00:00You look at Volkanovsky, and he really has put together one of the best careers ever in the UFC.
00:07He's been one of the most durable champions, and he's defended the belt a bunch of times.
00:15Super impressive career, and this would just be another massive win for him.
00:22And he keeps the championship, but he's dealing with a fighter that's never lost before as well.
00:27And despite Volkanovsky's pedigree, the fact of the matter is this fight is minus 110 for both fighters, Tom.
00:37Yeah, and I think there's a lot of value on Volkanovsky in this spot.
00:42Mofsar is a very good fighter.
00:44He's got pretty decent stand-up, better stand-up than you would think for a guy that is really known
00:49for his wrestling.
00:50But I just don't really see what he does to Volk in this matchup.
00:54I mean, we've seen this matchup with Islam, you know, a bigger guy who's now the welterweight champion.
00:59And Volk really held his own on the mat.
01:02Volk, you know, outside, you know, there was a second fight where Islam knocked him out with a head kick,
01:06but that was Volk coming off the couch, taking the fight on short notice.
01:10But when Volk is fully healthy, fully ready to go, and fights a strong grappler, he's not really threatened by
01:16the grappling.
01:17And I think he's got a big upside here in the striking.
01:20To me, he is one of the best fighters that we have ever seen, one of the most well-rounded
01:24fighters we've ever seen.
01:26And I think we're getting value here on Volk.
01:28So, I like Volk.
01:29I like him as a parlay piece.
01:31And, you know, just betting him straight up as well, I really feel strong that he's going to win this
01:35fight.
01:36Yeah, minus 110.
01:37It's, you know, rare you're going to get him at these type of odds.
01:41And he is one of the best, has one of the best takedown defenses as well.
01:47So, you know, that's the thing with Volk.
01:48He is just so well-rounded.
01:53Without being stated, the oddsmakers are expecting this to go the distance.
01:56The total is 4.5 minus 280 to the over.
02:01Yeah, I mean, I do expect it to go long.
02:03I mean, you know, obviously Mozart's never lost.
02:06And Volk is a guy that, if the finish is there, he will find it.
02:10He has finished some guys along his title run.
02:12But for the most part, he's a very smart fighter.
02:15He's very GSP-like in that aspect where he does what he has to do to win these fights.
02:21He's always entertaining.
02:23And when the fight is on the mat, if you go back and look at some of the transitions in
02:27the Islam fight, Volk is very slick on the ground.
02:32He's got very good sweeps.
02:34He knows how to, you know, defend himself from chokes.
02:37We've seen him in some very deep chokes in the past against very high-level jiu-jitsu guys.
02:43So, yeah, I do.
02:44I expect this fight to go long because Mozart is tough.
02:47And, you know, even if Volk is doing what I think he's going to do and controlling this fight, I
02:53can easily see it going all five rounds.
02:57I really look forward to seeing how this fight plays out.
03:01We're talking about most of our 20-0 guys, 10-0 in the UFC, 20-0, but he doesn't finish
03:07people, right?
03:09And that's always something that's just sort of lurking as well.
03:13He, you know, he has to win via decision, which kind of narrows your path to victory a little bit,
03:20at least what we've seen with his history before.
03:24Yeah, absolutely.
03:25And, you know, he has a great record, but he has fought on some tight margins along the way.
03:32I mean, he's had a couple fights against guys that, you know, not necessarily the highest-level guys where he's
03:38gone three rounds with.
03:39He's dropped a round.
03:40He's gotten cracked a couple times.
03:43Overall, I mean, he's shown that he's extremely durable, and he knows how to win fights, and that's really why
03:49he's been on this winning streak.
03:51But again, like I said, I mean, in this spot, like, what's he really going to do?
03:55Like, he's not really going to threaten Volk on the feet.
03:58I don't worry about him submitting Volk, and generally speaking, he doesn't submit anybody.
04:03He does go to a decision quite frequently.
04:07And, yeah, I mean, the matchup with Volk, it's just a tough matchup altogether.
04:13So, yeah, I mean, I feel like it goes long, but I feel like it is going to be pretty
04:18one-sided here.
04:20And it's funny because most far before was knocking people out, right?
04:25At M1 Global, he's murdering people in the first round and head kicks and stuff.
04:29But it's rare that you see this, especially in a day and age, too, where the UFC, you know, they
04:36just let a guy go who is 16-0 because he wasn't finishing fights.
04:40But, you know, when you're 10-0, you're 10-0, and you've beaten everybody.
04:44It is what it is.
04:46But, you know, it's fascinating to me that he really has gone to decision.
04:49And every UFC fight, guys, all 10 UFC fights, he has gone to decision.
