00:00Hello and welcome and a very happy Dushaira to all our viewers.
00:04I'm Sonal Merotra Kapoor and you're watching India Today.
00:06It might be Dushaira and festival outside, but there's enough making news in India and across the globe.
00:12So let's quickly take you through that.
00:13Number one on the program today, we'll be talking about Marco Rubio's visit.
00:17He's saying namaste and he's saying that in the run-up to the global leaders meeting that will happen in
00:25December
00:26where Prime Minister Modi will be going.
00:28Remember, these are strained relationships between US and India.
00:32So what exactly will this entire visit mend and what are the key priorities?
00:38Can they be mended at all? That's also a question at the moment.
00:42We'll take you through all of that.
00:43Second up on the story and on the bulletin today, we've got the toxic air.
00:48Well, it's Dushaira and as much as we love festivities and we love burning the effigy,
00:53we have to see the cost it bears on our health.
00:57Delhi government now has come out with an winter action plan.
01:01What exactly is this plan?
01:02What is it that you can do and what are the questions you can ask your government as well?
01:07We'll take you through all of that.
01:09And then there are comments that have come from the RSS chief talking about his take on regime change.
01:18He has interestingly said that there should be questioning, but the form is what has got a lot of chatter
01:26online coming in.
01:27So we'll take you through all of that.
01:29First up, as always, let's go through the headlines.
01:34Dosti diplomacy and deal on the agenda as U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio meets external affairs minister S
01:41.J. Shankar in Mumbai.
01:43Trump's top aide hails India, says trade deal to be inked very soon.
01:55Amit Shah makes Chitta the biggest election issue in poll-bound Punjab meets families of anti-drug crusaders who were
02:04killed fighting the menace.
02:06CM Bhagawan Tman hits back, claims BJP states for Chitta troubles.
02:17Three attackers who targeted actor Tiger Shroff taken to Mumbai from Kota by Mumbai police in heavy security cover.
02:25Shooters likely to reach Mumbai around 2 a.m. and there will be questioning after.
02:39PM Modi to attend the shahra at the IP extension.
02:45RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat speaks on regime change.
02:48Rao, during the shahra address, says foreign evil forces were at play to enforce regime change in India.
02:55It creates that such a nefarious plot won't succeed.
03:20Prime Minister Modi to attend the shahra at the IP extension in East Delhi will witness Ravan Dehen.
03:26Cockroach effigy also to be burned at Delhi's Ram Deela event this evening.
03:39Sonu Nikam issues unconditional apology to the people of Karnataka, head of Bengaluru concert for remarks.
03:45Comparing demands of Kannada song to the Pahalkam terror attack.
03:53When you love someone and you want the relationship to stay, you don't mind saying sorry a thousand times.
03:59So my dear family, if anything I have said inadvertently that has hurt you, I am so thankful.
04:14All right, cutting across straightaway to some updates coming in.
04:17This is U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio who is meeting the External Affairs Minister Jai Shankar as we
04:23speak.
04:23The meeting between the External Affairs Minister and Marco Rubio is underway in Mumbai and it's been over 30 minutes
04:29or so.
04:30Marco Rubio has asserted that trade deal with India is possible very soon.
04:35Well, we've heard that before. Let's see how soon that can really happen.
04:38He's also said that India is a strong strategic partner.
04:40Saying good news on trade deal very soon, reiterating that.
04:45And then earlier, remember, Rubio had paid tribute to the 26-11 victims as well.
04:51Now, just a little bit of background on the story.
04:55Marco Rubio is meeting Jai Shankar in Mumbai this afternoon.
04:58It started at around 4 o'clock as well.
05:02And he's not coming to the national capital.
05:05This will be a meeting strategically done in Mumbai, keeping business interest in mind.
05:10But there's a lot more riding on this meeting as this comes in the run-up to the G20 as
05:14well.
05:15We'll take you through all of that. First up, listen to what he said.
05:20This is the most populous country in the world. It's the largest democracy in the world.
05:24It's an important commercial partner and business partner in the United States.
05:27We also do a lot of defense cooperation. They're a key member of the Quad.
05:31They're a strong strategic partner.
05:33So I actually don't think we've come enough.
05:35And I think we need to have more.
05:36And we have. We've had the commerce secretary who's been here, right?
