00:01Hello, join us as we go live to Rome, Italy, to the annual forum of the Food and Agriculture Organization
00:08of the United Nations.
00:10Let's listen to statements.
00:11These people have carried across generations knowledge that hold many of the answers to sustainability,
00:19yet the modern science is only now rediscovering and re-transferring.
00:26And throughout this week, the Global Youth Action Forum will remind us once again that the future is what young
00:34people are already building today
00:36and leading the game changes in the future.
00:40Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends and colleagues,
00:44I firmly believe that we cannot accelerate the process in the transformation of our agro-food systems
00:49without investing in conditions that enable innovation to take root, grow and deliver impact.
00:57Above all, we need to invest in people, human capital, especially young people and young women,
01:04because they are the future, they are the doers, they are the investors, they are the future leaders.
01:12The Youth Office of Youth and Women is working with members and partners to strengthen the youth infrastructure globally,
01:23from the Rome, to the country, to the field,
01:28which are the institutional policy, knowledge, skill, finance data, networks and opportunities that enable each generation to enter agro-food
01:38systems.
01:39Contribute to them, and progressively take on leadership.
01:45That is how we enable continuous generation renewal,
01:49and in the same way we invest in physical infrastructure,
01:53because it creates the productive asset our agro-food system needs.
01:58We must also invest in youth infrastructure.
02:03That is, infrastructure has already taken root here in Rome,
02:07and increasingly being translated into action at the country, community and regional level.
02:13Today, the World Food Forum network has expanded to more than 100 national youth chapters in 2026.
02:22We also brought the World Food Forum closer to the region,
02:25with regional platform engaging in connecting youth, science and innovation,
02:30in line with regional priorities and realities,
02:34and shaping by people who know their own agro-food system best.
02:38This is what it means to innovation today, and nourish tomorrow.
02:43Building not only the solution we need now, but also the infrastructure, the institutions, opportunities,
02:51and the generation that will carry agro-food system transformation forward.
02:56Dear friends, the skill of the challenges we face requires us to learn together,
03:02working together, and contribute together.
03:05Partnership is the key to success.
03:08We need stronger partnerships that turn the data into science, into policy, into action.
03:16Investment into prosperity, challenges into opportunity, and design into development.
03:24On Thursday, 15th October, as the International Day of Rural Women,
03:30we will celebrate every 100 women's hero from all over the world.
03:34On Friday, we will celebrate World Food Day together.
03:39Let us take a stock of just how far that action can take us.
03:44The future of agro-food system depends on the generations who will inherit them.
03:50And the future of those generations depends on what we choose to build today.
03:57Innovate today, nourish tomorrow.
04:01Call on us to commit deliverables in our best efforts.
04:07I thank you. Thank you so much.
