After being delisted and effectively inaccessible for years, the legendary 'Playable Teaser' for Silent Hills, P.T., has been resurrected. A modder has created a native PC port so perfect that it caught the attention of Hideo Kojima himself.

00:00PT, the playable teaser meant to introduce the world to Hideo Kojima's Silent Hills,
00:04has been effectively inaccessible since Konami delisted it in 2015.
00:08But now, modder Lorianne Xavier has created a native PC port of the game,
00:12and even Kojima is taking notice.
00:14An article from GameRank covered the PC port of PT a few days ago,
00:17which was soon shared by Kojima himself, on both his English and Japanese X accounts even.
00:22Kojima constantly repost fan art and other community celebrations of his games,
00:26even though still owned by Konami,
00:27but it is unusual to see him acknowledge this kind of port on social media.
00:31The GOAT himself acknowledged my port, Lorianne Xavier says on X,
00:35adding that seeing Kojima notice something I've poured so much time and passion into
00:38genuinely means the world to me.
00:40While there have been plenty of attempts to port or remake PT over the years,
00:44this one seems to be the real deal.
00:46This is incredible, as noted dataminer Lance MacDonald explains.
00:50Unlike the previous decade of fan recreations of PT for PC,
00:53which always seem to miss important but minor details,
00:56this is, as far as I can tell, a one-to-one port of the entire code base.
01:00It creates all of the undocumented behaviour I know of perfectly.
01:03Given the rampant vibe coding that's been going on around the fan dev community,
01:07you might want to know whether AI was used here.
01:09I use AI for debugging when I get stuck, Lorianne Xavier says.
01:13This project is built on years of experience with PT and Fox Engine.
01:16I was making shag PS4, MogDB workarounds for the game long before this port.
01:21That knowledge makes reverse engineering easier.
01:23I'm not blindly vibe coding a PT port.
01:25Will you be playing this PT port?
