00:00Sad morning.
00:03Guardians lost season over.
00:06To brighten everybody's spirits, ladies and gentlemen, let's go to the wise heart right.
00:09We make a right called Kyle Wright Highline.
00:11Welcome in Zach Jackson.
00:12Talk about the bronze who did win on Sunday.
00:14Hello, Zach.
00:15Who canceled on you guys?
00:17Keon Fahey?
00:18Nope.
00:22Nobody canceled.
00:23You were chosen.
00:26I don't think we're ever getting your colleague Robert Mays.
00:28I don't think that's happening.
00:31I do have a question.
00:33How many people have called in complaining about the Cayman Arrow home run celebration?
00:39Nobody.
00:40Really?
00:41No.
00:41They're mad at vote.
00:42They're mad at ownership.
00:46Nobody complained about Junior Cayman Arrow.
00:48Okay.
00:49That surprises me, but I get it.
00:51Well, you know I want everyone and everything off my lawn.
00:56Yeah.
00:57Yes.
00:58Yeah, but hey.
00:59It took him how many seconds, Kenny, to get around?
01:0138.7 seconds to get around the bases.
01:04Yeah, I would have guessed even more.
01:06It was rather ridiculous.
01:07That's David Ajokers 40 time right now.
01:11Zach, where you find with...
01:12He got hurt!
01:13You psycho!
01:14Oh, that was before he got hurt.
01:16Okay, there you go.
01:17Zach, where you find with...
01:18And he happens back hanging in the air for 38.7 seconds.
01:22You know what's funny about that, Owen, is I was at the game, so I didn't even know because
01:27like a stranger was hugging me and I couldn't see.
01:30I agree.
01:30I was high-fiving people three rows over.
01:32Yeah.
01:32Three sections over.
01:34You're going to do it.
01:35You got to accept it on the other end.
01:37I dig.
01:38All right.
01:39Well, either way.
01:40Here we are.
01:41Hey, the Browns won.
01:43They did.
01:44They win every Sunday.
01:46That was pretty amazing.
01:48How the hell did they do that on Sunday?
01:50Yeah, that was the wildest of them all, right?
01:52And they've all been wild because they've all been decided in the last two minutes and sometimes
01:55by multiple possessions.
01:57That one was a wildest because the offense was just dead and they were down 10-0 right
02:02off the bat.
02:03So it's insane.
02:07You know, they forced the turnover.
02:09Carson Schlesinger was the hero.
02:10They had some unlikely heroes, Sam Kamara and Audrey Kestime.
02:14And that's what it takes.
02:18If this is going to continue, and it might, you know, you have to win your home division
02:23games and they've won two of them.
02:25And they're four and two going to play the Tennessee Titans.
02:28So you think the Browns have a bad offense?
02:30Wait till you see the Titans.
02:31Oh, I've seen the Titans.
02:33Like clockwork orange, I've seen the Titans.
02:36Yeah.
02:36Yeah.
02:37So like, you know, I don't know.
02:40The question is, can this keep going?
02:43I think the general answer is why not?
02:45And then to go as deep as you can without having a four-hour discussion in a circle.
02:51Every week the defense shows up.
02:52And every time the defense plays a bad quarterback, they got a chance.
02:56Well, the schedule's full of bad quarterbacks.
02:57And the Browns have a bad quarterback who tunes into a good quarterback in the fourth quarter.
03:01So why not?
03:03Well, about that bad quarterback.
03:04See, I don't think Tyler Huntley's that bad, though.
03:06I respect him.
03:07He's not Lamar Jackson, for crying out loud.
03:09Yeah, but there was a point in that game when it was like, put it this way.
03:13I was getting ready to tweet, pay Tyler Huntley $231 million if he makes one more play.
03:17Well, he never made one more play.
03:20He was closing his eyes and hoping on some of those throws.
03:24Yeah.
03:24I mean, there was a couple times that Zay Flowers was open over the middle and he didn't hit them.
03:27They needed to make one more play.
03:29And I know in Baltimore they're mad about not going forward on fourth down,
03:32but I think you have to turn it over to your defense at that point, right?
03:35And just get to overtime and then hope that you can finally get something going with Derrick Henry.
03:39And I know they're mad about the call, but I'll tell you this about the call.
03:42Like, the guy who was on did not argue one bit.
03:45He knew it.
03:45He grabbed the jersey and he knew it.
03:46It was the right call.
03:47And the Browns weren't first and goal and they scored.
03:50And because their defense was so good, that was enough.
03:52All right.
