00:04... avoid by their Europa League victory over Crystal Palace.
00:07Lyon are looking to go top of the league tonight.
00:09Even a slender victory over Nice would be enough to take
00:12Paolo Fonseca's team above PSG on goal difference.
00:18You have to go back five years to see Lyon side top of the table
00:22after seven matches.
00:23But Fonseca's team have a very real chance.
00:26They've shown character already this season.
00:28It's their thirteenth match.
00:30They've had six European fixtures to negotiate
00:34as well as six Ligue 1 games.
00:36Little wonder.
00:38Fonseca is rotating his side.
00:41Eight changes tonight from the Thursday night contest against Palace.
00:50Nice winning under Olivier Pontelloni,
00:53victorious in their last two matches.
00:55A couple of good scouts as well at the Allianz Riviera.
00:58And Zeglon defeating Lille before the international break
01:02and then last weekend defeating Strasbourg.
01:07That after failing to win any of their first four matches.
01:11that the Pontelloni effect seems to be taking shape.
01:19Very highly rated and respected coach Olivier Pontelloni.
01:25That's some fine work with L'Orient for making the move in the summer to Nice.
01:44It's not full this stadium but create quite the din.
01:50Supporters are behind each goal in particular.
01:54Very vocal.
01:55It's a good cross.
01:56It's gone a long way as well.
01:59Appeals for another corner but it does look like a goal kick this.
02:05Mahmoud Amoura had come back to try to make himself available there.
02:11Live league table shows that Lyon with the points that they would get at the moment.
02:18Up to 12.
02:19Of course if they could get a win they would climb right to the summit.
02:24Up and up.
02:25Up and up going for goal.
02:27It was a little bit optimistic that.
02:29And he does apologize to his teammates.
02:41Beautifully done by Karl Budash.
02:44I was going to say a good recovery but the Nice player penalized by Francois Le Texier.
02:52And it is the first yellow card of the evening as well.
02:58Niels Nkunku, the left wing back.
03:03I thought he'd done well to get back but does it just tug Budash here on the shirt?
03:07Yes he does.
03:11Quite clearly slowing the Algerian winger down.
03:20Touched off by Wai for Budawi.
03:27Close.
03:29The ball from Jonathan Close.
03:30Big chance.
03:31And Nice with their first opportunity have taken the lead.
03:35Clinical.
03:36From L.E.Y.E.
03:42Well it had been all Lyon inside these first 17 minutes.
03:48But we know that Nice have got some outstanding players.
03:53Jonathan Close showing off his crossing ability there.
03:56And L.E.Y.E doing exactly what he has been brought in to do.
04:02It started with Mohamed Amoura.
04:06Getting away from Atakame.
04:10He's switching the play across to the right hand side.
04:14Close looking up and the quality of this pass.
04:18Absolutely outstanding.
04:20Nelly Wai managed to anticipate.
04:23Nipped in front of the defender and supplied a classy finish.
04:31That is what Nice have been doing in recent matches.
04:35Taking their chances when they come.
04:39Noura.
04:40Noura.
04:41What sets the Orcs view for that and he's feeding.
04:41In fact.
04:51One hump.
04:57Another hump.
04:59Now we know facilitate clients who are appearing completely.
04:59And now we dla theун.
05:00It's siitä flow.
05:00And now.
05:03We take off their mandatory chase scene trauma.
05:06Now.
05:07We take off their stairs on球.
05:08The enough sea.
05:09Freshman's upper lift.

