00:00We have moisture in the west coming from two separate angles.
00:03In the short term, showers and thunderstorms are already breaking out in some parts of Arizona and New Mexico
00:07as tropical moisture has surged north, but there's another storm system slowly drifting south off the west coast
00:14that will begin to introduce rain showers to San Francisco's forecast Tuesday,
00:18but we're still dry, just a bit cooler in Los Angeles as the winds begin to shift onshore.
00:24The tropical moisture will be bringing showers and storms into the interior
00:27while we wait for the rain to roll into L.A., especially by Wednesday.
00:31We'll begin to get wet in Southern California, so the showers and storms will be breaking out
00:35in many areas here across Arizona and New Mexico.
00:38There will be a risk of flash flooding on Tuesday, but the greater chance for rain
00:42for the most populated parts of the southwest rolls in on Wednesday
00:46with that moisture flinging onshore for the coastal storm.
00:49There will be a little bit of snow in the Sierra up in the highest elevations, drought relief.
00:53This will mitigate some fire danger, but showers and storms could become severe
00:57in Arizona and New Mexico as the coastal storm introduces even more wind energy aloft.