03:53We have been looking at a lot of the all 22 in the first three quarters.
03:57Because on the broadcast, I know you're at the games.
03:59You're not hearing Daryl Moose Johnson.
04:01But he was going on and on about receivers not getting open.
04:03And earlier in the year, it was Watson not seeing receivers.
04:07And yeah, there seemed to be a little bit of everything when Munkin diagnosed it over the last 48 hours,
04:13two different media availabilities.
04:15But was that kind of a welcome to the NFL moment for some young wide receivers?
04:21Or do you think Watson truly was just not seeing anything?
04:24Well, I think that the Ravens had a good plan.
04:27You know, I think they obviously were really good on defense.
04:31And they were different than what the Browns had seen in recent weeks.
04:34I think with Denzel Boston's success, that, you know, teams are shifting towards him.
04:38And that happened way earlier than I thought.
04:40That's a compliment.
04:41That's a sign of progress.
04:42But in all of these years, Munkin finally used the word progressions yesterday, right?
04:47I don't think I've ever heard a coach say it.
04:49They talk around it.
04:50He's like, he's got to get through his progressions.
04:52And he does.
04:54So this has been a bad offense that suddenly comes alive.
04:59And in credit to Judy and to Watson, because of the big play, the only play of more than 20
05:05yards all day long.
05:07Right?
05:07It's a good throw.
05:08It's a good read.
05:09It's on the money.
05:10It's where it's got to be.
05:11Like, that happens.
05:13All those things that you need.
05:14So I think it's 31 possessions they've had since halftime in Pittsburgh game.
05:19And they've punted 17 times and scored on two.
05:21And both those two have been in the fourth quarter.
05:24Well, I'm hearing a lot of questions about sustainability.
05:27And I think you kind of just answered it.
05:29Like, they play a lot of bad quarterbacks.
05:30And I know Deshaun Watson isn't one of the best quarterbacks.
05:34But if they can stay around in the fourth quarter, like, yeah.
05:37So are you telling me they really do have a chance to be a wild card team?
05:40Yes.
05:43Well, I think the next two weeks are going to tell.
05:45Right?
05:46Because they have to show maturity and ability to go on the road.
05:50Be a bad football team.
05:51Yeah.
05:52Really three weeks.
05:53Because three weeks in a row on the road, it's rare.
05:55And it's hard.
05:56The results, historically, are bad.
05:59But you have a team you absolutely can and should beat.
06:02And then you go to Pittsburgh, where you haven't won a regular season game in 23 years.
06:06And everybody knows that.
06:07But the Browns match up really well with Pittsburgh.
06:10The defense is exactly what Aaron Rodgers doesn't want to play against.
06:14We saw that a few weeks ago.
06:16And in the exact opposite of last year, when the Browns tried to build and Gabriel over there.
06:20And we're awful, but we're still in the game for three quarters.
06:24Pittsburgh's coming home from Europe.
06:25It's the exact time to play Pittsburgh.
06:28So, like, you know.
06:30And again, even at 6-2, are they in the playoffs?
06:32No.
06:32But, like, why couldn't they keep winning with the way this defense is playing?
06:38Well, that turns me to a question about this offense and the struggles they're having.
06:43They did have some okay running plays last week with no Judkins.
06:47But still, a lot of the same.
06:49Also seemed to telegraph a little bit.
06:51But is Watson at least playing better than he had, you know, pre-injuries with the Browns?
06:58And that he can at least come up with a fourth quarter?
07:01Like, I don't even remember him oftentimes being able to do that that often other than that one Baltimore game.
07:06He is awful with a capital A, and he's playing better than he did his first three seasons here outside
07:10of three games.
07:12Yeah, he is.
07:13So, they're doing some things.
07:16Now, they had the ball five times in the first half, and they punted five times.
07:20It looked hopeless, and it probably was if Tyler Lute makes that field goal or if that Schlesinger doesn't force
07:26that fumble.
07:27But those things happen.
07:27They've stayed in.
07:28So, there is some progress.
07:30And honestly, I mean this.
07:32Like, there's nowhere to go but up in some areas.
07:35And I really think between the Ravens offense going bad and the way they defended, I think the Ravens pass
07:40rush ran themselves out of energy on Sunday.
07:43So, you know, the Jets game was as bad as can be, and when it did get to the last
07:47two drives, I didn't have any faith.
07:49But I also didn't have faith on the one they actually scored on.
07:51So, like, everything they're doing is in the fourth quarter.
07:54So, they're doing something.
07:56And they have a chance on some plays.
