00:00You mentioned Max earlier, could we go back to that game against Everton and that special moment?
00:05What was going through your mind?
00:08Just rewind to that spell, going through the pitch and the whole round on that field.
00:14Just talk about that.
00:16Just enjoy the energy and the joy and the smiles and the light that the stadium had in that moment.
00:25It was a unique moment.
00:28The way the action developed as well, we had time to see that coming.
00:34So you build that energy and the expectation grows, grows, grows and it was incredible.
00:41It was a beautiful moment.
00:43I think we really enjoyed it.
00:45And as I said many times, I think that moment is going to stay at the Emirates for a long
00:48time.
00:49And since then, this season obviously he's only had three appearances.
00:52Have you had to have that chat with him?
00:54And when did that happen?
00:56Or have you had a few chats with him?
00:58Because he's obviously a bit impatient because he played last season.
01:01How have you communicated that to him?
01:02Well, first of all, he needs to understand where he is and what we're going to take him.
01:10And I think that's clear.
01:11And that's not going to be a straight line up.
01:15Hopefully.
01:16Yes.
01:17But normally it's not like this.
01:19And he needs to be prepared for that.
01:20And in order to do that, but then to have those spikes up, when the spikes are down, you better
01:25be ready.
01:26Because you never know the moment that you're going to be needed.
01:28And then there is no time to say, no, but I like this.
01:31And that goes for every player.
01:33But he's in a good place.
01:34He's training really well when he had to play with us.
01:36And then in the 21s, it was exactly the same.
01:39The same with the national team.
01:40We know the play that we have.
01:42And we just need to give him the right chances in the right moments.
02:05I think his character, I think, is the enthusiasm and that.
02:13But, I don't know, when someone is like Watson, he's clean, you know.
02:17Because he's clean.
02:18Because he's just come in.
02:20Because he wants to create a story.
02:22Because he wants to build a career.
02:24That's why everybody wants to help him.
02:26And everybody is so close to him.
02:30He has earned that with the way he is, with the way he presents himself.
02:34And obviously, because I think everybody sees the talent.
02:38And we want to get that to the service of the team as quick as possible.
02:42Just picking up on Charlie's point about the Everton game last season.
02:46It was a real game changer.
02:48Do you see him evolving into having a much more...
02:54He's got the potential to be a more consistent provider for the team this season.
02:59He's got that in his locker to be a bit more regular.
03:03But he does.
03:04He needs more minutes to do that.
03:06Because to ask him to provide when you don't have a lot of minutes is very difficult.
03:11Probably unfair.
03:12But the moment that he starts to have more volumes of games and minutes,
03:17I think he's going to be able to do that.
03:19Because historically, that's what he's done.
03:21It's true that the step obviously is in another dimension.
03:25But he's more capable than that.
03:27Sam?
03:28You said that we can all see the talent.
03:31I think a lot of the fans look at it and say,
03:33we've seen Matt on the ball, let him play.
03:36But obviously there's so much more to the system and what he needs.
03:39Can you kind of give us an idea of how complicated it is for a 16-year-old to know
03:44when to press, how to press, who to press, set pieces, throw-ins,
03:48all that stuff that obviously he's not got baked into his system?
03:51But this is not an Arsenal.
03:53This is the level at every club.
03:56Unless, and I don't want to mention a club,
03:59you have three guys in the team that have scored over 100 goals.
04:03And then you can put one or two there and they can evolve
04:07and the nature of the games will develop them.
04:11Here it's different and the margins are much smaller.
04:15And he needs to be able to do that by understanding where he is as well.
04:20You know, and he's someone that really wants to learn
04:23and he really wants to do it.
04:25He just needs to have it.
04:26And a habit takes some time to do it.
04:29But certainly this is important.
04:32What we cannot take is the talent, the freedom and the capacity
04:35that he has to do the things that they are not on that piece of paper
04:39and the ones that you haven't described.
04:40Because he is unique at doing that.
04:42How much harder is it for a 16-year-old in the Premier League,
04:48do you think compared to France, Spain, Germany?
04:52Tell me how many 16-years-old have played in the last 100 years at this level.