05:39We've had the FBI director, the vice president's come, the attorney general.
05:44So this is a very important partner for us.
05:46As far as the trade agreement is concerned, obviously the State Department doesn't negotiate trade agreements.
05:50But we are very much involved in what's happening.
05:53In my perch as national security advisor, we care a lot about it.
05:56We're very, very close.
05:56I would say we're about as close as you can be without having an executed agreement.
06:00I think there's a small number of items left to wrap up.
06:03So I think that will happen shortly.
06:05We're hoping, which it should.
06:07And hopefully have some good news to announce fairly soon.
06:09And perhaps the leaders can sign it thereafter.
06:12So we feel very optimistic that.
06:16So as we speak, that meeting is underway.
06:19But remember, the backdrop is one of friction over visa restriction.
06:23It's about tariff threats.
06:25And the visit is also framed as a repair work, right?
06:29The officially stated agenda covers energy, trade, investment, defense, critical and emerging technologies as well.
06:35But many are saying this is setting up the tone as Prime Minister Modi is expected to make a trip
06:41to the US for the G20 summit in December.
06:45Gaurav Salvatna joins us for the very latest on the story.
06:48Gaurav, important context under which the meeting has been set up on a day like the Shaira.
06:53The government is on an overdrive to make men's with the US at this point.
06:59There are some ticking points here.
07:00Would you say that meetings like these are sort of setting up the framework to what the agreements finally will
07:08be when the leaders meet?
07:10Well, this indeed is a very important visit.
07:12And the fact that this is Markov's visit to India.
07:15Gaurav, just hold on.
07:16Amit Shah is speaking.
07:17Home Minister Amit Shah is speaking.
07:19Let's just take a look at that.
11:30that you have three months
11:32and you have to sit in Punjab
11:39and sit in Punjab.
11:41Five years ago,
11:45the labor is growing up here.
11:48Here you have to get the soldiers.
11:50You have to get the soldiers.
11:51You have to get the soldiers.
11:54You have to get the soldiers.
11:55You have to get the soldiers.

19:51All right, that was Home Minister Amit Shah in Punjab
19:55who spent his day earlier meeting with some victims of drug addiction as well
20:01but while we listen to the BJP, let's also take a look at how the Amadhi Party government has responded
20:07this was Amit Shah of course that you heard Home Minister Amit Shah there
20:10attacking the Amadhi Party government over the drug menace in the state
20:14but the Chief Minister Bhagawan Taman has hit back
20:16claiming that BJP rule states are to be blamed for the problem
20:20according to him, chitta or drugs actually are infiltrating from the BJP rule states
20:27take a look
21:10all right, moving on to the national capital now
21:13it's the time of the year. The festive lights are up, winter chill is beginning to set in
21:18and Delhi's familiar pollution nightmare is knocking on the door. After a brief spell of
21:24relief, the national capital is once again witnessing a spike in pollution levels. As per
21:28AQI.in, Delhi's pollution levels peaked at 216 in the morning hours today, which falls in the
21:35poor category. And the trend over the past five days has also been concerning. Delhi's peak AQI
21:42stood at 177 on October 16th, before jumping to 216 on 17th of October, 189 on the 18th of October,
21:53191 back there on the 19th as well. And once again today touched 216 and remember this is right
22:00before the effigies have been burned. But this is not just about numbers on the screen, it is about
22:06the air that millions of Delhiites breathe every single day. It's about children going to school,
22:13it's about commuters spending hours on the road, senior citizens stepping out of their morning
22:18walks and also people with respiratory conditions already showing signs of concerns, who are
22:24particularly vulnerable and landing up in hospital. And with the worst of the winter still ahead of us,
22:30the Delhi government has now unveiled today its pollution plan. They're calling it the winter
22:36pollution plan. Now what exactly is that? The winter pollution plan will be enforced from the 1st of
22:41November to the 28th of February with a series of measures targeting vehicular emissions, construction
22:47dust and also traffic congestion. First, the government is tightening the enforcement of the
22:53no PUC, no fuel rule. Vehicles without valid pollution under control certificates will not
23:00be allowed to refuel at petrol pumps. Number two, under the winter pollution plan,
23:07non-BS6 vehicles registered outside of Delhi will face an entry ban with specified exemptions given to
23:15some. Number three, the government plans to deploy AI-powered cameras to monitor construction activity
23:22and identify dust control violations. Delhi government, in fact, has just unveiled an entire pollution
23:28control system and a monitoring system which is AI-powered at the DBCC headquarters, which is monitoring
23:35with live cameras if burning takes place. Number four in the plan is the plan places emphasis on 50%
23:43of
23:43work from home for government and private offices aimed at reducing daily commuters traffic.
