00:00Man, I'll tell you, it just looked to me like the Dodgers going so deep for so many years.
00:06Tim, it just looked like they ran out of gas and they ran into a buzzsaw because that Brewers team
00:10right now is playing as good a baseball as anybody that we've seen in recent memory here.
00:16Just your overall thoughts here on how the season went and how the season ended for the Dodgers here.
00:23Well, we'll start with last night and this week.
00:27It's, you know, they picked a bad week to have a bad week, right?
00:31That's kind of what happened.
00:33They did not do well with runners in scoring position.
00:35They were two for 11 again last night.
00:38Through the entire postseason, they were almost anemic with runners in scoring position.
00:44They get a guy like last night, they had a chance to tie it two consecutive innings, run around third,
00:48less than two outs, couldn't get them in.
00:51So, you know, you've got hitters chasing pitches, but Milwaukee capitalized.
00:56And you have to tip your cap to the Brewers for the season they've had and for what they did
01:01against the two-time defending champs.
01:03They knew they were going to see a tough team.
01:05They really did.
01:06But I think that whole organization, and again, don't overlook the advanced scouting people, their analytics people.
01:13Those people contributed greatly to what we just saw.
01:18And, you know, frankly, I don't see anybody else beating them the way that they're playing right now, the way
01:26that they're pitching right now.
01:28They were the best team in baseball record-wise during the course of the year, and there's no reason to
01:33think they aren't now.
01:35But they, you know, they're on to their first World Series since 1982.
01:40They've never won one.
01:42This is the first time as a National League team they've gone to the World Series.
01:45Remember, in 82, they were in the American League at that point.
01:49But I don't know.
01:50I wish them the best of luck.
01:51They got a lot of great people, a lot of talented people there, and, you know, they earned it.
01:55They definitely earned it, winning four straight.
01:57Coming back from four down last night, you know, Ohtani gets back into it.
02:01I thought the night before when he rifled one up the middle, a big single, he squared it up.
02:06And I said, okay, he's getting close.
02:08And then he hit the three-run bomb last night.
02:10I said, okay, we're getting shades of Ohtani back, best player in the world, which he is.
02:17And just wasn't enough.
02:18Just couldn't get it done in the end.
02:20But all in all, seasonally, I thought it was another really good season.
02:24And any time you have a chance to get to the National League Championship Series, you know, you've had a
02:32really good season.
02:32But the expectations from Dodger fans are much higher because the Dodgers have won the last two years in a
02:39row.
02:39And look where they've been.
02:41I mean, since 2017, they were in the World Series, lost to Houston.
02:44Next year in the World Series, lost to Boston.
02:47You know, then in 20, they win it.
02:4924, 25, they win it.
02:51So, yeah, the expectations are really, really high.
02:57The narrative that this team's just too old now, I don't know if I buy that completely.
03:02But from what you said, Dan, it did look like they were out of gas in certain areas.
03:08Maybe that was the case.
03:10Consider the fact, not making an excuse here, just saying these guys have played a lot of baseball together the
03:15last few years.
03:16Beginning of the 24th season, they opened in Korea, right?
03:20Came back, played right away, went to the World Series.
03:25That's a long season.
03:26The next year, they went to Japan to start the season, back-to-back season starting in Asia.
03:30Then they have to come back, get used to the time again, all that stuff.
03:34It was a World Baseball Classic mixed in there as well.
03:38So, for a lot of these guys, that's a lot of baseball.
03:40That's a ton of baseball in a three-year period.
03:44And, you know, this is a little earlier than they're accustomed to hanging them up for the year.
03:48But I think some of these guys will get ample rest of whatever medical attention they need.
03:54And they'll be back, and they'll be one of the favorites again next year, no matter what the roster looks
03:58like.
03:58Because the core roster, with guys like Shohei Otani and Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, you know, and pitchers like
04:07Yamamoto and Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow, who we know are under contract, you know, those are pretty solid pieces
04:13to have in your puzzle for 2027.
04:16So, let's get started.
