00:01Good afternoon, Enzo. We saw the scenes at the end at Anfield on Sunday
00:05with you and the players going over to the supporters.
00:08Obviously, you're back in front of the supporters at the Etihad tomorrow.
00:11How much are you looking forward to that?
00:13Excited. As you said, it was a nice feeling after the Liverpool game,
00:18but it's done, it's gone. Now focus on tomorrow night
00:21and hopefully, again, at the end of the game,
00:23we can have a good moment with our fans.
00:27We know Pep Guardiola is going to be in attendance tomorrow night.
00:30Will you be speaking to him?
00:33What does it mean to have him there for you and the players?
00:36I spoke with Pep after, as I said a few days ago,
00:40after the United game. I didn't speak with him after that.
00:45And in case he's coming, it's a nice feeling, especially for him,
00:48because this has been his house for ten years.
00:52It's still his house for what he has done here.
00:56So, I think it's exciting for everyone.
01:00Enzo, how much do you have to think about what you say to the players
01:03before they go on the pitch?
01:05I mean, are you the sort of manager that will have a message you want to convey to them?
01:08Clearly, you've had a huge occasion to deal with at Anfield on the weekend.
01:11This is very different in front of your own fans.
01:14The message for tomorrow night is quite easy in terms of we need the perfect game,
01:22because they are the best team in Europe in this moment.
01:26They won the last two Champions League, so that shows how good they are.
01:30So, we need the perfect game, but at the same time, doing our best,
01:34I think we can beat them and be happy at the end.
01:40Obviously, your relationship, the players' relationship,
01:43and that bond with the Manchester City fans is clearly something you're going to lean on a lot,
01:47I would imagine, over the next few weeks.
01:49What's your message to the City fans who will be travelling to the Etihad to support this one?
01:52Yeah, as I said, first of all, Anfield was unbelievable,
01:56because even if the environment was the environment that we know,
01:59but since the beginning of the game, our fans, they were there.
02:03They brought, as I said, their passion, their voice,
02:07and hopefully they can do the same tomorrow night, because we need that.
02:11And not only tomorrow night, we have also Saturday Ipswich at home,
02:15that is again Premier League, that we need to continue our path.
02:18So, yeah, excited for tomorrow night,
02:22because, again, I was here the travel season,
02:25and I know the Champions League night, they were special,
02:27and hopefully tomorrow night can be special too.
02:31Hi, Anzo.
02:33Where do you see City in terms of the favourites to win the Champions League this season?
02:38Are PSG a level above you in your mind,
02:41or do you feel that your team is right there with them?
02:44No, I think we are for sure a good team, no doubt,
02:48about that.
02:49Now, where we are in this moment compared to PSG?
02:52I don't know, I don't know, to be honest.
02:54I don't know.
02:56Again, I know how good they are,
02:58because in the last two years, they won the last two Champions League,
03:03so that shows how good they are.
03:04But at the same time, again, I don't know if we are close, far, where we are,
03:08but for sure, we are a good team.
03:12Yeah.
03:13Enzo, I'm sure you've seen quite a lot of criticism of yourself and the players after Anfield,
03:20with the sort of celebrations and things like that.
03:23How does that make you feel, reading that sort of thing?
03:27Criticised for what?
03:28People are saying that the celebrations were too wild at the end of the game.
03:33I just wondered how you sort of viewed that.
03:38We won 0-3 Anfield.
03:39What do you want us to do?
03:44And even if it was 0-1, it was exactly the same.
03:48We are here today, and the players, they are here today, to win tomorrow's game.
03:54And we work every day to win games.
03:56It's the only thing, again, that we can think, we can be focused.
04:01The rest is just things from outside that we need to deal,
04:06but we were so, so, so happy inside the pitch,
04:09and you cannot imagine inside the changing room.
04:19Hi, Enzo.
04:20Just on Pep's visit, while he's here,
04:22will you be inviting him down to training or into the dressing room?
04:26Again, I spoke with him after United Games, so I don't know his plan.
04:30I don't know if he's coming straight to the stadium,
04:33if he's coming to the training ground.
04:34I don't know, I don't have any idea.
04:36Again, it's exciting for everyone, for the fans,
04:40but I don't know Pep's plan at the moment.
04:46Hi, Enzo.
04:48Since the Community Shield, you've won every game,
04:50and there's been lots of different types of wins in there.
04:53How do you rate the start of the season?
04:56What are you seeing like you're liking from the team,
04:59and where do you feel you need to improve in these games?
05:01We need to improve many things, for sure.
05:04The way we try to attack, the way we try to defend,
05:07no doubt that we need to improve things.
05:10And then in terms of journey since we started,
05:14as you said, we won seven, eight games in a row.
05:17For me, they have been all different for different situations.