23:49Remember, it starts from the 1st of November. And fifth, the government wants to strengthen public
23:55transport by promoting buses. The Delhi metro and last-mile connectivity encourage more commuters
24:00to leave their private vehicles behind. The objective, we all know, is to curb emissions at their source,
24:07reduce congestion and prevent pollution from building up as the winter sets in.
24:13Listen in to what the Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said.
24:18Let's talk about the 1st of November.
24:19From the 1st of November, the 28th of February, we have made a whole winter action plan in Delhi.
24:27We will not allow in the 1st of November to 1st of November, BS6 to below the vehicle to allow
24:32us.
24:32We will not do the same. The government has EV buses, the metro's route, increased the route,
24:38the last-mile connectivity, we work on the last-mile. We can also go to the front circle,
24:44construction, demolition, demolition, construction, construction, 50% work from home,
24:52whether the government sector or private sector will enforce the government sector.
24:56The office will also scatter the timing of the traffic, so that the roads will reduce traffic.
25:02All right. So, Shant, Mehra, my colleague joins us for more details on this story.
25:06So, Shant, abhi to Ravan Dehen shruu bhi nahi hua hai.
25:10Doosso ke oopar number already ja chuka hai.
25:12Aap eek petrol pump pe khađe hai hai,
25:14to aap kya hume e quick check dhe sakte hai ki logo ko kya is winter action plan ke baare
25:19mein sari jankari hai.
26:16Consection ke work per rok laga dhi hai,
26:18Iske alawah dust ko lekar ke tamam joh paabandiyah rhengi.
26:21Iske alawah sarkari dhftar ho me 50% work from home
26:24Or private jitne bhi institutions hain,
26:26Unke liye sarkar un institutions se apeel karegi
26:29Ki woh bhi aapne offices ke inder timings joh hai,
26:31Woh lagbag 50% ke aaspas joh hai woh work load hai woh 50% ke aaspas kare.
26:36Yarni 50% work from home, 50% office.
26:41Jisse pollution ka sthar bhi joh hai woh kam hooga.
26:44Iske alawah last mile connectivity yarni ki nareila,
26:48Bawana jhaan se loog apni gaadiyo se travel kar kar kar ke
26:51Dillii, Central Dillii ke aaspas ke ilaqo me paushti hai,
26:54Woh traffic bhi dillii ke inder na aai,
26:56Usko lekar ke buses ki sewa joh hai woh sarkar shuru karaygi,
27:00Taki loog buse ka travel joh hai woh karay,
27:08Usko roka jahe PM 2.5 PM 10.5,
27:12Pollution me dust ka control jis tariqe se barhta,
27:14Usko bhi roka na sarkar kar ke liye
27:18Offices ki baat kari, government offices bhi,
27:21Or private offices per bhi 50% work from home bola hai,
27:23Par schools ka koji mention nahi hai,
27:26Beech peen ye baachit ho rhi thi ki,
27:28Dillii me schools ke joh summer vacation
27:30Or winter vacation ke timings hai,
27:32Usko thoda change kar diya jai,
27:34Kyoki itna zahada pollution vacation ho jata hai,
27:37Ki winter me joh holidays hain,
27:39Uska number bada diya jai,
27:41Or summer me kam kar diya jai,
27:42Uspar koji jahnkari mil paai ya kiya?
27:48Dekhi abhi sarkar nne initial stage per joh joh paabandiyya lagahi hai,
27:51Voh saanye rakkiya,
27:52Agar pollution ka level bada ta hai,
27:53Tho sarkar is par vichar kar egi,
27:55Kyoki woh agla step sarkar joh hai,
27:57Voh košish kar egi ki,
27:58Ho saktta hai ki school ke timings joh hai,
28:00Voh change kar dhe,
28:01Online ki jangah,
28:02Offline ki jangah online classes joh hai,
28:05Voh school ko kiya jahe,
28:06Hybrid mode per classes joh hai,
28:07Voh shuru ki jahe gi,
28:08School ko sakt hidayat di jahe gi,
28:09Voh online joh hai,
28:17Nishe tawar pa chhoote bacho ko kafi jahada dhikkate hooti hai,
28:20Or aise me agar jab dhikkate hoongi,
28:22Tho unki classes bhi chhutengi,

29:03All right, Sushant,
29:05They're bringing us up to speed with that.
