Former Atlanta Falcons Safety Justin Simmons thinks Michael Penix needs to get down more to stay healthy, but is that possible?
Transcript
00:00When he did scramble, it ended awkward.
00:04There is a play where it looks like he maybe wants to get down,
00:09but then he's like, ah, no, I'm not.
00:11He's like, I can't do that.
00:12So he's tackled, and he looks like he almost kind of lands on his knees.
00:19But what are we doing?
00:21And I appreciate his thought because he's not wrong about, hey,
00:28he means a lot to the franchise, but is he just,
00:33is he supposed to drop back, go one, two, lay down?
00:38Like, is that what we're doing?
00:39Because the shot that he took was, he was, is it avoidable?
00:47Yeah, if there's a block made, but there's two guys that didn't,
00:52weren't able to execute a block, it was a regular shot
00:57because he's just trying to push the ball down, Phil, to go win the game.
01:01What's he supposed to do?
01:02I don't think you can play quarterback position like he's talking about.
01:05Right?
01:06At least not at this point.
01:07Now, Matthew Stafford, like, bro, you got MVPs in the closet,
01:11Super Bowl trophies.
01:12Yeah, go ahead and slide, dude.
01:14And I'm not saying Michael Penix should not slide.
