00:00Devi does not represent the woman, not at all.
00:02Just as Shiva does not represent the man.
00:04What does Devi represent?
00:06Devi represents Prakrti itself.
00:09Not one species, not one gender, not one place,
00:12but the entirety of the whole cosmos.
00:16In the books of Devi,
00:18it is not only human beings that are taken as sentient.
00:22Animals have a very prominent place.
00:24The trees, the forests.
00:26So Devi represents all of that.
00:27And that's what the scripture is written to warn against.
00:31Modern man's tendency to eat away at nature,
00:35to destroy nature, to subjugate nature,
00:38to dam the rivers, to clear the forests,
00:40to dig holes and mines and excavate and fossil fuels
00:44and release carbon dioxide into atmosphere
00:47and wipe out entire species and everything that is possible,
00:51we are destroying the nature.
00:52And that's the characteristic of the demons.
00:54If you mess with nature, there is no way you will be spared.
