00:00And Stamford Bridge welcomes them.
00:03Make no mistake, Shakhtar Donetsk should be playing this game in the country they call home.
00:08But that isn't possible and hasn't been possible for some time for reasons far beyond their control.
00:15Pedrinho returns having missed the trip to the Netherlands with injury.
00:19Mewerton preferred off the left wing.
00:20And having spoken this week about his dream as a youngster of playing for Chelsea.
00:25Razvan Marijn the goal scorer in that game.
00:28And with a goal to remember as well.
00:30And the one alteration Zinni preferred to the Hungarian Barnabas Varga up front.
00:37This is what the UEFA Champions League was essentially created for.
00:42League winners.
00:43The 2026 domestic champions of Ukraine and Greece on show tonight.
00:49From EIC Athens here.
00:52And most of them right in front of where Maia delivers this corner from.
00:56And it's off the post.
01:02Well that's not just the first big chance of the night.
01:05That is a golden opportunity.
01:10It's an enormous leap.
01:12Big night for the 23-year-old to stand up to that statement.
01:16As Alisson skips forward for Shakhtar.
01:20Pushed away by Brignoli.
01:24Watched at Ekko.
01:27And on goes Pilios.
01:29And he still carries on his move.
01:32And Maia slides it in.
01:49One of the best.
01:53Pedrinho.
01:54Shakhtar trying to fight back.
01:56Alisson.
01:57Was he taken out?
01:59Chris Kavanagh had a good look at it.
02:02He's declined to put whistle to mouth.
02:04Makoudi.
02:10It's just smart forward play Alisson.
02:12He knew that evidence.
02:13I would suggest that Chris Kavanagh might be overturning this decision shortly.
02:20Indeed he is being sent to the screen.
02:36And a chance for Rana Turan to take a breath to get a message across to his players.
02:46The chop from Alisson.
02:47I guess the only thing that Chris Kavanagh will be wondering is whether he has initiated the fall more than
02:56anything else, Alisson.
02:57Does he fall into Relvas or is he cleaned out by him?
03:11Is there enough to overturn the decision?
03:13That is what is being factored into Chris Kavanagh's mind right now.
03:20He's had a proper look at it now.
03:24And it is a penalty.
03:29He's been expressing his desire this week.
03:31The Brazilian to potentially represent Ukraine in the future.
03:35Well, here's another audition.
03:40Pedrinho scores.
04:02What an absorbing first half it has been.
04:05Stamford Bridge has been treated.
04:06That is for sure.
04:071-1.
04:08Second half brings the same levels of excitement as the first.
04:14Because I think everybody inside Stamford Bridge tonight, regardless of the colours they wear.
04:19And the only out of Pilios.
04:20Pilios onto Koita.
04:21He's continued his run as well.
04:23Pilios.
04:24And he's got it as well from Jovic.
04:26It's Pilios.
04:28Superbly stopped by Riznik.
04:32He has been an ever-present danger, though, to Shakhtar tonight, Stamford Pilios.
04:41There doesn't seem to be any limit to the battery life in the legs of the left-back.
04:48Really coming to his own in the last 12 months.
04:51Camped for the first time.
04:57That's Van Marijn.
04:58Oh, he nearly did it again.
05:03He had to get a real wiggle on to get over there to stop it.
05:08It wasn't right in the corner, but it certainly was travelling.
05:13And it was dipping in as well before the fingertips of the Ukrainian international.
05:21Making way for Shakhtar.
05:24So the goalscorer.
05:26Part of the double change.
05:28And on comes both Izaki and the man who was
05:33the goalscorer in the Netherlands last month in the Champions League for
05:38Shakhtar Donetsk.
05:39Gleika Mendoza, the Venezuelan.
05:49In comes the corner.
05:50The keeper was nowhere near it.
05:52And Ochereko had to do more with it.
05:55Shut it all out.
05:56Matt Vienkos ball forward.
05:57This is Izaki for Shakhtar.
06:01Alisson's going to have to work to keep it going, but he's reached it.
06:05Up against Schwaal Mario.
06:07Alisson, clever backheel.
06:10Tobias Faisier, the in!
06:13Off the goalkeeper, Brignoli.
06:17And Shakhtar for the first time tonight, Leeds.
06:28Gondar.
06:30Tchereko.
06:34Enrique.
06:35Quickly forward up towards Izaki.
06:38Maybe didn't see the challenge coming of Rota, but they've got it back again.
06:42Shakhtar.
06:43Mendoza.
06:46Mendoza!
06:47What a goal that is!
06:53Two Champions League games.
06:56Two goals for Mendoza this season.
07:08Found just a slither of space.
07:14And utilised it to its maximum potential.
07:27Brignoli blinked and it was past him.
07:33And Shakhtar have ensured the game has gone beyond I-Gathings now for sure.
07:40Now Arna Turan can let himself go.
07:49It's all gone horribly wrong.
07:53A first Champions League win of Shakhtar's season.
08:00And this young and hungry and entertaining Shakhtar Donets team.
