00:00Game one of the World Series will take center stage here.
00:04Joe Ranieri alongside Craig Mish and Craig, the World Series, it's finally here.
00:09And from now till at the very end could be Halloween, the 31st here, if there is a game seven.
00:17But I'm looking very forward to this game.
00:20I find it interesting that the Brewers became a three true outcome team in the postseason
00:26after not being able to hit for power during the regular season.
00:30They either became a walk, a home run, or a strikeout team during the playoffs.
00:36Do you think that continues in this series against Tampa?
00:40Yeah, I don't think so.
00:42But some of the unsung guys have been hitting home runs for them.
00:47Bowers, Mitchell, I didn't see this at all.
00:50So it's hard to go against it and say that it can't happen.
00:53But I think that this goes back to the speed and defenses, which is what we saw from Milwaukee
00:58over the course of the season.
00:59I think we see that.
01:01And still, that's the way that Tampa's winning.
01:04So look, I suppose if you want to just ride what you've seen, then you just assume that
01:10the home runs lead the way in this.
01:12But I'm going to go the other way on this.
01:14And I do think that it goes back to a little small ball, gap to gap.
01:18And tonight will be a really good indicator of that, because Nick Martinez doesn't throw
01:24super hard, just tries to get the ball by you.
01:28Mizorowski has the highest four-seam fastball velo, 100.6.
01:32Junior Caminero has the fastest bat speed of anybody in baseball, 79.5.
01:36So that's interesting tonight that they're going to face off there.
01:39The other thing in tonight's game, when I was looking at the research packet today that
01:44I find interesting, and I don't know what we can do with this in terms of usage, but
01:51Nick Martinez, during the regular season, opponents were 13 of 16 against him, stealing bases.
02:01How is that possible that there's only 16 attempts on him?
02:03I'm not sure.
02:05But Jacob Mizorowski only had five stolen base attempts against him.
02:13I mean, that just goes to show you how difficult it is to steal on both of these guys.
02:17But you would give the advantage, I think, to Milwaukee in this matchup, because Martinez
02:22doesn't seem to hold runners on.
02:23And if you've noticed the way that Martinez is on the mound, he kind of moves his feet
02:27around a bunch before he actually throws the pitch.
02:29So just something to keep an eye on tonight.
02:33I think that's fascinating, to tell you the truth here.
02:37But again, I think it's, how much are we truly expecting out of these two starters?
02:42I think four innings.
02:44I mean, we've already, eight and a third is what we've gotten from Miz in the postseason.
02:48And, you know, I can remember the Padres.
02:52I mean, fouling off, what, 30, 35 of his pitches, right?
02:56And made him work there.
02:58And this is no different of a lineup, I think.
03:01You know, this Tampa Bay Rays team is a team that loves to foul off the tough pitches
03:06and then basically slap a base hit the opposite way when you hang one in the opposite way.
03:12I mean, that's what they are, Greg.
03:14It's kind of, it's crazy.
03:15So I don't think he's going six innings, seven innings here.
03:19You're never going to see a third time through the order for Martinez.
03:22And with two well-rested bullpens, how are we getting to seven runs in this game?
03:28Yeah, no, I don't see it.
03:30I don't see it.
03:32And I don't see it tomorrow either.
03:34But, you know, in St. Pete, it's been a little bit more conducive to some runs, as we've seen.
03:40The only thing that plays against that is that the Brewers against the Dodgers were just relentless offensively
03:45and just did things that they didn't do during the regular season.
03:50And we just don't know the answer.
03:52We don't know if that's just simply going to continue,
03:55which is why I got to ride the hot hand and take Milwaukee to win the World Series.
03:59It feels foolish to go against a team that just swept the Dodgers and won four in a row.
04:03But I also want to give the Rays credit and think back to toward the end of the season,
04:08if we had to predict who'd be the favorite in the World Series, we would have said Tampa Bay.
04:12I think we would have.
04:13But because Tampa Bay had to fight a little bit more to get here, maybe that's the reason why.
04:18But I just don't think that's fair.
04:19They have three home games coming up on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, if I'm not mistaken.
04:26And if Tampa Bay can hold serve and win all three of those games, then they could,
04:30even if they lose the first two games, they could go back to Milwaukee with a chance to win the
04:33World Series.
04:34But this is one of those cases where teams with home field advantage have gone on to win the title
04:4020 out of the last 30 times.
04:42That's 67%.
04:43How can I possibly go against those numbers going into the series?
04:47I can't do it.
04:50Six games?
04:52Seven games?
04:53What do you think here?
04:54I'll say six.
04:56I'll say six.
04:57Yeah, very similar to Cleveland-Tampa.
05:01I think that's how the series goes.
05:02Very similar to Cleveland-Tampa.
05:05Milwaukee gets off to a good start.
05:07Tampa Bay maybe wins game two.
05:09Tampa Bay maybe wins game three.
05:11Milwaukee four.
05:13Milwaukee five.
05:15Milwaukee six.
05:16You know, like, I don't think any team has crazy momentum here.
05:22And even with sweeping the Dodgers, I think the Rays are more formidable to fight Milwaukee than what the Dodgers
05:30were.
05:31I really do feel that.
05:32I really think they play great defense.
05:34I think their pitching will hold.
05:36I don't think they'll give up as many home runs.
05:38I think we will get a series.
05:40Seven seems long to me because that would mean Milwaukee probably has to lose two or three games in a
05:47row in this for this to go seven, I think.
05:49I think.
05:50I think.
05:50I think.
05:50I think.
05:50I think.
