00:00Hello and welcome. You're watching 5 Live. I'm Soudal Merotra Kapoor.
00:04On the program today, three stories in focus.
00:07We'll start with what's happening with Imran Khan.
00:11Imran seriously can't protest in India anymore.
00:15In fact, he can't live in India anymore.
00:17He has now been summoned and told that he has to leave the country.
00:22Why? Because he has a US passport and because he was detained during a protest in Mumbai
00:26asking for the removal of the CDC.
00:30What exactly is the law on this?
00:33What is his asking to be or his asking to be leaving India really mean for the entire dissent protest?
00:43And how is he himself responding to the entire matter?
00:46We'll get down to all of those details on the program.
00:49Also, on the program, we're looking at the supreme lens on Dharna and detentions in all over 40 PILs
00:56for before the Chief Justice of India today and they were all talking about dissent.
01:04They were about protests of different kinds by Rahul Gandhi, by CJP, by the denotification of Jantar Mantra.
01:11And all of that was listed before the CGI.
01:14Really interesting because the Cockroach Jantar Party, which emerged out of a comment from CGI today came face to face
01:21on that matter.
01:23So that is really interesting.
01:24We'll tell you what happened over there.
01:28Yesterday we told you why Jantar Mantra mattered.
01:32Today we tell you it's history.
01:34What exactly is iconic about it?
01:36Why people are saying that this site should remain?
01:40And why now there are multiple cases in both High Court and Supreme Court asking for allowing Jantar Mantra as
01:47a protest site?
01:48But first up, as always, let's take you through the headlines.
01:51Adisa.
01:56Supreme Court pulls up Rahul for his conduct on October 12th, frowns over crowd entry into court premises.
02:03SC asked Rahul to explain October 12th action, expresses displeasure over Rahul's conduct.
02:10Supreme Court issues notices to CEC, poll body and the EC.
02:19Supreme Court issues notice over de-notification of Jantar Mantra says we'll examine if there was application in mind center
02:28defense as panel was formed.
02:37BJP, Lambas Rahul and AISA chief Neha Bora says big regime change bid attack.
02:44The BJP says Rahul's poster girl Neha wants regime change.
02:48Neha in her message had congratulated Bangladesh.
02:56Actor and Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan has been served a notice to leave India.
03:01By October 28th, Imran Khan protested despite being a US citizen.
03:06Action on Imran Khan under India's Immigration Act.
03:09Actor's legal team to approach Bombay High Court.
03:19Outrage over the Congress MP, a Khoi Jam, a woman BJP MPs meet the Lok Sabha Speaker, seek sacking of
03:28a Khoi Jam as MP, question the silence of Congress and Rahul Gandhi.
03:36And Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has suspended the food license of five Domino's Pizza outlets in Pune and Kholapur
03:43following inspections that reportedly revealed serious food safety and hygiene violations.
03:57Alright, let's start by throwing two images on your screen.
04:03Let's put that up and let's tell you a little bit of a story over there.
04:09Okay, on your left is a screen in which the real character played by Imran Khan, Ranjhor Ka Rathhaud from
04:182008 film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na played.
04:20And on your right side, that's Imran Khan in real life participating in an anti-CEC protest in Mumbai on
04:28October 10th.
04:3018 years separate, these two images.
04:33But the actor has now found himself at the centre of a real-life controversy, one that could force him
04:40to leave India.
04:42Mumbai police have issued Imran Khan a notice directing him to leave the country by the 28th of October.
04:52And the reason?
04:53His participation in a political protest despite being a foreign national.
04:57So here's what happened, let's take you through the timeline.
05:00On 10th of October, Imran Khan joined protesters at Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan who were demanding the resignation of Chief
05:07Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
05:09The protest was organised in solidarity with the Kokhra Janta Party's agitation.
05:13Police detained the actor along with hundreds of other protesters during the demonstration.
05:17But the controversy did not end there.
05:20BJP leader Kirat Somaiya approached the police, questioning how a foreign national could participate in a political agitation.
05:29He sought action against the actor and raised concerns over involvement of foreign citizens in such protests.
