eight o'clock.
13:01So let's hold off on what Keith just said about rather being on the road because I
13:05do have a counterpoint to that, but you got to hold off until 8 a.m.
13:08this morning to hear it.
13:09Daryl Ryder going to join us at 8.22.
13:10We'll split the difference with him.
13:12He is our Cleveland Sports Insider.
13:13We will talk Guardians with him.
13:15We will obviously talk Browns with him.
13:17Big game coming up on Sunday.
13:18And I know it doesn't feel that way against a one and three team, but it is because a lot
13:22of people are saying trap.
13:23And yes, what Keith said about playoffs, that coming up at around 643 because I got into a heated
13:28argument with another show yesterday afternoon that I, I called in on the red line and decided
13:34to let my opinion be known.
13:352-1-6-4-7-4-0-92.
13:37Do you expect victory now with the Cleveland Guardians?
