00:17learned about a dog whose owner sadly passed away she and her husband dave agreed to foster her
00:23her owner had been living with dementia and rescuers thinks that she may have been overfed
00:27without her owner even realizing it the vet with triangle beagle was so supportive she's like
00:32here's how much food you're gonna feed her you're just gonna limit the snacks and we also had to be
00:36super cognizant about her activity because autumn weighed 72 pounds it was very risky for her legs
00:43and back to take long walks so trisha and her husband created a routine where they would go on short
00:47walks
00:48throughout the day we would walk her in the neighborhood and people thought she was
00:52wearing some kind of big puffer jacket and so they'd be like oh oh my god that's a dog
00:58but she was so friendly and happy and sweet
01:07every time you walked in that door it was like you were a rock star
01:18very quickly she began making progress trisha and her husband weighed her every week and each
01:22week she was consistently down a pound and a half to even two which is a huge success

01:47but just as autumn was finally hitting her stride everyone noticed she had started limping turned out
01:51she had a torn ligament and needed surgery luckily she had lost enough weight safely that she could have
01:56the procedure and afterwards the difference was incredible