29:06Very happy Dashehra to you, Sushant.
29:08I hope you are carrying your N95 mask
29:10And ensure that if you go around the effigies,
29:12You're wearing one as well.
29:14Thanks so much for joining us.
29:16All right, and talking about Dashehra,
29:18It's the day that we celebrate the triumph of good over evil,
29:22Marked by burning of Ravan's effigy.
29:24But in Delhi this year,
29:26Ravan is not the only one going up in flames.
29:29A 30-foot tall cockroach effigy is set to burn
29:34Alongside Ravan, Kumkaran and Meghnath
29:37At the Shri Keshav Ramdeela committee celebration in Pitampura.
29:42The organizers say that the cockroach represents
29:44The filth and unhygienic conditions
29:46And that the move is aimed at promoting
29:49Swatcha Bharat and Swatcha Delhi campaign.
29:52But the timing, of course, has raised eyebrows
29:54Coming amidst intense protests by the Cockroachanda party.
29:58In fact, CJP founder Abhijeev Dipke has responded
30:01In his own style with the sarcastic message as well,
30:05Saying thank you for free publicity.
30:07The organizers, however, have denied any political motive behind it,
30:11Maintaining that the effigy is a symbol of fight against dirt and uncleanliness.
30:18Shriya Chatterjee joins us live from the location.
30:22Shriya, happy the shaira to you firstly.
30:24Oh, and you have a big cockroach behind you as I see over there.
30:28This has to be the very first.
30:30We've heard of innovative ways in which a Ramreela would be dressed up.
30:36We've heard of, you know, interesting effigies being made.
30:39But this has to be the very first.
30:41And I don't think, no matter what the organizers say about filth and cleanliness,
30:47It's got to have a political motive, right?
30:53Well, absolutely.
30:55You know, it is absolutely political.
30:57And happy the shaira to you and to the viewers of India today as well as I speak.
31:01You can see that cockroach effigy just behind me.
31:05It's 30 feet tall.
31:06And I've also been told that this was given extra security cover
31:10as the committee ensured that nothing untowards happened
31:14and no kind of people try to show up and create any kind of issue with the cockroach.
31:20So you can see the kind of police also on the ground
31:22because apart from the Ravan, the highlight this time is the cockroach.
31:27And the security of that cockroach also became very important, I'm told.
31:31So clearly we will be seeing an interesting visual
31:34as this cockroach is lit up at 7 p.m. today.
31:38And I spoke with Ashok Goel.
31:40He's the BJP MLA from the constituency and also the chairperson of this committee.
31:45He says it's to do with filth.
31:47We need to clear the dirt from our country.
31:49He's not giving a direct message.
31:51But as you rightly pointed it out, we cannot ignore the timing.
31:53We cannot ignore the political discourse in the country with the Cockroach Janata Party.
31:57And it's pretty clear that's exactly why we see that effigy outshining the Ravan today
32:03at this Ramlila ground.
32:05Shreya, when it came to Ravan, it was a bow and arrow that did the trick.
32:12I'm wondering what they'll be using to get down to the cockroach.
32:18Do you have any insight on what's going to happen?
32:23I did try to figure out, Sonal.
32:25You know, sir, I'm told that this is the dais on my right
32:29from where they will probably shoot an arrow.
32:32But if you see that cockroach effigy,
32:35a little bit of understanding is that because it's a banner,
32:38it's not really a hollow Ravan kind of a statue.
32:41So you can see the hay stacks that they have kept on the bottom of the cockroach.
32:46I'm being told that they'll be lighting the hay over there.
32:49And that's how the cockroach will be lighting up today at 7pm.
32:52So that's the tentative timing for this cockroach effigy burning.
32:56But interesting, yes, with the political message,
32:59how that will ring with the people, that's something we'll have to wait and watch for.
