00:03and inside the locker room everyone trying to lock in get mentally ready for another hard-fought
00:10nba battle welcome to 2k sports everyone we have some exciting nba action coming up i'm brian
00:17anderson joining me tonight will be stan van gundy and clark kello along with ali la force
00:22checking in with us from the sidelines and a chance to see the latest edition of the power
00:27rankings always fun to see where everyone in the league stands you take a look at the nets they're
00:32a rising team climbing to fifth on the board you know right now for the visiting team they're staying
00:38foot in the middle of the road not rural feeders not cellar dwellers i don't know what else to tell
00:45you they've been mediocre now the starting group for the visitors we've got bailey paul reed is out
00:51there with miller then there's kevin porter and it's smart in at the three spot and for the timberwolves
00:56talented duo of lamello and amp are the backcourt jonathan cominga is out there with rudy gobert
01:02and it's mcdaniels in at the three slot so the timberwolves will get the first possession and for
01:08a team's confidence how important are those early wins clark yeah you know for the young up-and-comers
01:13it means a ton i mean your belief in the team concept that gets validated when you win early
01:18your belief in each other gets affirmed when you win early i think it gives you a foundation to build
01:24on so you can handle adversity better when it comes now here's ball from deep sinks it from
01:31distance ball is a volume three-point shooter his confidence pulling the trigger is a big part of
01:38his weaponry and he isn't afraid to let it fly that's for sure miller with it he's watched by kuminga
01:44here's porter oh excellent d there from ball and so it's ball with it he brings it up for the
01:52timberwolves
01:52they're coming off that loss against portland one of the things you absolutely have to do on the road
01:58is hit your free throws and they just couldn't and when you miss foul shots it kind of keeps the
02:04crowd
02:04in it well you need good positioning and a quick reaction to pull off a tip in like that definitely
02:11you're not gonna make plays like that unless you expend the energy porter gets the bucket reporter
02:17jr i think it's about shot selection taking smart shots including when he's in close
02:25here's ball ball with another miss
02:32gone two of three from the floor
02:37porter looks it over and that one comes up a bit short here's minnesota
02:42they didn't have any trouble with this team's season job two games sweet they may have wished for
02:49more games against them definite disparity in talent we'll see if they take advantage again
02:54tonight standing at six four 225 anthony edwards is a big physical guard clark yeah he's every bit
03:00of that i actually saw him in college up close and personal i was amazed at his build like a
03:05linebacker
03:06so explosive you throw in the skill set now you're talking an all nba player
03:12gone three of five here in the opening quarter
03:18reed with it releases they get it back smart off target at the rim just over two and a half
03:25minutes
03:25played here in the first edwards with it parted down by bailey counted edwards just doesn't allow
03:31defenders to bottle him up great focus and persistence
03:37pass to miller back to porter
03:41and here's reed outside for porter
03:45shoots over ball porter gets the bucket porter's got his third bucket of the night
03:50overall this quarter he's getting good luck and he's taking advantage
03:57ball passes to edwards it's over bailey off the left rim and out
04:01i wouldn't count on him missing the mid-range shot again that's a good look for him
04:06pass to reed here's bailey guarded by edwards and bailey gets it to go
04:11that's how they use a size mismatch in tight take it to the rack
04:19and here's edwards outside and again it's minnesota with a three
04:23a legitimate threat from outside the arc got a chase and off the line
04:27smart passes to porter
04:32smart against mcdaniel's and it's smart missing minnesota leading by four
04:40now here's edwards out to kaminga beyond the arc
04:45here's gobert
