00:00Good morning Mothman Fisheries. Hi, I'm just wondering if you can help me. My Uncle Barry said that we're having
00:07fish and chips for tea. Yeah. But it never brings fish home, it just brings chips. So, I'm looking at
00:13getting me own fish. Oh, I'm sorry, you can't get fish from here, you can fish, but you can't take
00:18them home with you. What do you do with them? You put like a rod out, a little maggot on
00:22the end. A maggot? Yeah, maggot. My mum says Uncle Barry's got a maggot.
00:28Oh, no, it's like a worm and you put it on like a little up and the fish come and
00:32take it and then you pull them out. You have to put them back. So, you get your fish and
00:37then you put it in a net. Yeah. And you just leave it in the net. No, you get like,
00:41it's a long bird, it's called a disgorger and you have to get it in to get the hook out
00:45of the fish's mouth, put it back into the water and let it swim back. Yeah, you catch your fish
00:50and then you put it in a net and you say, oh, that's gorgeous and then. Not gorgeous, disgorger.
00:56So, you don't look at the fish and say, this gorgeous? Does your mum know you're on the phone, by
01:01the way? She's in bed, she's fast asleep, snoring. In bed? Yeah, I'm trying to sort my own tea out.
01:08If you come here, we've got a lovely cafe. A nice cafe? Yeah, she'd cook your fish in there. So,
01:14you'd cook your own fish? No, not off the fishery. You have to put back. Also putting catch in them
01:19then.
01:20Well, a lot of men come on and they have matches and then they get weighed and the biggest weight,
01:24they get loads of money. Well, I win everything because my mum's the heaviest weight.
01:29Oh, it's a good job your mum's in bed, isn't it, if she age you? I know, she's got mad.
01:35So, I can't catch a fish, bring it home, eat it? No, you can't. Like the Bear Grylls does that.
01:41I know Bear Grylls does, but honey, you can't. If you did, my husband would chase you out of the
01:46fishery. I think he might have a bit longer legs than you. Well, I think I can run faster because
01:51I've just ate a fish.
01:53What are you doing your dinner? Yeah, I'm trying to sort my tea out now. My Uncle Barry, he's just
01:58not coming through with fish and chips. My mum, she can't cook to save her life. And you're stopping me
02:06from getting a fish.
02:07Oh, I'm not stopping you. Starving hungry and you're not letting me eat. Oh, you're starving? Yeah, and you're not
02:12letting me eat. Go upstairs and wait your mum and say I want me dinner. I'd rather be starving.
02:19Can't be that bad. What sort of fish have you got? Carp at the biggest, up to £30. Up to
02:25£30? Yeah. Oh, I wouldn't be able to afford one of them.
02:29It's £30 in weight and it's not in money. You weigh them and it's on the scales. My Uncle Barry
02:35is always weighing my mum, but he gets all of my mum's jiggly bits and he goes, WAIED.
02:42No, not like that. It's a bit naughty, your Uncle Barry, isn't it? He's well naughty. You sound it. He
02:48is. You're a good boy. I'm a good boy, of course I am. Yeah, you sound it.
02:52So you go fishing and you catch a fish and put it back. Yeah, some people have pictures up with
02:57them as well. I've never took a picture of the fish that I've had from the chipper.
03:02So how much is it to come and fish? Five pounds a day. You'd have to come with an adult.
03:07Can't be under 16. How old are you?
03:10Three nearly six. You're too young. You'd have to bring Uncle Barry or your mum with you. Bring in Uncle
03:15Barry. What about your dad? I don't know my dad.
03:18Oh, I'm sorry. It's alright. Oh. It's okay. You don't have to be sorry. It's a bit sad. Everybody should
03:24know their dad. I've got an Uncle Barry. Is he good to you?
03:27Sometimes. He brings a load of money in from the plants that he sells in the attic. People love flowers
03:33more than they love fish. But I think you could be right. From the attic, did you say?
03:38He's selling the plants in the attic. Oh, right. And they stink. Like roses? No, not roses. They smell worse
03:45than fish.
03:47So if I come fishing, I'm not allowed to take the fish home and you're charging me a fiver.
03:53Yeah, it's dead cheap. That's like going shopping, getting a carrot, paying her and then giving a carrot back.
03:59No, because you can eat carrots, can't you? You can eat fish but you're not letting it.
04:03You can't eat these fish. It's called pleasure fishing. Uncle Barry spends a lot of time on his own doing
04:09something pleasurable. I don't think he's fishing.
04:12It must be them plants in the attic. I think they're sending him a bit too lower.
04:16A little bit, yeah. He's mental, that one.
04:19Speak to Uncle Barry and your mum and say, can you bring me fishing onto Moss Farm?
04:23We've got a tackle shop on here as well.
04:25A tackle shop? I don't think my mum can go because mum always says that she's going to hit Uncle
04:30Barry and his tackle.
04:32Oh. So my mum can't be around any sort of tackle.
04:35It's not that sort of tackle, it's fishing tackle like your rod and your poles, maggot, bait, ground bait.
04:41You just described Uncle Barry in three words then.
04:44Did I?
04:45Rod, tackle and maggot.
04:51That's what mum says about Uncle Barry all the time.
04:54So it's £5, come and go fishing.
04:57Yeah.
04:57You can't take the fish home.
04:59Nope.
04:59So it's just like throwing a fiver away, innit?
05:01No.
05:01You'll have a lot of fun.
05:03I'll make sure that I'll come and say hello.
05:05Yeah.
05:05And then I'll go and have some tea.
05:07Yeah.
05:08Uncle Barry can have a bit of fun with his tackle.
05:11That sounds like a plan, that.
05:12Right.
05:12Sorted.
05:13What's your name?
05:14It's Tracer.
05:15My name's Tim.
05:16Who's your husband?
05:18He's called Wayne, my husband.
05:20Is Wayne with you now?
05:21Yeah.
05:22Do you want to speak to him?
05:22Yeah.
05:23Yeah, I'll put him on now.
05:24It's Uncle Boy called him once.
05:26So yeah, you see ya.
05:27Hey Tim, you alright mate?
05:28Are you my real dad?
05:29No, no.
05:30Definitely not.
05:31No, all my kids are grown up.
05:33I'm grown up.
05:34I'm three nearly six.
05:35No, they're older than that.
05:37Where's your dad?
05:38I don't know.
05:38You don't see it?
05:39No.
05:39Aw, you miss it?
05:40You don't miss what you didn't have?
05:42Yeah, true.
05:42Fish before.
05:43Oh yeah, I've had a fish.
05:44Have you?
05:45Yeah, dead nice.
05:46It's from the chipper.
05:47No, have you ever caught a fish before?
05:48No.
05:49Right, I'll show you what to do.
05:50Okay.
05:51Alright then.
05:51Right, I'll see you in a bit.
05:53Take care.
05:53I love you.
05:54Love you.
05:55Love you, bye.
05:56Bye.
06:01I got a break.