05:35The cop subsequently issued a notice, citing alleged violation of immigration and foreigners-related laws.
05:42But what exactly is this law? Let's deep dive into that.
05:47Section 7 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, empowers the central government of India to issue orders, directions or
05:56instructions to regulate, restrict or prohibit the entry, departure, presence or even movement of foreigners in India.
06:05Section 29 of the Act governs the power of removal.
06:09Imran Khan is an American citizen and an overseas citizen of India, or OCI.
06:14He's a cardholder.
06:16While OCI status allows eligible foreign individuals and citizens to live in India, under specific condition, it does not confer
06:24Indian citizenship.
06:26Restrictions also apply on certain political activities.
06:30But what does this mean?
06:32Will this be allowed to certain other actors, celebrities, who have foreign passports?
06:39How will this really work in the case of other, some protesters who also hold foreign passports?
06:47Well, so far, we've not seen the film industry react at all on this piece of news.
06:53But this is what Imran Khan said in his own words, the day he went for that protest and proudly
07:01went in for detention.
07:05I'm not sure.
07:50I believe that it is important for everyone to show up and show that there that we are
07:59not afraid and that there is actually no danger and no threat over here the only threat is from
08:05all of these people attacking with sticks all right Imran Khan over there happily was talking
08:13to the media going into the protest moments later he was detained and now he faces a charge a notice
08:20that he has to leave the country as well let me bring in our guest there to get a perspective
08:25on this matter joining me is Cyrus Brocha he's a theater personality comedian satirist columnist
08:31podcaster and author I'm trying to understand Cyrus here how how are we seeing this entire
08:41notice of Imran Khan to leave the country how do you see it yeah first I'm carrying everything I
08:47have my Aadhaar card I've got my passport everything here so that there's no trouble after this interview
08:52to make sure it's all cool I find this a little ridiculous honestly I think the right to dissent
08:58and right to protest should you know be fulfilled if we're a democracy and if he wants to do that
09:03let him do that the technicality of whether he's a citizen or not I mean it's also a bit ridiculous
09:07and it's just like a soft target I don't know why this is even news quite frankly I mean South
09:12Africa had a fantastic test match where you know we saw a great testing of 190 by Matt Venture I'd
09:18rather
09:18discuss that but quite honestly I think the government is going the whole thing is good
09:23they need some help they need my advice and what they're doing is not working I speak to a lot
09:27of
09:27these young people I use them to lean on when I'm physically tired I put my hand on their shoulder
09:32and
09:33you know they hold me up so I get a lot of feedback from them and I don't think this
09:37is the right thing
09:37to do I think honestly the only way forward in any democracy is dialogue conversations discussions
09:43that kind of thing and this is looking a little scary you know when we have 30 odd thousand in
09:48Delhi is closed down a police on on you know you can't even walk around an army personnel being
09:54called out for just what is at the face of it just a protest just a march you know dissent
10:00of some sort
10:00so I'm a little scared about all that but coming back to the Imran Khan thing I honestly think why
10:06why is this even an issue you're saying why is it even an issue but is the film industry also
10:12thinking like that I know you don't speak for them but can you nobody wants to talk people are still
10:18a little worried they say what they want to say in behind closed doors but they won't say anything
10:22openly this guy you'll cynics will say he does this for publicity but this goes viral immediately and
10:29we're all talking about this even though we're doing a show a few days later and you can have that
10:33thought but the end of the day I mean he has the right to join a protest aren't we in
10:36a democracy
10:37can't people show disagreement dissent can't people you know peacefully protest I mean isn't that part
10:44of the whole social fabric and then coming to the point of singling him out I think it's a little
10:48petty here so unnecessary okay so he holds a passport American passport he lives and works here and you
10:54know everybody knows that so I think I'm not happy I'm not happy with this whole situation I wish I
11:00was
11:01sorry this is not the first time every time we've seen Bollywood come out at least in the near future