04:46they have a number of cracks at it just came away empty-handed
04:49they've gotten 50 of their shots to ball so far
04:53they're five of ten outside for porter over edwards
04:59porter shot is off
05:00thin margin of error right there
05:03you have to work for a better shot
05:05kept alive by minnesota
05:07past the gobert
05:09from down in the low post it goes
05:11this is gobert's comfort zone using his size to capitalize down there
05:17shooting 45 percent from the field in this first
05:20now reed
05:23and he lays it up and in
05:29minnesota's gone two for four from range to start things off
05:32edwards for three
05:34again the miss by edwards
05:35well his shot selection's been poor
05:38if i were coaching this team
05:40he'd be sitting next to me
05:43outside bailey
05:46miller with it
05:47he's picked up by edwards
05:49shot clock at six
05:51connects on the 17-footer
05:56minnesota in the lead
06:01oh sweet move
06:03all right guys we're lucky to have chomps
06:05charania joining us now
06:06our 2k insider calling in with a story
06:09what do you got chomps
06:10well guys for all of their success in the west
06:12my understanding is the timberwolves have been searching for a true point guard for years
06:17this summer a blockbuster trade for lamello ball who has explicitly taken two picks behind anthony edwards in that 2020
06:24draft
06:25together lamello and ant have a chance to be the most dynamic backcourt in the league
06:30a dangerous duo
06:31chomps thank you
06:32here's what minnesota's going with right now
06:34lyles he's checked in for gobert
06:36shannon comes in for kaminga
06:38nesumu
06:39he's checked in for mcdaniels
06:41and it's dante di vincenzo in for lamello ball
06:44and their passing is what stands out right now
06:47five straight baskets resulting from assists
06:50they're playing as one unit out there
06:52they've been attacking the glass
06:54and it's serving them well so far
06:56and the trend they'd love to continue right through the next three quarters as well
07:05well the timberwolves shooting only 39% in the early going
07:11nesumu outside there's the three nice start for him
07:15making his first shot
07:19the visitors with the ball
07:20it's a three point game
07:24jerome passes to bailey
07:25out to the wing
07:26here's riley
07:29takes it inside
07:32can't hit from in close
07:36even chinzo driving
07:37and re pulls it down
07:39shooting an excellent 56% in this quarter
07:42and that would have stopped right through
07:45well porter has tremendous talent and is very creative
07:49he's good at getting his guys the ball when they're ready to score
07:52a good passer because he's got good vision
07:54well you know this is what you like about him as a facilitator
07:58he hits his man where he can do something with the rock
08:01here's jerome following the score by minnesota
08:05all right let's look back on last season for a moment
08:08here were your scoring leaders
08:09in the third spot anthony edwards
08:12well this is a guy who never took a night off
08:14you look at his numbers
08:16and you know that he put in a tremendous effort
08:19every single game
08:21barrage he's checked in for the timberwolves
08:24lamello ball comes in for divincenzo
08:32that one falls so he hits both of them
08:34we expect nothing less
08:36he's generally been very good at the line
08:42ball outside
08:44the three ball
08:45and another three for minnesota
08:47well you gotta love how quick ball shot is
08:50doesn't take a lot of time to get himself squared up
08:52here's melton
08:54buries it down low
08:55well that's easy pickings for him
08:57unless the defense is all over him
09:00he'll take that all day long
09:03and ball
09:04throws it down
09:06well what can you say
09:07yeah god i love this guy's athleticism
09:10that was vicious
09:12i think the rim is still shaking
09:14here's bonum
09:17pass to marshall
09:20here's jerome
09:21and the layup is good
09:22off the glass
09:2515 seconds left in the first quarter
09:30there's ball with a three
09:32he can't get that one to fall
09:37here's borna
09:39oh no good on the last second attempt there
09:42lamello ball getting it done for the timberwolves
09:45he put together 10 points in the quarter
09:47back to the game
09:49after this break
