A delegation of leaders from the opposition INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, and Mallikarjun Kharge, met President Droupadi Murmu to present a memorandum regarding alleged electoral malpractice and concerns surrounding the Election Commission of India. Speaking after the meeting, alliance leaders stated that the President listened to their concerns and asked for evidence to be furnished, which the opposition agreed to submit. The leaders alleged that multiple elections were compromised and called for reverting from electronic voting machines to paper ballots. The memorandum also raised objections regarding the Chief Election Commissioner and demanded accountability to protect democratic integrity. Delegation members noted that after protests and detentions, they approached the President and plan to submit a memorandum to the Supreme Court of India on Monday to take their fight forward on multiple fronts.

01:41I just sat in a quite a unbelievable meeting.
01:50Okay.
01:52Mamata Ji is saying it mildly.
01:59Let me say it as it happened.
02:01The first thing is, we took a memorandum to the President of India.
02:07On that memorandum, we clearly said that the Prime Minister, Mr. Amit Shah, Gyanesh Kumar have conspired to destroy Indian
02:19democracy.
02:21The President in no way denied what we said, in no way questioned what we said, in no way argued
02:35what we said.
02:38She accepted our statement and then she said to us that we need to bring her proof of election jury.
02:55I said that the proof of election jury is known to the whole country.
03:02State after state has been stolen.
03:0624 election, as you know, has been stolen.
03:10And yet the President wants us to take Saboot proof to her.
03:16This same group of people will very happily take the proof of election jury that we have collected to the
03:24President of India when she is ready to accept it.
03:28Main thing to say is that I actually expected the President of India to deny that vote jury is taking
03:35place.
03:36I expected the President of India to say that, no, actually, India has a free and fair election system.
03:43And I was shocked and I was stunned that the President of India accepted what we said.
03:48I'd like to repeat what I said in Hindi.
03:50I was shocked and I was shocked and I was shocked and I was shocked and I was shocked and
04:04surprised by the President of India.
04:11I was shocked and I was shocked and surprised by the President of India.
04:15I was shocked and surprised by the President of India.
04:40ま lot of audience, who knows you won't,
05:13Thank you very much.
05:20First of all, we met all the opposition MPs from the Chief Election Commissioner.
05:30We detained him, and stopped the police station.
05:38That day, we said that you don't protest here.
05:49We stopped there.
05:54We stopped there.
05:55We stopped the president.
05:56The Supreme Court, the whole group,
06:04and took a memorandum for the Chief Justice,
06:07and took a memorandum for the Supreme Court.
06:12We are trying to open it.
06:14We didn't leave any way.
06:27All right, viewers, this is after the India delegation had gone to meet the president of the country.
06:33Draupadi Murmuji had given them time at 8pm.
06:37The meeting has just finished, and Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banuji, along with the Congress President, Mr. Kharge,
06:46just spoke right now to the media.
06:48In attendance are also other India Alliance MPs.
06:53They went and met the president.
06:54Rahul Gandhi said that we presented a memorandum to the president of this country,
06:59which included, of course, that the CEC of the country, who reports to the president of India,
07:05because the election commission of India as a constitutional body stepped down.
07:09They also said that the country now revert to ballot paper from EVMs,
07:13even suggesting that they had no confidence in the EVM system,
07:18also said that multiple elections in the last couple of years have been compromised and need to be redone.
07:25And Rahul Gandhi said the president told the delegation of India Alliance members,
07:30you can see Supriya Sule also right behind Mamata Banuji, who spoke to the press,
07:34said that the president told them that they need to furbish proof.
07:38As per Rahul Gandhi, the president patiently heard them out.
07:42She didn't refute their claims.
07:44She accepted what they had to say and then ended it with that the India delegation
07:50will now need to give her proof that elections in the country are being compromised,
07:56to which Rahul Gandhi said that the delegation will furbish proof to the president.
08:03What you see right now on your television screen are the group of MPs
08:08that spanned the entire India Alliance, who had met the president at 8pm,
08:13coming out, speaking to the media.
08:15Mamata Banuji, Rahul Gandhi and Malik Arjun Kharge just briefed the media.
08:20I want to immediately cut across to my colleague Rahul Gautam,
08:23who is joining us live with the latest.
08:25Rahul, that was the delegation of MPs who had gone to meet the president,
08:32speaking with the press, where Rahul Gandhi has now gone ahead once again,
08:37named Prime Minister, Home Minister and the Chief Election Commissioner in his memorandum,
08:43which he has submitted now to the president of the country.
08:47What is the plan of action of the opposition and the India Alliance members now?
08:57Well, you know, Rahul Gandhi, while speaking with media Preeti,
09:01in fact, described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an architect of vote showries,
09:07adding that Home Minister Amisha and CEC Gyanesh Kumar are only implementing it.
09:12So, in a way, you know, Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders as well,
09:17people who spoke with media, they have gone hammer and tong on incumbent CEC and the ruling dispension,
09:25putting in clear words that we have apprised the president of India
09:29about the alleged vote story that is happening, how democracy is being subverted by election commission.
09:35In fact, Rahul Gandhi said that I was really surprised and stunned
09:38the way, you know, President Raupadi Murmu, in fact, took the argument,
09:43you know, very patiently, that were presented before her by the opposition leaders.
09:49And in fact, in a way, you know, she didn't deny that vote showries happening in the country.
09:54I must also tell our viewers that on Monday, all the India block parties are going to approach the Supreme
10:00Court.
10:01of India on the same matter, the same memorandum which has already been signed by opposition MPs,
10:30which has been submitted to the president of India that actually list the alleged wrongdoings of CEC, Gyanesh Kumar.
10:36You know, is it going to be submitted before the Supreme Court?
10:41See, it seems that, Preeti, now the fight is being fought at multiple levels.
10:46We have seen something happening inside the parliament that impeachment motion is pending.
10:50Rahul, I need to move on, but I'm going to ask you one quick question
10:53because there is not just one pronged attack now asking for the chief election commissioner's resignation.
10:59Of course, the India Alliance has taken a step further.
11:02Tomorrow is the big CJP protest already.
11:05The national capital has been fortified.
11:07What is the India Alliance think of that protest?
11:11Are they supporting that protest?
11:13What is the thought?
11:18Well, at this point of time, we can say that at least the Congress party is not going to support
11:24the CJP protest as it happened previously.
11:28Well, Rahul Gandhi is not in the national capital.
11:30He will be in Chennai.
11:31So, after a brief gap, on 12th, expect all the India Bloc leaders again on the streets.
11:37You'll be seeing again some detentions happening.
11:40You know, a tussle, a scuffle happening between educating opposition workers and Delhi police as we have seen earlier also.
11:47So, the game is to keep the momentum going and that's why they are opening new fronts with each passing
11:53day.
11:54And the moment, you're right.
11:57And the fronts have been opened on multiple dimensions.
12:00It's not just the United Alliance of the opposition, the India Alliance, that is demanding the resignation of the CEC.
12:09There is another front which is open and that front is the Kokoro Janta Party,
12:13who has now threatened a Jantar Mantar 2.0 tomorrow, asking for the CEC, Gyanesh Kumar, to step down.
