00:00Bob, you nailed it, man.
00:01I mean, no big markets, but I think we're going to get a hell of a World Series here.
00:06Yeah, it should be a great World Series.
00:08I mean, these two teams are almost mirror images of each other.
00:11So it should be very fun to watch, old school baseball, you know, run, hit and run, bump, steal.
00:17So, yeah, and both organizations have a lot of respect for each other.
00:22How did the Rays get here, in your opinion?
00:25How did they get here?
00:26How did the Rays get to the World Series?
00:29Well, it's amazing because they're kind of gearing up for next year, you know,
00:32with the trades of, you know, trading second baseman, Lau, trading away Shane Boz,
00:37and they're together.
00:40I was having a steakhouse here in Milwaukee two nights ago,
00:44and the entire Rays team came in for team dinner.
00:49You never see that.
00:50There might be 30 guys there.
00:53So they keep preaching togetherness and just a culture, and it sure paid off.
00:59Talk about that culture, Bob.
01:01You're starting to see people like, if I'm not mistaken, a lot of people that are in the
01:05Milwaukee organization were also in that Rays organization, and we're kind of seeing the
01:12old school like Moneyball and how things and how they're able to evaluate, how they're able
01:17to look at certain players, manage money, manage payroll here.
01:21I mean, you're kind of seeing a mirror of each other here in both these clubs, no?
01:26You really are.
01:27And, you know, in both teams, you know, they talk about analytics, but both teams have top
01:3310 scouting departments in baseball as far as size.
01:36Nobody has more pro scouts than the Tampa Bay Rays do.
01:40People talk about analytics, but a lot of scouts, too.
01:43So, yeah, they do things right.
01:45And I was joking with a couple of Rays yesterday.
01:47I said, can you imagine what your team would be like to add another $100 million to spend?
01:52And they said, it would be scary, even a lot scarier than they are now.
01:56Absolutely here.
01:58Bob, how did the Brewers get here?
01:59We talked about how the Rays got to the World Series.
02:01How did the Brewers get here?
02:04Well, this is our eighth trip and nine tries, our last nine years, four straight division
02:09titles.
02:10Same thing as the Brewers, just scout well, develop, draft great, and they kind of breed
02:16that clubhouse culture, too, that these guys get along, they make sure they're going to
02:20fit in.
02:21You better play the game right.
02:23I think five or six times this year, you know, Pat Murphy has benched or pulled a player
02:29out of a game for not hustling a first base, even their all-star catcher.
02:33William Contreras, you know, when they won their hardest game of the season.
02:38So they do things right there.
02:41So I got to say this here, man.
02:43So, you know, with all the things coming up with baseball and the baseball conversations
02:47on a potential work stoppage here, is this World Series good for baseball?
02:54I think it's great for baseball.
02:55I mean, people are so fired up in Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
03:01I mean, there's nosebleed tickets that are going for $3,000 just to get into the stadium.
03:07It's the highest price in baseball history.
03:11People are going nuts here.
03:12It's almost like, you know, the Packers and the Bucs winning championships combined.
03:17So it's been a long time, 44 years since they've been here.
03:21Never won one, just like Tampa.
03:23But this, yeah, this city is going crazy.
03:25I haven't seen anything like this in quite a while.
03:27It's cool when small markets, you know, finally get to the World Series.
03:32You know, you're talking for the fans now.
03:35How about the business of baseball?
03:37Is this series good for the business of baseball?
03:41Well, I'm not sure about that.
03:43I mean, probably going to have the lowest TV ratings of all time for a World Series,
03:46particularly if it doesn't go at least six or seven games.
03:50You know, you don't have the big stars.
03:52You know, Tampa Bay's got the two biggest stars.
03:57But otherwise, it's a lot of people, you know, people that don't know.
04:00So when people keep saying the Dodgers are bad for baseball,
04:03the Dodgers are very good for baseball.
04:05People like those juggernauts, just like the Yankees back in the day.