33:03As if now the committee members are only maintaining one line,
33:07no matter how many questions we put for them,
33:09they're saying that we just want to clean the filth,
33:11beat our homes or beat the country.
33:14So just for the benefit of our viewers, Shreyan, please expand on this.
33:17How these committees really work is,
33:20largely it's politically motivated, right?
33:23It's backed by one political party or the other.
33:25Back in the time when Congress was in power,
33:27we had Congress MLAs and MLCs sort of organizing it.
33:30Now it's the BJP in Delhi.
33:32So this is a BJP organized rally,
33:34where a CJP symbol is being burnt as an effigy
33:38and saying this is an evil that we want to get rid of.
33:44Well, absolutely, evil for their political benefit, absolutely.
33:48And that's exactly why the messaging fits for the BJP perfectly well.
33:51And as you said that how are these committees managed, you know,
33:54Sonal, we see it across the country that
33:56because festivals are community participation,
33:58more often than not the political party,
34:01the political leader of that area,
34:04they are usually involved in these committees,
34:07be it in Bengal where we see Durga Puja,
34:09where political people are involved in the members of the club.
34:13Here also the chairperson of the committee is Ashok Goel.
34:16He's a BJP MLA.
34:18So political, yes, but they try to keep it subtle with not making loud noises,
34:23but this 30 feet cockroach, Sonal, can't be hidden.
34:27And we can accept that this is definitely to do with CJP, no matter what they say.
34:32So the local BJP leaders there trying to score a brownie with their leaders,
34:37trying to talk about upping on who has the best arrangement.
34:41And this one has clearly taken the cake there,
34:44trying to fit in a political message there, Shreya.
34:46Happy Dasheira again to you.
34:48Enjoy that.
34:49Let us know what was actually used to get rid of that cockroach in there.
34:54So we will keep our eyes on it.
34:55Thanks so much for joining us.
35:04Alright, another big update coming in, in the Tiger Shroff attack case.
35:08Shooters wanted to target another celebrity from Bollywood is what we are hearing.
35:11Supposedly a very big name.
35:13But after reaching Mumbai, they could not pursue their target.
35:17Through fan posts and Instagram pages they have learnt
35:19that Tiger Shroff visiting Juhu football ground every Sunday
35:23and realised that he had very less security
35:25and hence decided to target him instead
35:28as he was moving freely within public
35:31and could be targeted easily.
35:34So Tiger Shroff not the first target we are told
35:36in the list of the shooters there and behind this entire scheme.
35:41Let's get in a word from our reporter.
35:43Devesh Singh joins us for more details on the story.
35:45Devesh, it makes sense because just yesterday
35:48you and I were speaking about it
35:49and he said that the mortis operandi has always been
35:51that at least when it comes to the Bishnoi gang
35:53they send in threatening messages
35:56or there are calls that are made for extraction.
36:00But none of that really happened in this case
36:03and people are wondering why Tiger Shroff really?
36:05It's now understandable but the idea was largely to create fear
36:10and when they couldn't get hold of the bigger stars perhaps
36:14or more veteran stars, they got this.
36:17Do we have names of these stars that have come?
36:21See this seems like a desperate attempt.
36:24They were sent to target a big personality from Bollywood
36:28but that personality citing some security reasons
36:32or some other reasons that he was better protected
36:35or he wasn't available or wasn't seen publicly so often.
36:41So he was not pursued.
36:43And Tiger Shroff because he was free, moving freely
36:46and he was making public appearances.
36:49He was visiting the football ground every Sunday
36:52and there were fan pages which put up videos of Tiger Shroff.
36:56There were paparazzi who put up images and videos of Tiger Shroff.
37:00And that is why, that is how they learnt that Tiger Shroff could be targeted
37:04and he was an easy target and that is why he was targeted.
37:08That is what is being learnt by the investigators.
37:10We have learnt from our sources that investigation teams
37:14have learnt this preliminary information from the shooters
37:18while investigating this case.
37:20The name of, yes, you asked about the name of the supposed target
37:24who was to be targeted initially is not known yet.
37:28That has not been revealed yet.
37:29But when the shooters are brought to Mumbai, when they are interrogated,
37:34surely we would find out what the target was, who the target was.
37:39It is up to the investigators.