04:58It's simple.
04:59So there isn't none, zero.
05:01There isn't a single player.
05:03So that's it.
05:04That's why he's unique.
05:05Otherwise it will be one of some.
05:07It isn't.
05:08It's not a case, another case like this.
05:10I guess Rooney was the only one.
05:12He was like mad.
05:13At 16?
05:14Yeah, he was like mad.
05:15A bit more, yeah.
05:16Anyway.
05:17But every three days I'm playing Champions League.
05:19I'm playing.
05:20It wasn't.
05:21So that's the level.
05:23But in Spain sometimes there are.
05:25Yeah, you see other countries as well.
05:27Yeah, there are.
05:28And hopefully there are more as well.
05:30And to make sure that the age as well, we don't stop them.
05:32Especially when they have that kind of talent.
05:50We're going to take personal relationship now with the players.
05:56I get you, I get you.
05:58I love Victor a lot as well.
06:00I love Kai.
06:01I love Victor a lot.
06:02But he's someone that has a very different character to Kai.
06:12But someone that you really feel really close to.
06:15I really like, again, another one.
06:17That he really made an impact when he came on the other day.
06:20He did the same when he had to play at the weekend against Forest in a different way.
06:24And that's what we need.
06:25Because we're going to need all of them.
06:26He knows that he's a very important player for the team.
06:30And he will get his chance.
06:31And then he needs to prove his point like we all do.
06:34A couple of days ago, David Raya, when he was interviewed by Spanish for France,
06:37he said that one day back to play in Spain at some point in his career.
06:41In terms of your future plans at Arsenal with David, is he very much a few seasons ahead?
06:46Or are you hoping to now think maybe he's a wider goal?
06:50I think David Raya has to play in Spain at some point.
06:53On the beach with his friends in the summer.
06:56But for the next few years he needs to play here for Arsenal.
07:00We've got the last couple.
07:02Ed first and then John.
07:04Hi, Michele.
07:05Just going back to Max.
07:06You were asking about him knocking your door down and wanting to play.
07:09But from your point of view, how difficult has it been to not give him more minutes?
07:14To Max?
07:15Yeah, considering how many players it is with Max.
07:18No difference to any other player is understandable.
07:21And that's why I don't know how many questions I already had on Max.
07:25Quite a few.
07:26That tells the story.
07:27You know, he's an important, huge player for us, for our future.
07:30And probably he deserves more.
07:32So I accept that.
07:34And just on the guy that we're learning, you haven't asked him as well.
07:38But he only had three weeks off after the World Cup and came back to pre-season very quickly.
07:43And you mentioned before, you know, it's been quite different in the last year.
07:46Are there any regrets about how quickly he came back after the World Cup?
07:50I mean, a bit more time off or anything like that?
07:52No, we can look at everything.
07:54I don't know.
07:56He gets injured very early in the game, which is very strange when we already handle him against Lille
08:04in an action that he never had an issue with.
08:07I don't know.
08:08You look at the Barcelona PSG, something that happened in the first half, unprecedented probably.
08:13So it's strange.
08:14We want to pick on something, we will find it, but we won't know whether it is for that or
08:19not.
08:20Maybe we need to load those tendons more during those three weeks.
08:24Because if you don't load the tendons, it becomes a problem.
08:28Who knows?
08:29I don't know.
08:29Okay, finally, Dom.
08:31Hello, Michel.
08:32With Pucayo, him getting injured not that long ago was more than a setback.
08:38It was a big, big blow.
08:40Now it seems that everything is set up for the team to carry on, as it did against Bayern Munich.
08:47You've got Nani and you've got Max.
08:50Is that proof of how this side has evolved and the way you want it to be?
08:55Well, we certainly want to have the right solutions and be equipped in the right way if this happens.
09:04Because with the amount of games that we have, things will happen, unfortunately.
09:10But now we need to respond and he's a top player for us.
09:13We know what he provides.
09:14We know that when he's been with us, available at his best, that he's one of the best players in
09:20the league,
09:20without a question of a doubt.
09:22And now he's not going to be with us for a few weeks.
09:25Thanks, everyone.
09:26Yeah.