11:09that I can recall past 10 12 years or so if one can recall every time a celebrity has shown
11:14dissent
11:14the one big one comes to mind is Deepika Padukone when she had gone and she had stood with some
11:19protesters at JNU then we saw cases against her all of that the opposition again the critics would say
11:25that all of these are pressure tactics to ensure that the voices of dissent and popular voices of
11:32dissent are kept at bay would you agree look the fact of the matter is people aren't the famous people
11:38VIPs people who earn much more money than you me and all the worlds we live in are not speaking
11:43up
11:44the reason they're not speaking up is because there's a sense of fear so if I was a government I
11:47would reduce that sense of fear allow little dissent and win this argument with the battle of minds and
11:53dialogue because that's what's going to count in the end we're not a fascist state we're not going
11:56to become North Korea we're not going to beat people it's not going to become Tiananmen Square
11:59so let's face it you can only win by winning people over and you win people over having
12:03conversations explain SIR explain the the election commissioners uh pattern and procedure explain all
12:10that put your argument forward that's the only way as far as I'm concerned why are we wasting time
12:14with poor Imran Khan you know I mean the real Imran Khan was in captivity is in another country
12:18and this poor fellow just being badgered for nothing uh you know and he went he attended a
12:23protest which was largely peaceful my son went that day to pick up a friend from uh I don't know
12:28if
12:28you're familiar with Mumbai Grand Road Station the police sent him back uh you know they shut the
12:32whole area and I mean it's it's not like a terrorist attack of sorts you know I think the whole
12:37overreaction
12:38and it's a little scary because we become like a police state and that's not fun and in the meantime
12:42then
12:42this becomes a big issue which is not an issue one guy who's uh well known is you know part
12:48of the
12:48protest and then you sort of pick on him and is he a foreigner not a foreigner I mean who
12:52cares really
12:52after a period of time I hear you but you're saying something important Cyrus you are saying
12:57that the film industry is scared and acts like this enforce that fear even further
13:06uh don't you think that's true I mean where the voices of the really the ace celebrities the super
13:11big guns and whether the actors and uh cricketers or you know but even the business community everyone
13:16I mean they'll say one thing but they won't say anything openly and uh just this idea to support
13:22free speech and allowing people to have different opinions and to actually question I mean you have
13:27to question governance that's part of being in a state of democracy I would think so I as long as
13:34the
13:34protest is peaceful as long as people are being behaving in a civil manner and in a courteous sort
13:39of manner what is the big issue about all this uh he was very well behaved from what I could
13:43see
13:43from the video Imran I don't think he misbehaved at all and maybe he was a little saki or cheeky
13:48but
13:48that's fine that's allowed um yeah so I'm a little I am a little disappointed that we don't have voices
13:53uh uh of famous people if you like or voices that count the moongahs and shakers not enough of them
14:00if they believe in this cause they should come out and talk about it definitely 100%
14:04that's not happening who was in shakers or shaker suman if lifting to this will not agree with
14:08you at the moment no he is he's doing his bit he's doing his bit no question in fact I
14:13thought he was
14:13one of the uh voices of you know uh let's say who go by the book but turned out to
14:19be quite different
14:20and yeah he's actually going hammering thongs and again that's basically satire and if we don't
14:25support satire and you know somebody using humor to make a point etc then I mean there's nothing left
14:30I might as well go back to Bharatnatyam and you know I do recitals
14:33what is there against Bharatnatyam I mean I also trained in one let's let's not go there
14:39let's not go there Cyrus but let me ask you me and Imran put up a nice recital and bring
14:44India
14:45together again that's a good one we'll ask we'll ask Imran Khan if he manages to stay back in India
14:50to answer that and take up your proposal but let me ask you slightly uh you know play the devil's
14:56advocate here many online have said that this was Imran Khan's supposed to be Imran Khan's big
15:03comeback the last time we saw him was in Janetu ya Janena he's done a couple of movies but that's
