00:00I thought the Giants making that decision to go with J.J. McCarthy is, like you said, I think we'll
00:07know quickly here with this.
00:10But it's not like people ran to the market there, started betting the Giants.
00:14I've actually seen that number increase now.
00:17Ten and a half, Greg, is what Houston is laying in that spot there.
00:22And, yeah, you know, this is going to be fun to see a team coming back from London who has
00:28not performed up to expectations, taking on, if I'm a Giants team, you got to feel good about what McCarthy
00:36came in and did in that fourth quarter, don't you?
00:38I mean, there's got to be somebody lit a fire, I think, in that locker room with those guys.
00:43Yeah, I thought he was fantastic, you know, in every sense of the word.
00:49I thought he made throws that were stunning watching the game.
00:53And I know that it was sort of garbage time, and I know that there was prevent defense.
00:59I do know that.
01:00But he was throwing a lot with guys around and was literally throwing the ball to the guy's hands, backdoor.
01:07And then the other thing that really struck me in watching that game, I think I was redzoning in, and
01:11then I eventually just said, you know what, let me watch this game for a minute, was –
01:15And this is something where sometimes I'll go outside the box a little in analysis.
01:21It seemed like Drew Brees was doing that game, Joe.
01:24It seemed like Drew Brees was shocked to see him play so well.
01:28Like, Drew Brees in the analysis were like – he was like, I don't know that I've seen this before.
01:33Like, he was like really giving him a lot of stature.
01:38And these guys tend to be a little bit, you know, Aikman in some of the analysis that go over
01:44the top.
01:44But Brees, you could kind of tell in his face, was like, this is something to watch here.
01:48And so I am – I'm very curious as to whether or not this becomes the trade of the NFL
01:53season, where you get a quarterback for a fifth-round pick.
01:58And by the way, McCarthy doesn't have to play like that if he just takes the Giants to the playoffs
02:02at 9 or 10 and 7 or 9 and 8.
02:06It becomes a situation where, Joe, they move from a fifth-round pick to a second-round pick maybe if
02:12a team is not sure.
02:13Because there's going to be teams next season that may not want to commit to any of these first-round
02:20quarterbacks, Joe.
02:21Like, a great example, not to use South Florida here, but look at the money Malik Willis got, right?
02:28Is it fair to say that J.J. McCarthy could end up with a Malik Willis contract just based on
02:33playing okay?
02:34I think so.
02:35What did Malik Willis really do in Green Bay to get that contract?
02:39Except for having a relationship with Halfley in Green Bay.
02:41The lack of quarterbacks in the – it doesn't make McCarthy great.
02:44It just says that the lack of backup quarterbacks in the NFL is there.
02:49And if he emerges, in a sense, to become one of the better backups or maybe the 27th best starting
02:56quarterback in the NFL, that's still worth a lot of money.
02:58Just ask Malik Willis.
03:00So I'm very curious to see how this plays out.
03:03Now, the oddsmakers, as you can see in this game, are telling us to slow the bleep down because this
03:09is a big, big line.
03:11Like, this is the line that is sucking me in this week.
03:15Take the Giants.
03:15Take the Giants.
03:16Take the Giants.
03:17Big upset at Houston.
03:20But why I can't do it, Joe?
03:21You know why?
03:22Who looks better than any team in the NFL right now?
03:25Maybe Houston.
03:26Houston looks so good the last couple of weeks.
03:28It looks like they've completely turned the corner now.
03:32And I don't want to really go against them.
03:35Like, I feel like that's a surging team right now.
03:37So I'll have to find a better play before the end of the week.
03:40But, man, it just seems like temptation is just to take the Giants this week for sure.
03:46Can't do it, though.
03:48Listen, that is the definition of flying back from London.
03:52The defense gave up another 30 points in that game.
03:57This defense is very head-scratching to me for the Texans.
04:01They are clearly not the same defense from a year ago.
04:04Or teams, you know, figured it out, which we've seen a lot, too, over the years.
04:10I think it's a great litmus test for both these teams.
04:13Let's see if they've really righted the ship.
04:15But if you want to talk about chances, who's got a bigger one than Tanner McGee right now?
04:21And the Eagles, it's not a two-week, three-week, four-week thing.
04:26It's Tanner McGee's team now.
04:27Is it not in the Eagles?
04:28He's a very full division here.
04:31So now you're going to figure out, for all those people that were screaming and yelling for this kid to
04:36play over Hurts,
04:37because we thought he was a better thrower.
04:39Like, the passing game would be better.
04:41Okay.
04:42You've got a chance to floor us this.
04:45I can't wait to see what he's got.
04:47Yeah, I didn't think that McGee blew anybody away, but I also didn't think he was that bad.
04:54Like, yes, your analysis was right.
04:56He should have been better.
04:57Yes, I agree with that.
04:58But the weapons weren't there.
05:00I'm not giving up on him, but I'm very excited, as you said, to see McCarthy play.