10:00you
10:23and if you're just joining us it's been a pretty even game through the first quarter
10:27all right guys let's get your take on the scoring breakdown for the timberwolves
10:31you know right from the start of seeing they got hot from three-point range pulling apart
10:35the defense and racking up the points too i also like how aggressive they were down in the paint
10:41taking no mercy
10:48shooting the ball at 60 percent an excellent average d'anthony melton out there with ty jerome
10:54then there's naji marshall then there's the dim bona and it's riley in at the four spots
11:00jerome no good i thought he had that one i think he did too beyond his skill the mellow ball
11:07brings
11:07a certain player and entertainment value boy you got that right b i mean he's got a little bit of
11:12the streetball style to his game and basketball has always had players that embrace that and bring
11:18that style he's a flashy passer and he'll take some crazy shots but he's effective too which
11:25makes him very entertaining and productive now here's the sumu trying to make up for his poor
11:31performance in that loss to portland the three divincenzo yes sir and it's paul with the assist
11:36that time paul's got his third assist of the night
11:44just over a minute has passed here in the second quarter marshall passes to jerome
11:49here's boner puts it up from 12 and he nails the jumper well quite simply they can't stop
11:57anything inside yeah and that's four straight field goals now they've allowed from point blank
12:03ring can't happen
12:08to the left side wing that's to riley now marshall
12:16jerome outside it's not going to go for him well he was able to pressure the shooter and disrupt
12:22these rhythm effort on the defensive end paying dividend
12:28now here's melton
12:32here's marshall
12:33hauled in by divincenzo
12:37to the middle here's lyles
12:39the rebound by riley
12:42he's gotten two of five shots to fall this second quarter
12:47melton passes to jerome
12:49here's riley
12:52and he makes it on the layup
12:59and a little under two and a half minutes gone by here in the second quarter
13:02and let's send it over to ali la force
13:04well the timber wolves are growing through it first
13:08rudy gobert said i think going through storms being able to keep our composure and staying
13:12together is really important
13:14dante di vincenzo said it doesn't matter who we have on the floor
13:17we're a unit and work together
13:19we're darn good
13:21leveraging that tall timber
13:23ali we appreciate the report
13:24and minnesota with some changes
13:26williams comes in for lyles
13:28and it's anthony edwards in for divincenzo
13:43ball outside
13:45good ball movement here by minnesota
13:50edwards against
13:51i can't believe he just did that
13:55way up top
13:58oh doctor
13:59oh my goodness
14:00anthony edwards
14:01throwing it down with force
14:04get this guy in the dunk contest
14:06now here's jerome
14:08he had nine points in his last time out
14:10a chilly quarter for him offensively
14:13trying to get warmed up
14:14here's williams
14:17another shot
14:20miller pulls it in
14:23gone three for seven here in the second quarter
14:27here's smart
14:28to roll outside
14:29over ball
14:31and misses it off the right side of the rim
14:33he can't get anything to fall
14:36at least not this quarter
14:37the kick out to edwards
14:39the three
14:41can't get that one to go
14:42and now just three of ten shooting
14:44yeah he hasn't had the best night from the field
14:47but his teammates have had his back
14:49and we may have an injury here
14:51that does not look good
14:52that didn't look great
14:55hopefully he's okay
14:56you know as a player you just hate to see that happen to one of the guys that you're depending
15:01on
15:03reads check in for jerome
15:04you always hear about buying in from a player and a team perspective
15:08stan what does that mean to you
15:10well to me b.a. it's a few things
15:12first everyone accepting what their role is on the team and not everybody gets the role they want but everybody
15:20needs to perform well in the role they're given and then when the whole roster knows and believes in the
