00:00Hello, hope you're having a great weekend. Whilst there has been plenty of fine sunny weather around,
00:06you may have got that thick jumper out, and it's because we have colder air across us
00:11than we've had through much of this season. The high pressure that's over us bringing the settled conditions,
00:16allowing for cold air to come in from the north and the northeast.
00:19As we go into the beginning of next week, a slight shift in our wind direction will allow for temperatures
00:24to lift,
00:24but with that then, we're going to see a weather system coming through, so that's going to bring some wet
00:28weather as well.
00:29More on that in just a second. Back to this evening, and a bit of rain across the far north
00:33of Scotland,
00:34a little bit of rain across some eastern parts of England, but otherwise a dry picture to end the day,
00:38and dry for many overnight. Lots of clear skies, especially towards the west and across Scotland,
00:44Northern Ireland, western parts of England and Wales. Here it's going to be quite chilly.
00:48Further east, there's a bit of cloud, a few showery outbreaks of rain, but not a huge amount.
00:53Here, the breeze will stop temperatures from dropping especially low, but elsewhere where we have those clear
00:59skies, light winds. Well, temperatures are going to drop, perhaps a little bit colder than last night.
01:03It could get as low as maybe minus three or minus four Celsius, perhaps in the sheltered glens of Scotland,
01:08maybe some prone spots. Rural areas of Northern Ireland could get that low, and even across some parts
01:12of western England and Wales, a bit of frost around first thing on Sunday morning,
01:16maybe the odd pocket mist and fog as well.
01:19Then Sunday itself, further outbreaks of rain across eastern areas.
01:22They are going to filter a bit further westwards, a bit further westwards than we saw through today,
01:26and actually some more persistent, perhaps even heavier rain pushing into parts of the far south-east of England,
01:32maybe clipping some coastal parts of Suffolk, Essex and also Kent.
01:37Elsewhere, lots of fine sunny weather yet again, especially across Scotland and Northern Ireland,
01:41just perhaps a bit more cloud towards the far north-west of Scotland and a bit of a breeze here.
01:46Despite the sunshine, yes, temperatures are still well around average for the time of year,
01:50so there's still that relatively fresh feel, especially in the east where we have those blustery winds.
01:55They are going to make it feel a little bit colder than elsewhere.
01:59More sherry rain coming in from the south-east as we go through Sunday evening and Sunday night into Monday.
02:05Could be a bit heavy at times. It's going to spread across much of England and Wales.
02:09Mostly dry, though, across Scotland and Northern Ireland with clear skies.
02:13Just the far north-west may see a bit of drizzly rain arriving.
02:16Otherwise, yes, with these clear skies across Scotland and Northern Ireland, again, a chilly night here.
02:21Frost quite likely in rural spots. Some mist and fog to watch out for.
02:25Could be a bit dense in places first thing on Monday morning.
02:28And then elsewhere, well, we have that milder air that I mentioned at the start starting to come in from
02:33the south-east.
02:33So not quite as chilly a fresher night, especially with the cloud and the rain compared to, well, some recent
02:39nights.
02:40Then Monday itself, there will be outbreaks of rain around.
02:43They are going to filter further north and westward.
02:45So whilst they're initially across England and Wales, they are going to spill into parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland,
02:50where it will turn cloudier with a few outbreaks of rain arriving, particularly later on in the afternoon.
02:55Meanwhile, further south, something drier, maybe even brighter, developing.
02:58But there will still be some showery bursts here and there.
03:02Temperatures, like I say, will be a bit higher because we have that change in wind direction.
03:06So we're looking at highs around maybe 16, possibly 17 Celsius.
03:09So only up a degree or so.
03:11And with a bit more cloud, less sunshine, it may not necessarily feel that much warmer.
03:17But nonetheless, on paper, temperatures will be a little bit above average for the time of year.
03:22Looking ahead as we go deeper into next week, and well, Tuesday is likely to bring some more bursts of
03:28showery rain here and there.
03:29But we do really then need to look out to the Atlantic because there are some features developing.
03:34There's the potential for, well, a relatively deep air of low pressure to develop and push towards us as we
03:40head towards the latter stages of the week.
03:42That's definitely something we're going to be keeping on top of.