37:40It's up to the Mumbai police whether they reveal it or not
37:43because it could also be a security threat.
37:46But once the accused are in custody,
37:51once they are brought to Mumbai, they are in transit right now.
37:53They have reached Gujarat and what we hear is
37:55they will be reaching Mumbai by night
37:58and then they will be produced in court tomorrow
38:01and then the custody will be sought where they will be interrogated
38:04to further find out.
38:06Divish, very quickly I want to find out.
38:08In the past several months,
38:10has Mumbai police reported of any extortion call
38:14received by any celebrity?
38:16Were they in the know about any celebrity?
38:19To be blunt, that Ranveer Singh did receive
38:22right messages from the Vishnui gang.
38:25Rohit Shetty's residence was fired at
38:28and there were threat messages sent to Aamir Khan as well.
38:33But for Aamir Khan, there was no police case registered.
38:37But the Vishnui gang themselves said that they had threatened Aamir Khan
38:42and they will be targeting Aamir Khan also.
38:46Regarding Ranveer Singh, they made a revelation
38:48and police also investigated the threat message to Ranveer Singh.
38:53So they have been sending threat messages, voice notes through VPN to several actors in the past as well.
39:01But there were no such messages sent to Tiger Shroff ever.
39:05Tiger Shroff was not threatened or targeted any time earlier.
39:09Or perhaps he did not speak about it.
39:11But now as we are hearing and we are putting two, you know, connecting two and two together,
39:15we figured out that he was not the initial target.
39:18They wanted to target somebody even bigger, a bigger Bollywood star.
39:23And because they could not get through this one, Tiger Shroff's entire itinerary was easily available on social media.
39:31Tells you about the, you know, how much we really put out details on social media all about.
39:36And then we have details now coming in that shooters then in a last minute desperate attempt decided to go
39:44for Tiger Shroff instead.
39:46Worrying, worrying details.
39:53Alright, moving on now.
39:55Regime change Rao is escalating.
39:57RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat says that it won't happen in India, but he blamed foreign forces and the West for
40:04it.
40:04Meanwhile, Sanjay Rao is warning about the Albania-like protests and the government looks determined to blunt the opposition momentum.
40:13What exactly is happening? What are both sides saying on the matter? Here's a special report.
40:28The showdown over anti-CEC protests is escalating.
40:33After some protestors listed regime change as their objective,
40:39RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat took on the raging controversy head on.
40:43At the RSS annual Vijay Dashmi event in Nagpur, Bhagwat vowed that regime change won't happen in India.
40:51The Sarsangh Chalak went further, claiming a nefarious plot by foreign forces to dismantle India's law and order.
40:58The West, he said, does not like a strong, rising Bharat.
41:03The era of BUandee, We hope so bad!
41:22The guerra aunks argued?
41:35The opposition is not backing down either.
41:40Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut added fuel with a cryptic tweet on Albania, where violent
41:46protests have entered the fifth day.
41:49Raut cited the burning down of Albania's Supreme Court and hinted that India must take lessons.
41:55His claim, Albanians were enraged because their Supreme Court protected corrupt leaders.
42:06The regime change debate started after All India Students Association President Neha
42:11Bora praised Bangladesh's Gen Z movement, which eventually led to former Prime Minister
42:17Sheikh Hasina's ouster.
42:18We present you our red salute and we know that the Gen Z movement that we are seeing everywhere
42:23in this country first started in Bangladesh.
42:27And congratulations to you for showing us the way, for showing us and extending solidarity
42:32to the young people of this country.
42:34Activist Prashan Bhushan went a step further and declared that the anti-SIR protests were
42:40indeed aimed at changing the regime.
42:52Bhagwat's remarks on regime change reveals the mood within the Sankh Paribar.
42:56They are in no mood to relent in the face of protests by CJP, student bodies and opposition
43:02parties.
43:04Bureau Report, India Today.
43:19All right, more updates coming in.
43:21CJP, the Cockroach Janta Party has moved to the Delhi High Court now for urgent night hearing,
43:27seeking release of Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ramka.
43:30CJP says that we have moved to Delhi High Court and requested an urgent night hearing.
43:34Saurabh and Ashutosh should not spend a single minute behind bars.
43:38Their liberty must not be curtailed because of political games.
43:42Justice must not wait.