05:20For instance, the last one at Anfield has been different to the rest
05:23for all the situation that happened during the international break.
05:27Games where we were losing 0-1 Bournemouth and then we won.
05:31I mean, the Man United game with ten players,
05:34so all different games.
05:36But for sure winning games in our job is the most important thing.
05:41But for me, it's more the day-by-day,
05:43the things that I can see from the players,
05:47that I feel very, very happy.
05:50Has it been a challenge to kind of know where you need to improve
05:53because of the difference of the results and the performances?
05:58No, we use the international break to analyse all our seven games,
06:03the previous seven games.
06:04And from there, we can see things that we need absolutely to improve.
06:11But again, this is an evolution from the Liverpool game.
06:15I was not happy with the first half
06:17in the way we were playing on the ball.
06:19Off the ball, we were quite good.
06:21So every game is a way or a moment that we can learn things and improve.
06:29Hi Enzo.
06:30It's 16 consecutive seasons in the Champions League for City now,
06:34nearly all of them in the knockout stages.
06:36Can you sort of sum up the importance of the competition
06:39in relation to what the club has become?
06:41And also, you know, if everything doesn't go your way,
06:45obviously it could be the last for a while.
06:48So what would that mean as well?
06:52I'm just more focused on tomorrow.
06:57For sure, the Champions League for this organisation is so, so important.
07:01No doubt.
07:02We're going to try to improve compared to, you said, the last two, three years
07:07where the club struggled a little bit, the team struggled a little bit.
07:10So we're going to try to do our best to improve that.
07:12Again, then where we can be in March, April,
07:16or if this is the last Champions League for a while, I don't know.
07:22Paul?
07:26Hi Enzo.
07:28Fair or not, there's going to be a lot of scrutiny on your team,
07:31your players, you, probably every game.
07:33You've dealt with it really well at Anfield.
07:35You've played unbelievably well.
07:36What's your sort of main message to your players and to the club?
07:39Is it just stay calm and just focus on the football?
07:41Because, you know, you turned up at Anfield and, you know, you were very good.
07:46I said many times, I'm completely calm, relaxed.
07:53I promise you that I stress a lot about game plan
07:56and how we can train every day,
07:59but I don't stress about things that I don't control.
08:03So the message with the players will be exactly the same.
08:06As I said, we know how serious is the situation,
08:10but at the same time, it's not something that we can, you know,
08:14we can do something.
08:15Where we can do things is inside the pitch.
08:18So that's why I like to focus there.
08:21And the message for the players is exactly the same.
08:24I said after the Liverpool game that the noise around the team is a big noise,
08:29but we need to try to deal with that
08:31and try to make our noise that is to win games.
08:36Hi Enzo, we've got Ruben Diaz coming in shortly.
08:39I just wanted to ask how much he sort of stood up in the last few days as captain.
08:44How important has his role been?
08:46Yeah, no, last few days, to be honest.
08:50Since I joined the club, since the summer,
08:53I was in touch with Ruben also because he was the captain,
08:57so I needed to speak with him for different reasons.
09:00But since day one, he has been a real leader and he's doing very well in all the aspects.
09:09Enzo, you spoke a little bit ago about the atmosphere in the dressing room after the game at Anfield.
09:15Can you describe what that was like and do you get the sense that what's happened over the last few
09:20days
09:20has kind of brought that squad closer together?
09:24No, after we were very, very happy inside the pitch, sharing time with our fans,
09:33probably has been more tough for our fans than for the players or for me because, you know,
09:42it's probably more complicated because if I am, I don't know, Arsenal fan or United fan
09:49and you are City fan, I can tell you, hey, my friend, you cheat or these kind of things.
09:53So it probably has been more tough for them.
09:57But again, we were happy at the end of the game inside the changing room.
10:02We were very happy celebrating the three points because we know how difficult it is Anfield away,
10:08so that's why we were very happy.
10:11We'll take some questions from French media in the room.
10:16No French.
10:20Just wait for the microphone, please.
10:25Ryan Scherky is in the Lyon training.
10:27Maybe for him it's something special to play against Paris Saint-Germain.
10:32Do you think Ryan will be in the Premier XI tomorrow?
10:39But Ryan, he doesn't play tomorrow.
10:42He doesn't play tomorrow.
10:44No, I don't know.
10:45Ryan is a very good person.
10:50He's very important.
10:52And after he's a very good player.
11:04He's a very good player.
11:05He's very good with the ballons.
11:07We know that, but at this moment, he's very good without the ballons.
11:15He works very well, he works very well, so that is important for him and for me.
11:27So, tomorrow, is it better to use the quality of Ryan, tomorrow, against Paris Saint-Germain?
11:37I don't know. Now, I don't know. But we are very happy with him.
11:45Thank you, thank you, thank you.