15:28system on both sides of the ball plays their role and trust each other some special things can happen
15:34miller two shots two bakes off to a good start
15:38i mean defensively they're getting bullied inside
15:42yeah i think they've got to ramp up the aggressiveness
15:44if they don't things are just going to get worse
15:47oh and gobert powers it home
15:50stay clear of gobert on the dunk now
15:53the force he goes to the rim with
15:55is mighty
15:57and then quarter with the dunk
15:59well when you're going up against link
16:02you have to go up strong
16:04boy that's a tough play
16:05i mean taking on somebody you're giving up that much size to
16:09not for the faint of heart
16:10now here's ball
16:12in his last alley with 12 points
16:14parries it from three
16:15that's his third triple of the game
16:18it's the first one in the second quarter
16:20gone five of ten in the second quarter
16:23pass to riley
16:24back to porter
16:28and a foul called on the way up
16:30so he'll take two from the free throw line
16:33that went on ball
16:35playing ferocious inside
16:37porter jr went right after the big dogs
16:39it's his first trip to the line
16:44and he knocks down the first one
16:46and minnesota making a change here
16:48kuminga's checked in
16:59no good on the second free throw
17:01you know we've seen kevin porter jr
17:03play the one two and the three
17:05and no matter where he plays
17:07kpj is a bucket get
17:09well he can beat you in a lot of ways
17:12very challenging to defend
17:15now here's smart
17:16in his last outing ten points for him
17:18and haley gets it to go
17:20that's a fantastic feed right there
17:23kicking it out for the good look
17:25plays like this really help team
17:28such a wide open look
17:31edwards has got 14 points
17:33well i know they don't want to over
17:34extend
17:35but they have to close out harder
17:37on these three
17:38you know the only way that's going to
17:40turn around defensively is by
17:41stopping the outside shot
17:42not getting into a shootout
17:44they're not going to out shoot out
17:46this team
17:46well he got hot in their last game
17:49and it's carried over
17:50oozing confidence
17:52in the zone right now
17:53looking to score almost every chance
17:55to get
17:55and the timberwolves
17:57hit again from deep
17:58boy they need to ride him
17:59as far as he can take them
18:01because he is
18:01pedal to the metal right now
18:03well i love the energy
18:05and the level of physicality
18:06they've played with tonight
18:08they've showed that they're not
18:09afraid of throwing their weight around
18:11well they're working the glass
18:13really badly
18:14in that area of the game
18:15and that's helped them
18:17stake this lead
18:18i know you agree
18:19that every nba locker room
18:21needs a blue guy
18:22like marcus slark
18:23yeah those kind of guys
18:24va is just
18:25extremely valuable
18:26he's a vocal leader
18:27he brings toughness
18:28and grit
18:29and know-how
18:30and experience
18:31doesn't back away
18:32from the dirty work
18:33actually relishes it
18:34he's an absolute
18:35menace defensively
18:36and the visitors
18:37call time here
18:47assuming he's checked in
18:49for minnesota
18:50all right now
18:51let's have a look at
18:52who was really
18:52dominating the boards
18:54last season
18:54number five
18:56rudy gobert
18:57well simply put
18:58he was a monster
19:00down low last year
19:01owning the glass
19:07gotten seven shots
19:09out of 14 attempts
19:10in the second quarter
19:11let's go to the sideline
19:12we've got something
19:13on ty jerome
19:14alley how is he
19:15as of right now
19:16he's calling it
19:17a severely sprained ankle
19:18which i'm sure
19:19isn't what coach
19:20wanted to hear
19:20so with all this
19:22happening right now
19:22at the start of the season
19:23guys it'll be interesting
19:25to see what changes
19:25they make to the lineups
19:27all right alley
19:27thank you
19:28good to hear
19:29how he's progressing
19:30yeah
19:30he puts so much effort
19:32into injury prevention
19:34in the nba
19:35but injuries are still
19:37going to happen
19:37that's just the
19:39unfortunate part
19:40of the game
19:40here's smart
19:41following the score
19:42by minnesota
19:43bailey the pass