07:58So, like, it's wild, but the schedule's favorable, and they could be in the fight.
08:07They could be.
08:08You know, the overall health is actually pretty good when you look around the league.
08:13And a totally remade offensive line.
08:15I think what's most concerning to me, other than the awful, awful quarterback play overall, is that I thought the
08:23Pittsburgh game was an offensive breakthrough, right?
08:25Like, they scored on three straight possessions.
08:27It was the best game the offensive line had played.
08:29The running game showed life.
08:31And they were awful then in New York.
08:33And I thought, okay, well, against the Ravens, they're going to find out.
08:36Are they going to get some things cleaned up, or is this just the offense?
08:39Well, the offense was really bad.
08:41So, maybe it's just the offense.
08:42So, is that sustainable?
08:44I don't know.
08:45Is the plane going to crash in three games or two months?
08:49I don't know.
08:50But for two years, the plane has been laying in the ditch next to the runway.
08:54So, we'll see.
08:56There can be winners and losers when a coaching change happens.
09:01And Harold Fannin right now, for whatever reason, is not nearly as productive as he was in his rookie year.
09:08And we saw a tight end screen that got totally sniffed out by the Ravens on Sunday.
09:15And Watson just threw the ball in the dirt.
09:17What is going on with Harold Fannin?
09:19How can they get him involved?
09:20Well, one of the challenges they have, and this is not Watson's fault, is they're just short on personnel.
09:27They basically have three different personnel groups.
09:29They don't have any tight ends other than Harold Fannin.
09:32And so, instead of Harold Fannin being utilized like the weapon that he can be and moving all around and
09:39getting design touches, he has to block on so many plays because they just don't have guys.
09:43So, they have – the fullback played 10 plays.
09:46So, they have that personnel group.
09:48They have the three wide when Judy actually comes in or one of the other guys mixes in.
09:53And then they have the two tight ends that everybody in the league is running, you know, 12 and 13
09:58personnel.
09:59But the Browns only have two, and Harold Fannin's not – I mean, he's a great player, but he's not
10:04a true tight end.
10:05And the other guy that's out there is probably not a true NFL player.
10:08So, it's just a tough spot.
10:10And, like, the Ravens sniff that screen out because they're really good and they knew that it was coming and
10:14they knew the Browns want to get the ball to Harold Fannin.
10:17They just can't right now.
10:18So, that is one thing that I don't think is a Watson thing because going back to the summer and
10:24the times that there have been completions and the few times that he's actually looked good,
10:29Harold Fannin has been heavily involved in that.
10:31If this team approaches the playoffs, what do we do with Deshaun Watson long term?
10:35Yeah, I mean, it's too early.
10:37I mean, this level of play says that, you know, you would not be committing to him long term.
10:43But this level of play also says that he has no other options.
10:46And if you accidentally win 11 games, then, you know, maybe.
10:51So, I don't know.
10:52I would just be excited about the roster in most places.
10:57Obviously, running back and quarterback being a concern.
11:00And, you know, the last two times they went on a quarterback search, they brought home Dylan Gabriel and Deshaun
11:04Watson.
11:04So, that's a concern.
11:05But if they're going to have eight wins in December, then we got the offseason to argue about that, right?
11:12What is the position and type of player that, if they are still hanging around and in the catbird seat
11:21for making a wild card or even more, that Andrew Barry would look to to be aggressive?
11:26Well, the obvious one would be defensive line in terms of just, you know, getting a designated rusher for teams
11:34to play ahead.
11:34Although, the Browns don't play from ahead very often.
11:38But, if the defensive tackle woes continue, then that's an obvious one, too, because you're just always looking for depth
11:44in especially the way the Browns play.
11:45You know, they're really good on defense when they have their defensive tackles.
11:49But the other one is tight end.
11:51Find somebody that can be a functional blocking tight end and give you some snaps and allow you to do
11:57some more things with standards.
11:58So, those are the obvious ones.
12:00I think any actual trade, you know, short of them winning two of the next three is probably more of
12:05a necessity thing.
12:06And I think that's the only way that Gabriel or Judy gets traded is if you just get into a
12:10necessity spot and some team needs to make you a one-for-one.
12:13But, absolutely, like, if they're in the mix, I think they're looking at veteran pass rushers.
12:18And I think they have to be looking at defensive tackle help unless, you know, both these guys get back
12:23healthy this week and stay healthy.
12:26So, yeah, I think you have to operate in the right now in some way.
12:31And that doesn't mean trade the farm just to make the wild card.