05:40here for Lyon, good save
05:44Irvan Dürf reacting
05:49very disappointed Tana Tessman took this out on the home world cup
05:53having part of the United States plans in the build up
06:00Piranville with the shot
06:01oh this time Dürf is killed here and Schultz scores
06:06Pavel Schultz, ever the predator, gets Lyon back on level terms
06:15that's two goals
06:18for Pavel Schultz in the last three days
06:21a winner against Crystal Palace and he's got another important goal here for Lyon
06:30Irvan Dürf will be disappointed, he didn't do better
06:36in dealing with Duranville's shot
06:38good play from the young Belgian but Dürf either needs to hold it
06:42or push this ball to safety, he's done neither
06:45and has instead gifted the Czech Republic international an opportunity
06:51Schultz accepted and it's Lyon one, Nice one
07:03really nicely done by Pavel Schultz
07:06not shooting first time just dinking the ball away from the goalkeeper
07:10and then presenting himself with a very simple finish
07:22and Dwayne Chimier is going to be spoken to
07:25and Dwayne Chimier is going to be spoken to
07:42in the league down this season
07:44according to the Europa League
07:46the oven
07:49selling Brudas short but Brudas reacting superbly well
07:52that's where he's
07:54so good, so tricky
07:57jinking in and out of tackles like that
08:17and it's two
08:20two goals for Lyon in the space of three minutes
08:23and Fonseca's men have turned this one around
08:27the American international Tana Tessman
08:31back in the starting line-up tonight
08:36his first league and start of the campaign and he marks it with a goal
08:49and what a turnaround here at the Group Armour Stadium
08:54Atacame's delivery is superb
08:57Tessman times his run
09:00and then heads it absolutely beautifully
09:02no chance for Dürth
09:03and Lyon 2-1 up now
09:15now Ponte Loney cannot believe it because the plan was going perfectly up until five minutes ago
09:23now will they go short again or
09:25might Brudas whip this one into the box
09:28Tessman
09:30looking to use his size to
09:32a good advantage again
09:36Brudas going towards that far post
09:38it's headed down by a Lyon player
09:40Niachate it was I think
09:43just off target this time
09:45and that will be half time at the Group Armour
09:49Lyon
09:50looked to be in a spot of bother when
09:52Eli Wai put the visitors in front on 18 minutes
09:55but Pavel Schultz
09:56got Lyon level soon after the half hour
09:59and then Tana Tessman
10:02Lyon 2-1
10:04head then against Nice
10:05he's 45 minutes left in this one
10:07as the home side
10:08look to
10:10clinch a victory that would take them to the top of the standings
10:20here's Tessman
10:21here's Tessman
10:24Abner
10:29Schultz did well there to use his body and help the ball back to Abner
10:34here
10:34when he was Rounds goalkeeper found himself in the French cup final
10:38in a relegation playoff
10:40and Rounds got badly beaten in the cup final by PSG
10:42and then relegated in the playoff
10:44and last season
10:45there's a very similar story
10:48with Nice
10:49Jonathan Close with the corner
10:51all the headers off the crossbar
10:54Nice so close to levelling it
11:02and it was a really good delivery
11:04and that man again Jonathan Close
11:07Axel Witzel with the glancing header that
11:11beat Remy Deskamp but not the crossbar
11:15Witzel finding a little pocket of space at the near post
11:18and it's a super header from the Belgian
11:20so unfortunate
11:22Axel Witzel not to score his first Ligue 1 goal there
11:30football from Nice
11:32Budawi now finds him Kunku
11:33and Kunku with the shot
11:36this is more like it from Nice
11:38all of a sudden they're giving it a go
11:40and they're causing Leon real problems
11:44and Kunku's left footed effort just
11:46sliced wide in the end
11:53Č можете na鉄
11:54reakont
11:54LeLAN
11:54get into a touch
11:55a push
12:00no
12:07it got there he's giving it away
12:09close
12:10chance here
12:11maybe
12:11Amora
12:12Amora on his left foot, deflected wide, more desperate defending from Lyon who were putting themselves in trouble really, Mata
12:23did well to get that block in, now Gautier Ein to take, Schultz with the head up, Ein back to
12:40close,
12:46Anza for Abdelmonen, flurry of corners for Lyse Eglon, another Jonathan Close ball in, headed away by Narty, Abdelmonen with
12:59the up and under, Descamps comes and makes it,
13:10impossible though for Val Boudache to keep one alive, an apology from 30 year old Remy Descamps,
13:20he's out, now Eli Wei, looking to threaten the Lyon goal, Gautier Ein, Ein inside for Witzel, no foul on
13:34Axel Witzel, deflection though, Daudi it was, pulling the track,
13:46Red card, Nakamura has been sent to the stands, only been on the pitch for a few minutes,
13:56there's been an undercurrent in this second half, we've seen yellow cards for Nice players, but it is Lyon's Keto
14:06Nakamura who has been shown a red,
14:11let's have a look, he's, he's looking at the ball, of course he is, he's focused totally on the ball,
14:17but his leg is very,
14:19very high, he's not in control of his action, because he just doesn't see Abdelmonen coming, and it's a painful
14:26blow,
14:31well, Lyon were already on the back foot and up against it, they're down to 10 men now for the
14:35last 20 minutes,
14:51Niacarte trying to make the case, Nakamura explaining how it was accidental, it was accidental, but that is not enough,
15:05you have to be in control of your body out on the football pitch, if you're going to raise your
15:09foot that high,
15:11you need to know what's going on around you, and it is tough, because he was just trying to bring
15:17this ball down under control,
15:19but it's a real problem for Lyon.