19:44to porter
19:46that one's good
19:47seven for ten now
19:49clearly porter jr
19:50is fired up
19:51right now
19:52he's not holding
19:53anything back
19:53on the offensive
19:54being let it at all
19:55hang out
19:56now here's edwards
19:58he's got 20
19:59basket counts
20:00well nice turnaround
20:02for him here
20:03in the second quarter
20:04he had a cold start
20:05but never lost
20:07his contact
20:09miller
20:09pass to bailey
20:12kicks it out to miller
20:13shoots over kaminga
20:15miller can't get it to go
20:16well they're up eight
20:17in the rebounding battle
20:19of course
20:20that's led
20:20to more than eight
20:21on the scoreboard
20:22yeah double digit advantage
20:24on the scoreboard
20:26they've taken the initiative
20:27they've played
20:28I think
20:29with more purpose
20:30so far
20:31and the bucket counts
20:32and he is on his way
20:34to the line
20:34he'll try to make it
20:35a three point play
20:37and that sends
20:38rudy gobert
20:39to the free throw line
20:40it's on kevin porter
20:50and that one falls
20:51for gobert
20:52known as the
20:53stifle tower
20:54gobert's defense
20:55and rebounding
20:56are valuable
20:57to this team
20:59oh nice
21:00shot by miller
21:01miller's gotten
21:03four this quarter
21:03and so it's edwards
21:05who brings up the ball
21:06for minnesota
21:07they'll face the jazz
21:08after this game
21:09that'll be at home
21:10that'll be the second
21:11and last game
21:12of a quick homestead
21:13well he's piling it on here
21:16in the face of
21:17little resistance
21:18he takes advantage
21:19here's border
21:21got it
21:22just in time
21:23without a moment
21:25to spare
21:27incredible
21:27and so it's minnesota
21:29they lead by 11
21:31as the quarter
21:31comes to a close
21:32and they push the tempo
21:34in this one
21:35getting out in transition
21:36and making the defense
21:38pay
21:38back after this
21:51kia presents
21:52the 2k sports
21:53halftime report
21:58hello and welcome
21:59before we take a look
22:01at the action
22:01from the first half
22:02a brief overview
22:04of some upcoming games
22:08you look at the timberwolves
22:09you can already see
22:11they have the makings
22:12of a good team
22:13but they also have
22:14things to iron out
22:15splitting the first two games
22:17this next one could indicate
22:19which direction
22:20they're headed
22:23and looking now
22:24at that first half
22:25anything that could
22:27have gone wrong
22:27did go wrong
22:29for the visiting team
22:32when you have
22:32fewer possessions
22:33than your opponent
22:34your chances decrease
22:35they have to find
22:37a way to rebound
22:38in the second half
22:39SOF
22:40campo
22:40soft
22:42I get mad
22:43watching them play
22:51and that'll do it for us
22:52thanks for stopping by
22:53we'll head back down
22:55to Brian Anderson
22:56and crew
22:56for the start
22:57of the third quarter
23:10and with a big gap
23:11on the scoreboard
23:12the second half
23:13begins with very different
23:14goals for these teams
23:15one side trying to mount
23:17a comeback
23:17one side trying to
23:18protect their lead
23:19and you know
23:20Anthony Edwards
23:21has been really
23:22making it happen guys
23:23he's been running
23:24rough shots
23:25just taking over
23:27all this
23:27tell you what
23:29when you've got it
23:29going like this
23:30you might as well
23:31become gluttonous
23:32go for more
23:33force the defense
23:34to figure something out
23:35until then
23:35keep rubbing
23:42and with the second
23:44half upon us
23:45we'll find out
23:45if this game
23:46becomes the route
23:47that it's threatening
23:48to be
23:48Paul and Edwards
23:49are in the backcourt
23:51McDaniels out there
23:52with Kaminga
23:52and it's Gobert
23:53in at the pivot spot
23:55manning the middle
23:55so that's the lineup
23:57for Minnesota
24:01and it's Miller missing
24:02Minnesota leading by 11
24:05past to Gobert
24:10it's McDaniels on the wing
24:12got a hand on it
24:18with a nine footer
24:20oh the nice bucket
24:21inside from Porter
24:23Porter's got 19 points
24:24man that was impressive
24:26Kevin Porter Jr.
24:28the concentration
24:29needed to score
24:30that one
24:31very impressive
24:32two emphatic points
24:34extending the lead
