00:00We need to talk about the Dodger fans who didn't show up.
00:03Oh, let's talk about it, please.
00:05And well, I would like to say this.
00:08There was no excuse for the Dodgers not to sell out any.
00:12They didn't sell out any of the NLCS games, by the way.
00:15I was at game one of the NLDS.
00:17Parking was $75.
00:19Then it remains $75 throughout the course of the NLCS.
00:24Tickets are ludicrous.
00:27That is partly, I think, why.
00:30Dodger fans didn't show up, but it's still kind of embarrassing
00:34for a Los Angeles Dodgers team who, listen, game three wasn't like,
00:39oh, my God, this series is over.
00:41Why would we go?
00:42Game three was a chance for them to get back in the series,
00:44and even that one didn't sell out.
00:47And it led the league in attendance this year,
00:49so it's not like they're bad fans.
00:50They're great fans for whatever reason.
00:53I will say this.
00:54Those numbers are skewed a little bit.
00:56There are a lot of empty games.
00:58I watched a lot of Dodger home games.
01:00There was a lot of empty seats in the corners and at the top for a lot of
01:04those games that, you know, they'll say, oh, it's a sellout.
01:08And I'm looking up.
01:09I'm like, there's a camera angle on Freddie Freeman in the box.
01:12There's like, wow.
01:13There's like entire sections that are empty.
01:16So I think they skewed them.
01:17Go ahead, John.
01:18Raj posted a tweet tonight where he was there before the start of the game
01:23and panned the stadium.
01:25Man, it was a lot of empty seats.
01:29And this wasn't like, oh, it's the first inning because in the first inning
01:32in Los Angeles, it's hard to get anywhere, whether that be starting Laker games,
01:36Rams games.
01:37It doesn't matter.
01:37They usually show up late.
01:39But when they show up, they show out.
01:41And you got to respect that.
01:42But the fact that this image of this many empty seats,
01:49they got some explaining to do.
01:51Now, obviously, you see different ballparks.
01:54The energy in the ballpark gives the players a little extra something.
01:58That's what home field advantage is supposed to be about.
02:01But if the fans don't do their part and the players are, you know,
02:06sucking wind out there, it's just a bad look all around.
02:09It's a bad look for the Dodgers for running out of gas at this time of the year
02:12when they did.
02:13It's a bad look for the fan base to not show up.
02:16And, you know, they got swept for a reason.
02:19Milwaukee was better.
02:21Milwaukee, I forgot to say this in the open,
02:24but Milwaukee embodies everything that I love about the game of baseball.
02:29They just do.
02:30As much as I am a Dodger fan, I am a baseball fan.
02:34I played the game of baseball through the Division I level.
02:38I saw how the game was supposed to be played,
02:41and I was taught the game the right way.
02:43And the Dodgers didn't play the game the right way.
02:47They didn't move runners over when they were supposed to.
02:50They didn't play small ball when the Brewers did.
02:53The Brewers pitching staff was phenomenal.
02:56They knew how to get out those juggernaut hitters that the Dodgers had.
03:02And it's a little bit of both.
03:04It's the Dodgers underperforming and the superstars not showing up for long periods of time.
03:11That top five, that vaunted top five that they had wasn't good.
03:16The best players on the roster were, I would say, Tarek Skubel.
03:22He pitched pretty well, even though he didn't win.
03:25And Andy Pau has in Kyle Tucker.
03:28Those are their three best players.
03:30Let me argue this.
03:31Styles make fights.
03:34The idea that this roster is now going to play small ball.
03:38I know there are situations, and we talked about this previously,
03:41where you do need to bunt if you got nobody out and a man on first and second.
03:45You do need to bunt that guy over in these particular situations
03:48where you're in a one or two-run game.
03:49But this roster, and we got to say this, with these paychecks,
03:54they don't pay these guys the bunt.
03:56They don't.
03:57And so the fact that anybody would think that they would now switch their style
04:01to match the Brewers' style to combat the scoreboard,
04:06that was never going to happen.
04:08People were expecting for Ohtani to hit the bombs that he hit in games one, two, and three.
04:13And he didn't.
04:14And this is why, by the way, Ohtani, you don't play if you're hurt, buddy.
04:17Because no one cares.
04:18No one cares.
04:19I mean, some of the swings that I saw out of this Dodgers team
04:24were some of the worst swings I've seen any hitter take all season.
04:28I'm not even talking about the Dodgers.
04:30I mean, they were swinging at sliders that were five feet away from them.
04:35It wasn't even close.
04:37And again, I am trying to give Milwaukee credit
04:40because their bullpen absolutely lights out.
04:43Ashby is phenomenal.
04:45That pen that they have is incredible.
04:47And there's a reason why the Milwaukee Brewers are advancing to the World Series
04:51is because they played sound baseball defensively in their staff.
04:57Padres fans know it, too.
04:58Dodgers fans now get a taste of it.
04:59Oh, yeah.
05:00They play sound baseball.
05:01And I love that.
05:03Not to mention, I said this before the series,
05:05they had a massive chip on their shoulder.
05:08Pat Murphy, their manager, went into this series mad, angry.
05:12Like, I don't want this to happen again.
05:14They swept us last year.
05:16They had that motivation behind them to where,
05:18hey, we're going to go in there and shove it down their throat this year.
05:22They return the favor.
05:24They return the favor.
05:25And listen, I love my Dodgers.
05:27They have some decisions to make.
05:29So, let's do this on the Shifu.
05:29Here we go.
05:29Here we go.