15:08been his biggest role the memes online I'm sure you've seen I'll ask my producer to flash them on
15:12the screen also this uh gran jhor ka rathod on his on his horse has become quite a meme people
15:19are
15:19saying that people are saying uh you know he can actually dance he can actually protest but he can't
15:26live in India all sorts of memes are being made online he seems to have caught the imagination of
15:32the young people at least uh but you know at this point many would say that what was this a
15:38publicity
15:38stunt could could this have been a publicity stunt I think even if it was or rather if it was
15:44slightly
15:46part of that you know they're not stupid people know by going there they're known people they're
15:50going to be seen people who are famous know that they're going to be pictured or photographed talked
15:54about they know there's a good chance it's good I mean let's face it that that's definitely there
15:57but but that's sort of negative for me you know at the end of the day he went and put
16:01his uh hand up
16:02and joined that protest and got detained and all it was a very uncomfortable thing to do
16:06he went and did all that and he kept his sense of humor he was quite charming he was not
16:10badly
16:10behaved at all so if I was in charge of the entire country I would not minus points for that
16:15I mean
16:16he does what he does look if the same government is in opposition they would be doing the same thing
16:20joining the CJP or whoever is protesting the kids or whatever you want to call them
16:24and I mean and that's the way it should be that's what democracy is if you leave aside the issue
16:29for a
16:29second the idea that you are allowed to show dissent to disagree to argue to protest peacefully
16:35and to have some sort of dialogue to come to I mean in any civil situation across the world
16:41that's the only way just hold on I'm told the prime minister is speaking with the Asian games
16:47winners let's just quickly take a look at that
16:49and join the
16:52and
16:53yeah
16:55yeah
16:56yeah
16:57yeah
16:57yeah
16:57I'm
16:59it
17:13yeah

31:472028
31:52Los Angeles

39:09I always say that what you play, you play.
39:17You play with the coming of the people of the people of the people of the people of the people
39:28of the people.
40:03Bikshita Bharat at 2047 we will do it, we will do it
40:17Top three economy, top three economy,
40:24Atmanirvar Bharat, Global Manufacturing Hub,
40:36Technology in Bhārath's leadership,
40:40Antrikshya Kadam, Olympics in Ayozan,
40:44Nye kholo me medals,
40:48Yes, we will do it.
41:19And talking about the bid further as well,
41:22the Prime Minister there at the Dhyanshan Stadium in the National Capital
41:25with the entire contingent and especially the winners of Asian Games.
41:34Alright, the dharna, the dhangal, the drama over anti-CEC protests in the National Capital
41:41reached the Supreme Court's door today.
41:43The apex court took grim view of Rahul Gandhi and opposition's march to the court on Monday,
41:50asking the leader of opposition to explain his behaviour and actions.
41:53The bench headed by the Chief Justice himself made it clear that nobody can browbeat the judiciary
42:00and that there can be no mob entry into the court premises as well.
42:05The top court issued notices to the Congress, to Rahul Gandhi and other of the India Bloc leaders as well,
42:10over this matter.
42:12The court also agreed to examine the denotification of a Jantar Mantra as a protest site,
42:17while directing the police to preserve CCTV footage
42:20and parties to preserve footage evidence linked to the protesters as well.
42:26Here's how it shaped out.
42:37The country witnessed unprecedented scenes on Monday when India Bloc leaders marched towards the Supreme Court
42:45to lodge plea against the SIR process and CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
42:52On Thursday, the apex court pulled up Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders over the march.
43:00The Supreme Court asked Rahul Gandhi to explain the intent behind the march
43:05as well as the disorder and commotion at the top court.
43:10It also observed that nobody can browbeat the judiciary
43:14and that there can be no mob entry into the court premises.
43:22The top court subsequently issued notices to Rahul Gandhi, Malik Arjun Kargayev,
43:27Akhilesh Yadav, Mahua Moitra and others over the breach of norms.
43:34The BJP has used the court's remarks to slam Rahul,
43:37accusing him of trying to create a naki.
43:46Hivir-adhan.
43:49Another plea,
43:50This is the right.
43:54Another plea,
43:57Kharul also had to be out.
44:09Another plea heard by the Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kanth
44:14and Justice Bakshi concerned the denotification of Jantar Mantar as a protest site.