24:35yeah he got way up
24:37to that
24:37with an aggressive move
24:38by their floor general
24:39there
24:39here's Reed
24:41and it's Gobert
24:42with a rebound
24:44Gobert's got his
24:45eighth rebound
24:45here tonight
24:49all in the paint
24:57gone just one of three
24:58in the second half
24:59pass to Porter
25:02now Smart
25:03there's the triple
25:04that one drops
25:06and it comes off
25:07an assist from Porter
25:09Porter's got three assists
25:10now in this one
25:11well Smart can be streaky
25:12on his threes
25:13but he's much more
25:15consistent when he lets it go
25:16from the corner
25:17nice shot by Kamingo
25:19they've come out hot this second half
25:21hitting three of their first four shots
25:24Smart passes to Bailey
25:27lets it fly
25:29that doesn't go either
25:31for Smart
25:31well look
25:32a major reason
25:33they are up
25:34the big advantage
25:36they have on the glass
25:37yeah
25:38rebounding has been
25:39a big key
25:39in this
25:40they've asserted
25:41their will
25:41of taking control
25:43on the glass
25:43going strong
25:45to the offensive glass
25:47that's energy
25:48and depth
25:49right at the rack
25:50he is a low
25:51tough assignment
25:53and they get it back
25:55here's Reed
25:55no good
25:57on the shot
25:57ooh
25:58great D
25:58that time
25:59from Gobert
26:01Edwards
26:02a pass to Ball
26:03back to Edwards
26:06and here's McDaniels
26:09no good
26:09with the triple
26:10playing with some
26:11urgency now
26:12yeah
26:12can't fall
26:13too far behind
26:14otherwise
26:15it becomes
26:16a tall mountain
26:17to climb
26:17his lack of offense
26:19is certainly not helping
26:20tough to overcome that
26:23Kamingo
26:23finds Edwards
26:24and he lobs it up
26:25to the rim
26:29smart against Edwards
26:31smart passes
26:32to Miller
26:32and yep
26:34it's good
26:35Miller's got
26:36eight points
26:36I mean he's doing
26:37all he can
26:38he needs help
26:40out there
26:4314 feet away
26:45nice jump shot
26:46and the Timberwolves
26:48lead by 14
26:50third quarter
26:51of basketball here
26:52a little under
26:53three and a half
26:53minutes gone by
26:55Miller
26:55the pass to Reed
26:58now smart
27:00over McDaniels
27:02smart converting
27:03a tough one
27:04right there
27:05yeah some
27:06offensive
27:06diversification
27:08for smart
27:09there
27:09not his usual
27:11kind of shot
27:12down low
27:15here's Kamingo
27:16Henry
27:17pulls it down
27:18Reed's got his
27:20fifth rebound
27:28he may not be
27:30the biggest center
27:31in the league
27:31but he sure
27:32can jump
27:33a moment to hear
27:34from Allie LaForce
27:35thanks Brian
27:36Anthony Edwards
27:37has shown
27:37tremendous growth
27:38as a long distance
27:39shooter
27:40he said quote
27:41anytime the ball
27:41leaves my hand
27:42if I can see the rim
27:43I think it's going in
27:45I've just got so much
27:46faith in it
27:46that's how I feel
27:47about my tray ball
27:48and really
27:49anytime I shoot
27:50the ball
27:50back to you
27:51he can knock him down
27:53Allie thanks very much
27:54for the report
27:55now 34 years of age
27:56how many more seasons
27:58does Rudy Gobert
27:59have at an elite level
28:00point
28:01you know B.A.
28:02that's an interesting
28:02question
28:03I think size
28:03tends to age better
28:05in most situations
28:06I would think
28:07a couple
28:08seasons
28:09go 2-3
28:10at a pretty high level
28:11and then as he gets
28:12closer to that 40
28:1337-38
28:15maybe he's got
28:16his size
28:16in his minutes
28:17a little bit
28:18both in games
28:19and in practice
28:20here's ball
28:21he's got 19
28:24and Chris Finch
28:25wants a timeout
28:26he's going to gather
28:27the troops
28:28and talk it over
28:28which team
28:29stand out to you
28:30when it comes to
28:31player development
28:31player
28:32well it's hard
28:32not to highlight
28:33the Spurs and Thunder
28:34although there are
28:35a number of teams
28:36across the league
28:37that have done a great
28:37job in this space
28:38but those two teams
28:40kind of stand out
28:41in part because
28:42they've had
28:42similar leadership
28:44and continuous
28:46leadership
28:47in the front office
28:49and on the coaching
28:50staff
28:50so that's part of it
28:52historically the Heat
28:53and Celtics
