07:46Oh, Liger and Chono, that's a volatile mix on the mics.
07:52A particularly explosive Jushin Thunder Liger YouTube video, if you subscribe to him.
08:01Chizuno, the referee for this championship contest,
08:05they battled, of course, at the beginning of the recently completed Best of Super Junior Tournament,
08:10with Hiromu getting the victory over Ishimori.
08:13But it was Ishimori defeating Hiromu to take the junior heavyweight title away from Hiromu Takahashi
08:21on August the 29th at Jingu Stadium.
08:24So the bell sounds and we are underway.
08:27That match in Jingu Stadium, it was all about Hiromu Takahashi coming into it with a damaged shoulder.
08:33Here he comes into this match with a damaged hand.
08:36If you've got any kind of weakness, Taiji Ishimori will exploit it.
08:40And I think that puts the measures heavily in the champion's corner.
08:45And Rocky, the submission prowess of Ishimori is, I mean, he's next level.
08:51Submission prowess, you talk about speed, you talk about, you know, athleticism.
09:00But you've got to give the power edge to Hiromu.
09:07Already looking for a fast start, Hiromu out to the floor.
09:13Back in, misdirection, swing and a miss, waist lock, standing switch, standing switch, all around, uh-oh.
09:22Very wisely, switching to that arm and hand.
09:28Looking to spring to the outside, Ishimori.
09:31Uh-oh.
09:36Oh, what a thrust kick.
09:37Not wasting any time.
09:42Here we go, looking sunset pop, sunset pop.
09:46Oh, what a counter.
09:49Oh, no, pop up a perfect bob and stand.
09:53Ah!
09:55Fuck!
09:56Ah!
09:58Ah!
10:00Ah!
10:01Ah!
10:03And Hiromu's just getting warmed up.
10:07Yeah, certainly the pace from the bell was not built for guys that are looking to go time here.
10:14It's one fall, 60 minutes.
10:17But just like that, Ishimori completely stopped.
10:21You've got to love the urgency, though, that these guys are feeling.
10:25Wow.
10:26Oh!
10:29They're not going to wear each other down.
10:32What?
10:33Oh!
10:34Where is it going?
10:35This is like, well, it's appropriate.
10:37Chono's at ringside.
10:38This is like Muzo and Chono in 93.
10:42That long, long run down the aisleway.
10:51My God!
10:58Oh, wait a minute, wait a minute.
10:59Ishimori's on his feet.
11:01Ishimori!
11:01Oh!
11:04Oh!
11:08Well, we didn't get a great view of that.
11:10Yeah, I think Hiromu was going for that drop kick.
11:14And Ishimori sidestepped him and dropped him with a side suplex.
11:18Let's take a look.
11:20You're exactly right.
11:22Oh, great call, Rock.
11:24Oh!
11:26Hard to tell, you folks viewing our world, but Ishimori basically was in the dark.
11:33And Hiromu, those spotlights drained on him.
11:36He couldn't see that Ishimori was on his feet.
11:38He was running blind as fast as he could.
11:41And Ishimori made a peg.
11:42That's a good call, Kevin, because the lighting in the dome, it's such a big room.
11:47And guys with the...
11:48Whoa!
11:49Ishimori out to the floor.
11:50Huge dive.
11:51And while Hiromu was off his feet, Ishimori was thinking on them and took off the corner pad.
11:59Ah, yes.
12:05So Hiromu Takahashi made to pay for his hyper-aggressiveness.
12:12Their matchup in the Best of Super Junior 25 final in 2018 was one of the best matches of the
12:20year.
12:23nearly 35 minutes, with Ishimori getting victory.
12:30And the exposed corner.
12:34Man, it was a long summer for Hiromu in the exposed steal.
12:40His battle with evil, time and time again, got run into the exposed corner, and you get the feeling that
12:47Bullet Club is all drawing from each other, and what they have done, what has collectively worked.
12:53Yes, no, no.
12:55Oh, wait a minute now.
12:57Shoulder first.
12:59Oh, wait a minute now.
13:01Shoulder first.
13:02Ah!
13:03Ah!
13:04You remember how Taiji Ishimori won his first IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship as well, in this building,
13:10against Kashiro in near record time, working over that shoulder.