44:20The court issued a notice on the plea and said it would examine whether the decision was taken
44:26after due application of MIND and whether it was based on an independent assessment
44:31of the site's suitability as a protest venue.
44:38The plea concerning detentions and violence during the protest was also heard by the Supreme Court.
44:43The centre argued that anybody with a mobile can be a journalist,
44:47adding that it was difficult to distinguish journalists from real makers.
44:52It also argued that anyone with a microphone could record videos and upload reels.
45:00The court directed the police to preserve all CCTV footage and asked private parties to preserve video evidence.
45:09All these issues come amid the wider controversy surrounding the SIR process and opposition heat on CEC Gyanish Kumar.
45:20All eyes will now be on the reply by top opposition NETA's due top court notice.
45:26With Anisha Mathur, Bureau Report, India Today.
45:32Clearly not the last we've heard of that just yet.
45:35That's all the time we have on the bulletin.
45:36Thanks so much for watching.
45:41You too.
45:43You too.
45:44You too.
45:45You too.
45:45You too.
45:45Sardis, khasi, zukham, everything is done in the house, in the office, in the school, in the metro, in the
45:50bus, in the taxi, everywhere.
45:52And to deal with it, everyone who came back to their country, which is called Giloye.
45:57But what does this Giloye work?
45:59In COVID, people have taken a lot of Giloye.
46:02After that, there were studies.
46:03What happened to that?
46:04Let's tell you all about this in this video.
46:06For this, we spoke with Dr. Ankit Nijara, consultant, physician and geriatrician.
46:10So, in the time of COVID, Giloye came back.
46:13But is it possible to save you from the disease?
46:16First of all, what is the data?
46:18Let's see.
46:19So, during COVID-19, April 2020, July 2021,
46:22Liver Research Club of India's doctors have researched about 13 hospitals in the country.
46:28In Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and many other cities.
46:32They got 43 patients after taking Giloye, which was damaged by Giloye.
46:3723 females, 20 males.
46:40This study was released in 2022.
46:42What happened to that?
46:43That in the past, the symptoms of Giloye started in about 1.5 months.
46:49And the death of two of them also had a liver transplant.
46:53So, these are very starting claims.
46:54And Giloye is endorsed by Ayush Ministries.
46:58So, when the details of Ayush Ministries have reached,
47:00Ayush Ministries said that this may not be pure Giloye.
47:03There are some adulterated things that are being sold.
47:06So, these are all the reactions, fair analysis.
47:11So, it seems that Giloye can be very dangerous.
47:14But after this countering it,
47:16that if you look in India,
47:17at least if you look at it,
47:18so, millions of people have taken Giloye.
47:20So, these are some cases that have come out of it.
47:22But because we don't have full data,
47:25full analysis,
47:26people are taking how many Giloye,
47:28there is no standardization,
47:30where it is produced,
47:31where it is coming,
47:32who is making it,
47:33there is no quality certificate.
47:35That's why Giloye tells Giloye a question mark.
47:39So, this is absolutely wrong,
47:42that Giloye is good or bad.
47:44So, at the moment,
47:45considering how many information we have,
47:47which people should not take it.
47:49If you have liver disease,
47:50if you have autoimmune conditions,
47:52if you are diabetic,
47:54if you are taking another immunosuppressant,
47:57if you are pregnant,
47:57so, without asking for the doctor,
48:00do not take Giloye from anywhere.
48:04And,
48:04if you are taking Giloye,
48:05if you are taking your eyes,
48:07if your urine is turning more yellow than usual,
48:10or if you are getting tired,
48:12then you should stop Giloye,
48:15and talk about it.
48:17If you have fever,
48:18in the mood,
48:19and you are thinking,
48:20if you are eating Giloye,
48:21then this is not going to happen.
48:23If your fever is more than three days,
48:25and you are eating Paracetamol,
48:26or regular Paracetamol,
48:27it is not going to take Paracetamol,
48:28so please,
48:29go to your doctor,
48:30and test the rest of the virus,
48:31and dengue,