12:35But I think you have to look and say, hey, we're pretty good at some spots, pretty flawed in others,
12:41as a lot of teams are.
12:43And if there is a guy here, like, they have draft picks and flexibility.
12:48You know, it might not be a rental.
12:50It might, for them to actually pull the trigger on a significant trade, it might have to be a guy
12:54who's under contract for multiple years.
12:57But, like, if it gets to the point and there's a lot of bad teams that they're giving them away
13:02for third-day picks on the day before the trade deadline,
13:06heck, yeah, the Browns should be involved in that.
13:08So, we could still have four QBs?
13:13Yeah, he's got eight days from now until he has to be, a move has to be made.
13:18So, that is interesting.
13:22You know, Tylan Wallace did not go on IR.
13:25Obviously, Mason Graham and Mike Hall have not gone on IR.
13:28They had to shuffle at running back.
13:30But the last two weeks, they've just brought up the defensive tackles who needed them.
13:33They have not had any movement.
13:35You know, the other defensive tackle, Clea Davis, came back to practice for one day.
13:39And that was that.
13:40So, that is an interesting one.
13:43They've stashed him in the last two weeks, I would imagine.
13:46They probably could stash him again.
13:47And then, next Tuesday, you have to make the move.
13:51So, I think it just totally depends on health and availability.
13:55And, I mean, I suppose he could get moved.
13:58But, to me, it's the same as it was in May or it was in August.
14:04Like, yes, the Browns would trade Dylan Gabriel.
14:06No, his future is probably not here.
14:08However, what someone would give for him is not what they're willing to give up.
14:12And, like, you just don't know how this is going to go, especially when you look around the league.
14:16So, right now, how it's going.
14:18So, that's an interesting one we haven't really talked about.
14:21All right, Zach.
14:22We're out of time.
14:23So, maybe next time or maybe you'll do a podcast.
14:25Are you going to be covering the potential state Supreme Court case against the Maslin players, the two brothers?
14:31Zach, thank you very much for your time.
14:34I hate this because Maslin McKinley, especially in the even years, it's a spectacle.
14:40It is the Super Bowl of people watching.
14:42So, unfortunately, I'll be in Nashville.
14:43And then Akron Kent, right?
14:46Like, you're struggling for relevance in any way.
14:48And you want to play this game and you want people to come to the game.
14:52And you schedule the opposite Maslin McKinley.
14:55Oh, boy.
14:56So, I hate being gone this weekend.
14:58Yeah, I'll talk about the Maslin thing on the podcast.
15:01I was going to take my son and I can't.
15:02The youth season is still going on somehow.
15:05We're on week 15.
15:05Oh, God.
15:07Zach, it's interminable.
15:10Interminable.
15:11It just keeps going.
15:12It doesn't end.
15:14Football starts and then it just doesn't end.
15:15Do they charge for parking there?
15:17No.
15:20Well, it sucks because you know what I'm going to be accused of, right?
15:23Because I took him last year and I go, oh, he's going to go to the games there at McKinley.
15:28Interesting.
15:29I mean, it is so awesome to be there and just watch the thing.
15:34It really is.
15:35I said I'm going to take him to a Maslin playoff game.
15:37He's got to see the sights.
15:39That tailgate lot's incredible.
15:41It really is.
15:43It truly is.
15:44Yeah.
15:45All right.
15:45Can I get you to go with us?
15:48Oh, I would love to go to a Maslin playoff game.
15:50Yes.
15:50A hundred percent.
15:51I'm calling Zach.
15:52Zach.
15:53Axel's going to meet his uncle, Zach.
15:54It's going to be great.
15:55All right.
15:55He's actually met him before.
15:57Zach, thank you very much for the time.
15:58All right, guys.
15:59Zach Jackson, the athletic.
16:01On the Wise Heart Right, we make it right, called Kyle Wright Hotline.
16:04You said you had a joke.
16:05I'm like, where is it going?
16:06Because I thought it was going about a certain quarterback.
16:08I'm like, here we go.
16:09But you didn't do it.
16:10Well done.
16:11Well done.
16:12And watch Zach's social media videos.
16:14They're great.
16:15Staring into the camera.
16:16So good.
16:18All right.
16:18Coming up in five minutes.
16:19I know that someday we're going to have to break down how they win.
16:23Guys, we are far, far, far, far away from that.
16:28You heard that with Zach's interview just moments ago.
16:32Ken Carman, Anthony Lima.
16:33The Neutral Zone with Rat Boy and the Hog at 841 on the face.