25:26All that frustration for Ishimori being let loose
25:31Of all those semi-main events
25:33During Best of the Super Juniors as a champion
25:41But again the shoulder
25:43Ishimori not forgetting it
25:45And the exposed steel
25:47And all the way through to the ring post
26:00Watch this
26:05Nasty shoulder breaker
26:07With the left arm hammerlock
26:17Man
26:27Chris we know what's coming up
26:29He's going to think of Mystica
26:30The Mystica into the yes lock or the bone lock
26:35Ishimori gets it
26:37He's got it
26:38Steps over
26:40Yes lock
26:41Let's give up
26:56Let's give up
26:59And pull him away from the rope
27:05Face lock applied
27:08Great positioning
27:10Sitting on the shoulder
27:13Applying pressure as he pulls the head and neck up
27:19And let's not forget about Hiromu's neck
27:22Yes that is always in the front of our minds
27:28The satisfaction that Ishimori would get from submitting Hiromu Takahashi here
27:38And the hand is holding the hand as well
27:41Give up
27:43Wow
27:50The time bomb is still ticking
27:54Hiromu Takahashi's spirit won't die
27:57He might have given up in Chingu stadium but in this place, in this spot, in this Tokyo Dome, in
28:02this semi-main event, Hiromu Takahashi will not say die
28:07Kevin, you talked about the submission prowess of Taiji Ishimori, I feel like it's almost underrated in the fact of
28:13like, look how wisely and smoothly he was able to transition when Hiromu went to reach out for the rope
28:20to attack that hand, put on that double arm lock
28:24I mean, smooth as silk
28:30Hiromu over the back
28:33Ishimori again with the strike
28:34Oh, perfect
28:35Look at this
28:36What a setup
28:38Oh
28:39Sidebar attacking
28:41Oh, you okay
28:43Hiromu might be done to the cover too
28:46And a kick out
28:48Ah
28:53Two goals, two goals, two
28:58How many nights during the Best of Super Junior Tournament was Ishimori packing up his gear, shower, and he's going
29:04to be the best of Super Junior Tournament
29:04After another victory, and yet hearing Hiromu Takahashi's music for the main event playing, thinking to himself, I'm the champion,
29:12I should be in this spot, but the biggest star of the division, Hiromu Takahashi is on the doorstep of
29:20being defeated by the champion here at Wrestle Kingdom
29:28What he caught
29:29Wait a minute, a counter from Hiromu
29:35Got him in the face and shoulder
29:41No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
29:50no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

32:31Oh my God!
32:32Le bon gott.
32:36Come on, come on!
32:39Really applying the pressure on that fat shoulder.
32:45The angle, but he's got that armpit.
32:52Nobody has escaped the next hold.
32:55The challenger included.
33:00And now repositioning.
33:04Seatbelt right over.
33:05Hold on, buddy, cross!
33:08Hiromu carried all the way over.
33:11Yeah!
33:13Oh!
33:2025!
33:21I can't believe this match has gone 25 minutes
33:25with the pace that they set.
33:33The will, the desire,
33:36the burning passion to be at the top of the game.
33:44Oh!
33:46Five, five, two!
33:48Go!
33:49Go!
33:58His now new high-up GP Junior heavyweight class champion, Hiromu Tagahashi.
34:10And it's sort of like losing control right now.
34:13Yeah!
34:14Ah!
34:18So make it two Wrestle Kingdoms in a row for Hiromu Takahashi to win and win the Junior Heavyweight title.
34:30And Rocky, we might need time to reflect on it.
34:36But a more challenging back-to-back for a Junior Heavyweight wrestler.
34:42Back-to-back nights.
34:44Hiromu has beaten the Super J-Cup winner and the defending IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
34:52I mean, that puts him at an undisputed position as the top Junior Heavyweight, not only in the division, but
35:01in the world.
35:08Chris, there may have been an asterisk by Hiromu's Best of Super Junior Tournament win
35:13because athletes like El Fantasma were not a part of the field.
35:19But that's why he put himself in this situation, Kevin.
35:22That's why he wanted to face this in the J-Cup winner so that there was no doubt.
35:27And then he went on and just defeated a hell of a champion.
35:34Well, you got that right.
35:37Ishimori being helped away.
35:40And he's trying to look.
35:42Out of camera view, Ishimori wants to see Hiromu be given his title belt.
35:49He couldn't help but look.
35:54When you talk about iconic Junior Heavyweight wrestlers that reached another level, Chris.
36:02The original Tiger Mask.
36:05Ishimori's Thunder Liger.
36:07And in my opinion, one that can be just as bright.
36:11That man right there.
36:14That's the Super Junior winner.
36:17And your new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Hiromu Takahashi.
36:21He may already be.
36:23As a man that's done everything he said he wanted to do.
36:28To be a Junior Heavyweight Champion, challenging the Heavyweight Champion.
36:32To be the Junior Heavyweight Champion in the main event of Primetime Broadcast Television.
36:39He's done that.
36:40To be the Junior Heavyweight Champion in the semi-main event on the grandest stage of them all.
36:45He's done that.
36:46There's only one step further than second from the top.
36:50And believe you me, I think Hiromu Takahashi is stunning for that very top spot next.
36:59And the words from the new champion.
37:02That is Junior Heavyweight Wrestling in NJPW.
37:10And former champions also include some of those who elevated to the Heavyweight Division.
37:17But Hiromu will be firmly rooted in this Junior Division.
37:22And perhaps that only challenge left for him is to take it one more match.
37:28But it is the biggest leap of all.
37:32To go from semi-final to the main event of Tokyo Dome.
37:37It kind of changes the whole perspective, right?
37:40I mean, this company's been around since 1972.
37:43And the Heavyweight have always dominated over the Junior Heavyweights when it comes to positioning in the cards.
37:50Even when Tiger Mask, even when Tiger Mask, was the biggest, brightest star comparably to Antonio Inoki.
37:59I don't think Hiromu's gonna be happy with just the main event spot.
38:02But I think he wants to take that title in that Junior position and smash through everybody's preconceived notions of
38:10what that is.
38:10That's what he just did. He just echoed our very state sentiment.
38:16Hiromu Takahashi has promised all the people here in this building that next, the main event in the Tokyo Dome.
38:25That is true.morning.
38:30Thank you.
38:31Thank you.