15:37Mora finding Ain, now Nkunku, and now Waii, how did that stay out?
15:47A huge chance for Nice to draw level, excellent build-up play, Elie Waii arrives off the post,
15:55and how lucky is Remy Descartes there?
16:01Waii a whisker away from getting his second of the night.
16:07Flipped in by Gautier Ain.
16:10Descartes comes and collects.
16:13It's going to be a real test for him, Remy Descartes, as well as Lyon's outfield players, of course.
16:19He was a happy man there as the header hit the post and came straight into his arms.
16:29It's back trying to organise the defence, he's playing in the middle of a back five now.
16:36Nkunku finds Ndaya Shimye, up to Mone.
16:48Nice keep the ball, this is Monza.
16:50Nkunku goes for goal, and that's not really what Nice wanted at that moment in time.
16:56It just relieves the pressure on Lyon.
17:06A kick for the foul on Atakame.
17:17Tolisso, beautifully done.
17:19Maybe a chance now for Lyon.
17:21Midstrip, midstrip with the shot.
17:27Way over.
17:29Beautiful pass though from Tolisso to Merat.
17:32Werrih.
17:38Not a time for any way.
17:40I get that one right.
17:42This is it.
17:46.
17:54.
18:00.
18:17Isak Jensen, the substitute who is on, as the header is not harmless enough.
18:2624-year-old Swede, who's had a difficult time at Lyon.
18:31Difficult time at Nice, sorry, just the one goal to his name in 25 league appearances.
18:37Lyon, corner awarded, that is the rule now, it'll take too long over a goal kick.
18:43Sofiane Diop to take. Diop's delivery.
18:49Headed clear by Lyon, it was Clivert as he shot his rifle over again.
18:55This time from Ali Doucedu.
19:06Here's Waii. Hamid Amoura.
19:16Nkunku, Nkunku gets the shot away, straight into the arms of Remy Descones.
19:21And a big cheer goes up around the Group Armour Stadium. He was being fouled, Nkunku.
19:28Referee having played advantage. Not. I thought it was Waii. Had it been Waii, it may have ended up in
19:35the back of the net.
19:46Nice coming again. They've given it a real go in this second half. Here's Morgan Sanson.
19:51Sanson's cross is good and it is anyway.
19:56Nice have done it in the third minute of Aditai. And the man who just loves scoring against Lyon has
20:03done it again.
20:11They dug in with 10 men.
20:15But their resistance has been undone right at the death.
20:21Quality from Morgan Sanson.
20:24Question marks here though about the positioning of Waii. Is he onside or is he just off?
20:32VAR will be looking. He's finished beautifully.
20:41Getting ahead of his marker for the second time tonight and finishing.
20:49Lyon 2, Nice 2. Lyon denied top spot.
20:55Assuming this goal stands.
21:01Apolo Fonseca cannot believe it.
21:06To Nice.
21:09The goal is, it's being checked.
21:13And it is really close this. It is really close.
21:25It's unclear. It's unclear as to what the decision is.
21:39No goal.
21:41Eliway is offside.
21:44Drama at the Group Armour Stadium.
21:47Joy for the Lyon fans. Heartbreak.
21:50For Nice.
21:53They've thrown everything at Lyon.
22:03They're not roaring to the top, Lyon.
22:05But Lyon have gone to the top of the league tonight.
22:09They've survived a late scare against Nice.
22:13They have held on with ten men.
22:16And that is the final with Solopil and Ace.
22:19Take on three points.
22:20With Alamacic 2-1 a victory over Nice.
22:22Goals from Pavel Such and Tanner Tessman.
22:24Completely come back.
22:25And despite the late scare,
22:27with Arisa Laud equalizer, Lyon hold on.
22:29And most importantly...