28:53have always managed
28:55to turn late round
28:56picks into solid
28:57rotation players too
28:58so I would think
28:59those four teams
29:00you'd be hard pressed
29:01to find any other
29:02teams doing it
29:03any better than
29:04those four
29:04now here's ball
29:07pass to Edwards
29:11kicked by Gobert
29:12the kick out
29:14the ball
29:14three pointer
29:16rebounded by Bailey
29:18Bailey's got four
29:19rebounds in the game
29:20Miller right side
29:21Marshall on the wing
29:23and here's Reed
29:24defended by Gobert
29:26and out of bounds
29:27Minnesota will have it
29:29and here's a look now
29:30at who shot the ball
29:31the best during
29:32last season's campaign
29:33Rudy Gobert
29:34on top
29:35last year
29:36he let the league
29:37in field goal percentage
29:39allowing the game
29:40to come naturally
29:41and taking whatever
29:43opposing teams
29:44gave him
29:44here's what Minnesota's
29:46going with right now
29:47Lyles
29:48he's checked in
29:48for Rudy Gobert
29:49and it's Dante DiVincenzo
29:51in for LaMelo ball
29:55here's DiVincenzo
29:59and that's out of bounds
30:01last touch by DiVincenzo
30:11gone six of 13
30:12to open up this second half
30:16back to Bailey
30:17he shoots over DiVincenzo
30:19and Bailey gets it to go
30:21Bailey's got ten
30:23well I love their ball movement
30:24right now
30:25passing up good shots
30:27for great shots
30:28you know nothing makes
30:29a coach happier
30:30than selflessness
30:32on the basketball court
30:33great use of the bounce pass there
30:35you gotta love that
30:39gotten seven of 14 attempts
30:41to fall in the half
30:42Smart passes to Bailey
30:44back to Smart
30:45over Edwards
30:46and Smart with the bucket
30:48on the assist
30:49on the assist
30:49on the assist by Bailey
30:51Bailey's got five assists
30:52in the game
30:56outside Edwards
30:58no good on the triple
31:01gone 8 of 15
31:02in the third quarter
31:07Marshall outside
31:11Reed passes to Marshall
31:12drives it from the top
31:13of the key
31:14and he hits the jumper
31:15and now it's just a four point
31:17Timberwolves lead
31:18that is good offense
31:20unselfish play
31:21pass to Shannon
31:23back to Desumo
31:27touch off the glass
31:29seven points in this one
31:32there's 49 seconds left
31:34to play in the third quarter
31:35of basketball
31:36Miller on the wing
31:38Reed passes to Miller
31:40pulls up
31:41oh a little luck
31:43that time
31:43as it drops
31:50Minnesota leading by four
31:55outside
31:56DiVincenzo
31:57that's to Shannon
31:58and he floats it in
32:00for the easy two
32:01credit the sweet setup
32:03on that one
32:03well you love
32:04the unselfishness
32:05makes the next pass
32:07and enables his team
32:09to capitalize
32:09on the possession
32:10there's a four second
32:12difference from the
32:13shot clock
32:13and the game clock
32:14and it's Miller missing
32:16well in terms of effort
32:18in the rebounding
32:19department
32:19they've clearly
32:21been the better team
32:22and that's been the key
32:23to this lead
32:23I mean they've really
32:24dominated the way
32:25it's those kind of
32:27passes
32:28that bring up
32:29the entire team's
32:31confidence
32:31here's Smart
32:32oh and he hits it
32:35at the buzzer
32:36well he got that
32:37out of his hands
32:38just in time
32:40boy that's an exhilarating
32:41feeling heading back
32:42to the bench
32:43and so it's Minnesota
32:45with a six point lead
32:46at the close of the quarter
32:47and it's all due to
32:49their ability
32:49to own the paint
32:50they've been dominant
32:52down low
32:52more 2k action
32:54in just a moment
33:07and a moment now
33:08as we take a look
33:09at our State Farm
33:10assist of the game
33:11well sometimes
33:13we talk about
33:14just making
33:15the next pass
33:16but that
33:17was a work of art
33:18yeah that's
33:19orchestrating
33:20the offense
33:21and providing
33:23the entertainment
33:26well this has been
33:27a great contest
33:27so far
33:28I imagine
33:29the fourth quarter
33:29could have more
33:30action in store
33:31for us
33:31Kevin Porter
33:32is out there
33:33with the Anthony
33:34Melton
33:34then there's
33:35the Dimbona
33:35then there's
33:36Najee Marshall
33:37and it's Riley
33:38in at the power
33:38forward position