43:44The context here is remember that Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ramka had gone exactly here
43:49to Jantar Mantar after it had been denotified.
43:52They had been put into, you know, preventive custody in a way or for, you know, failing to
43:58live up to their bond for five days.
44:01That got extended by two more days just yesterday.
44:04Anisha Mathur joins us for more details on this.
44:07Anisha, how practical or doable really is this night hearing by the Delhi High Court that
44:13the CJP is demanding?
44:15Well, we'll have to wait and see whether the High Court, what the response from the High
44:21Court is going to be because remember today is the Shehra Court, even the registry is closed.
44:26They have filed, they have e-filed the petition but we are still waiting for, they are still
44:32waiting for a response from the High Court.
44:35Also remember the High Court is closed for the Shehra vacation as well.
44:41So, we'll have to wait and see how this entire situation is going to develop over the next
44:47couple of days, whether they will get an urgent sharing or not in this situation.
44:54But remember, the petition that has been filed by Arshatosh, Ranka and Saurav Das has raised
45:02serious questions about the legal validity of the decision taken by the SEM just yesterday.
45:08They have argued that the SEM took a legally incorrect decision when it comes to the issue
45:17of sureties, they have also said that the extension of judicial custody was legally incorrect that
45:24the SEM could not have extended the judicial custody in the manner that was done.
45:31So, now the High Court is opening now on the 24th.
45:36So, we'll have to wait and see whether they will get any urgent hearing or will they have
45:41to wait till after the vacation end for the High Court at the moment.
45:48But what we can say, what we can tell our viewers is that they will be, they have challenged
45:54this.
45:54We'll have to wait and see.
45:56Alright, we'll have to wait and see how the Delhi High Court actually responds to this
46:00and whether or not an urgent hearing does take place.
46:02Interesting circumstances under which this two-day extension has also happened for the
46:06CJP.
46:06Apparently, there was some mismatch in photographs that really took place.
46:09So, a technical error there being cited is a reason why the extension has actually been
46:13given.
46:13We'll wait to see how that story unfolds.
46:21Alcohol, if it's so expensive, then in every song, every gazelle, in many years, in every picture
46:26the most glorified is alcohol, jam, maikhana, sake, you name it, shirabi, it's all been glorified.
46:37Is a little alcohol okay in life?
46:40Is no alcohol okay in life?
46:42Now, you as a cardiologist, knowing the realities that you know of the Indian heart, what do you
46:48think is okay?
46:49And as one who drinks occasional alcohol, I'm going to say, I don't drink, I don't drink,
46:54I don't drink, I don't drink, I don't think I don't drink, but let's talk science, let's talk reality.
47:02Okay, alcohol is not a benefit, but we must firstly address that.
47:06People say, we'll drink a little wine, it's healthy for the heart, HDL is less than that.
47:10That seems to be trashed.
47:11Trashed.
47:12Okay.
47:15Even a bit of alcohol is bad.
47:18And can you believe WH has put alcohol as a category one carcinogenin?
47:23Yes.
47:24And that's just mainly because there's a little increase in esophageal cancers, mouth cancers,
47:29colorectal cancers, whatever, there's a little increase.
47:31That's also with telling the community that alcohol is not good.
47:35Yeah.
47:35But let's be practical and that's true.
47:37A small quantity of alcohol is not bad for the heart.
47:41In India, I would define small as one small drink a week.
47:45What does excess alcohol intake do?
47:48Damages not just a heart, it damages a liver, it damages a kidney, it damages a pancreas.
47:55It puts on weight, unnecessary calories, damages a brain, damages a thought process, damages a society,
48:03damages social life, damages a family life.
48:06Destruction, destruction, destruction at every point.
48:09But you still think...
48:10Occasional one.
48:10Now some people say that if you want to drink socially, then they say that we're going to go to
48:13social.
48:13We're going to go to social.
48:15But I say, one or two drinks, small drinks, a week is not bad.
48:21You can actually spread it out.
48:22You can actually just have it at a time.
48:24But you go more than that.
48:26You're then damaging yourself as an Indian.
48:56By the way, binge drinking is bad.
48:58Restraint is when you're at home, you don't feel like reaching out for it.
49:05And if you're at that level, then occasionally you'll have enough people to sit with someone and less.
