00:00There is a different feel to the weather through this weekend compared to what we've had through much of this
00:05autumn so far.
00:07It's a fair bit fresher. That being said, there is plenty of sunshine around.
00:11In fact, looking at the earlier satellite imagery, we can see just how little cloud there was overnight.
00:17And as a result, it turned quite chilly. There was a touch of frost in places.
00:21Some places fell a couple of degrees below freezing.
00:24And it was all due to this high pressure which moved in from the Atlantic.
00:27And that's dominating our weather, keeping things pretty quiet for most places this weekend.
00:32Not everywhere because further away from the high, towards the east-southeast, we have some brisker winds and also a
00:38few showers pushing through.
00:40And those showers are going to continue as we go through into the afternoon.
00:43So particularly across parts of East Anglia, those showers are going to be relatively frequent.
00:47But a few showers may be darting a bit further west and feeding towards London, maybe Kent, through later in
00:53the afternoon as well.
00:54Also, a few sherry bursts for the far north of Scotland, but otherwise, most places having a dry day.
00:59Plenty of sunshine for Scotland, Northern Ireland, western parts of England and Wales.
01:03A little bit more cloud for central and eastern areas.
01:05But even here, there will be some sunshine at times.
01:08Despite the sunshine, though, as I mentioned, there's a fresher feel to things.
01:11Now, these temperatures are around average for the time of year, but they're a fair bit lower than what we've
01:16had through much of autumn so far.
01:18Looking at highs ranging from just about getting into double digits in the north to 14s or 15s further south.
01:24Just worth noting, across parts of the east-southeast, that brisk wind, well, that's going to make it feel a
01:30bit fresher, especially towards the North Sea coasts.
01:33A few more bursts of showery rain across parts of the southeast to come this evening and across the far
01:38north of Scotland too.
01:38Here, the showery rain should clear away overnight, but across eastern areas, I'm expecting a few more outbreaks of rain
01:44to come in at times as we go through the early hours of Sunday morning.
01:48Otherwise, though, lots of dry, clear weather.
01:50And if anything, temperatures through Saturday night are going to be a little bit lower than they were on Friday
01:56night.
01:56So we could get lows of maybe minus three, minus four Celsius across the shelter glens of Scotland.
02:01Parts of Northern Ireland could drop a couple of degrees below freezing as well.
02:04And maybe some western parts of England and Wales dropping below freezing.
02:07So a bit of frost here and there, a bit of a crisp start perhaps.
02:10But in the east, where there's a bit more clouds, some brisker winds, a bit blustery at times, temperatures not
02:15dropping as low here.
02:18So Sunday is going to be a wetter day across those eastern areas.
02:23There will be more rain around.
02:24It's going to spread a little bit further westward, so across parts of northeast England, perhaps into the Midlands, some
02:29outbreaks of rain.
02:30And then again across east and southeastern areas, we will see some rain and perhaps turning a bit heavier, a
02:35bit more persistent as we go through the afternoon and into the evening as well.
02:39Meanwhile, western areas and across Scotland and Northern Ireland, it's staying dry.
02:44Again, lots of sunshine around.
02:45Just watch out for the potential for a front in the far northwest to edge to the far northwest of
02:51Scotland, bring a bit more cloud and perhaps a little bit of rain here.
02:54Again, yes, there's a fair amount of sunshine around, but still those temperatures near normal for the time of the
03:00year and fresher than it has been lately.
03:03So once more, we're looking at highs around 11 or 12 Celsius in the north, 14s or 15s further south.
03:08Still those blustery winds in the east, making it feel a bit fresher than this.
03:13Now, as we head into next week, there will be some showery rain around through Monday after what could be
03:18a bit of a chilly and perhaps even foggy start, especially across northern parts.
03:21But it's as we go through the week where we have the potential for some wetter and windier weather.
03:26That's definitely something to keep on top of.