33:40the Timberwolves
33:41lead by six
33:44pass to DiVincenzo
33:46here's Lyles
33:48oh he got him
33:49with a pump fake
33:50but he couldn't
33:50finish
33:52shooting a terrific
33:5358%
33:54from the floor
33:56outside Porter
33:57shoots over ball
33:59Porter gets the
34:00bucket
34:00Porter's got
34:0121 points
34:02in the game
34:03well you have
34:04to admire
34:04the passing
34:05we're seeing here
34:06just textbook stuff
34:0810 straight points
34:09off assist
34:09that's very impressive
34:10and it also
34:11makes the game
34:12easy and fun
34:13to watch
34:13the sumo
34:15can't hit
34:16this offense
34:17has been tough
34:18to slow down
34:19well they're moving
34:20the ball well
34:21plus they have
34:22great balance
34:24now here's Porter
34:26and that one's good
34:27Porter's got
34:28four points
34:29now in the quarter
34:30well a lot of
34:31unselfish basketball
34:32going on
34:33getting the ball
34:34to the better shot
34:36you know defense
34:37has really been
34:38kept off balance
34:38because of the
34:39outstanding pass
34:40four straight field goals
34:42have been made
34:42off an assist
34:43Porter with it
34:44pounded by ball
34:45to take the lead
34:47rebounded by Lyles
34:52and here's ball
34:57the shot's good
34:58he's got 21
35:00hey ball has
35:01tremendous confidence
35:02oozing with confidence
35:04he feels like
35:04he can cross up
35:05anybody defending
35:06Melton outside
35:08back to Porter
35:13here's Bona
35:15the rebound
35:16by the Timberwolves
35:20Desumu outside
35:22driving inside
35:23I'll tell you one thing
35:24if you want a guy
35:25with some energy
35:25look no further
35:26than Ayo Desumu
35:28boy I love Desumu
35:29he is special
35:30as a young player
35:31the energy you talk
35:33about B.A.
35:34he's got a different
35:35speed than most
35:36and he can change gears
35:37when he needs to
35:38and Chris Finch
35:39calls time out here
35:40he's decided
35:41it's time to clarify
35:42the situation
35:43leaving little room
35:44for error
35:50and some changes
35:51here for the Timberwolves
35:52Williams has checked
35:53in for Lyles
35:54and it's Anthony Edwards
35:56in for DiVincenzo
35:57and from the sideline
35:59let's catch up
35:59with Allie
36:00I was able to listen
36:01in on what Chris Finch
36:02was going over
36:03with his team
36:03he said quote
36:04this one isn't over
36:05those guys will come
36:07roaring back
36:07we have to be ready
36:08if something doesn't
36:09go our way
36:10don't dwell
36:11just move on
36:12to the next play
36:12back to you
36:13okay thanks Allie

36:38Minnesota leading by six
36:40Miss Humu goes in
36:41cranked it in
36:42off the glass

36:55and he drops in
36:57the layup
36:57off the glass
36:58Porter's got
36:5925 points
37:00in the game
37:00well he's played
37:02with great focus
37:03tonight
37:03valuing each
37:05possession
37:05and getting good
37:07looks
37:07well I tell you what
37:08Cole would be a lot
37:10deeper if he wasn't
37:11being as efficient
37:12as he's been so far
37:13count it
37:14good
37:15and the Timberwolves
37:16lead by eight
37:17it's been a good night
37:18for him overall
37:19and a good night
37:20for this team
37:23gotten three of seven
37:24attempts in this fourth
37:25quarter to fall
37:25here's Marshall
37:27rebound by Shannon
37:29Shannon's got his
37:30seventh rebound of the
37:31game with that last one
37:34the three from ball
37:37Desumu outside
37:40and another shot
37:42and the layup
37:43is up and in
37:45and now it's a
37:46ten point
37:46Minnesota lead
37:48gone 0 for 2
37:49from outside
37:50here in the fourth
37:50quarter
37:52pass to Reed
37:54that one drops
37:56and it comes off
37:56an assist from Porter
37:59Porter's got
37:59four assists
38:00now tonight
38:00listen you're always
38:02happy with something
38:03close to the bucket
38:04like that
38:06the three from ball
38:08that doesn't go
38:09either for ball
38:10well three triples
38:11in the first half
38:12but he seems to have
38:14gone cold from
38:15distance since the
38:16break
38:16go go go
38:17you love the pace
38:19and you love the
38:21result
38:21giving 100%
38:23and getting all
38:24the way to the
38:24rack
38:27that works for three
38:29that one
38:30no good
38:32got five out of
