00:16Good afternoon. If you have a question, raise your hand and we'll try to come to the most of you.
00:20Who wants to kick off?
00:23Kick off with Nick from Leeds.
00:25It was a bit easier against Leeds last season. How did you do after that?
00:30We knew it was going to be really tough.
00:32We are coming from three weeks without 16 players after a heavy defeat and we had all these things in
00:39the tummy.
00:39And today we had two objectives.
00:41One, face the challenge because it's a team that hasn't lost in the Premier League and they're in a great
00:45position because they fully deserve it, as I said yesterday in the press conference.
00:49And secondly, because we had a point to prove something was touched in our identity against Brighton,
00:55especially in the manner that we reacted after being in a difficult situation, context.
01:01And today, even though we started extremely well and being really dominant, we didn't capitalize on the spaces, the situation,
01:08the overloads that we had to attack the goal and the box much better.
01:11So that left the game a little bit open and we knew that they don't need much to thread you
01:16every time they are putting the ball in the box.
01:18They are incredibly dangerous.
01:20And we got into a situation with one nil away from home after the defeat to a 30 kickoff.
01:26It is a bad mixture.
01:28And we got out of that through touching again and pinching our desire to win, to have a reaction, to
01:36show the personality and courage that we have in this team.
01:39And once the equalizer went in, the energy changed.
01:43The finishes came in and made a huge difference again to help us to win the game.
01:46And that's what we are made of and we know that it's going to be every single week the same
01:51because every game that I have watched in those three weeks,
01:53which has been a lot to understand what is happening in the league again, is not going to be any
01:58different to that.
01:59Just some words on Bruno.
02:00You had already leveled when you made your three changes.
02:03It's a fantastic goal.
02:04You might have expected to start the game.
02:06Miles has been...
02:08I think all the players that they were on the bench today expected to start because they've been doing so
02:14well as well for the national team.
02:15And that's what we have to manage.
02:17I have to manage.
02:18The reality as well is that he went to Australia, then to India.
02:22He's not still in the best condition because he hasn't had a pre-season.
02:26So we thought, OK, when the players that are more set are here, if we have to bring him in
02:30and change the game, do it.
02:32And we play again on Tuesday night and then on Sunday.
02:35So we know that it's going to be a lot of demands for everybody.
02:39So we better manage that well.
02:42How pleased are you with Noghi Madureki?
02:44He hasn't played too many times in that left wing for Arsenal, but he seems to have a really good
02:47game out there.
02:48We're really confident.
02:49Yeah, and I'm really happy with him because he deserves the chance that he got and he grabbed it with
02:54both hands.
02:55So when I haven't liked so much what he was doing or it wasn't impacting the game, I made certain
03:01decisions.
03:01He has accepted them.
03:03And what he's done is raise the level.
03:05And in training, he's been the best player in the last 10 days.
03:08And he gave me an option not to select him and not to play him today.
03:11And you could see that every time he was in and around the ball, he looked a threat.
03:16Alex, speak to the team.
03:17Hi, Michael.
03:18What do you take from that or how would you speak to the players about the mentality to get a
03:23win from a difficult position as champions or the issues that these caused you as well?
03:28Not that every time we put our shirts on, the last time that we put our shirts on, something was
03:32missing.
03:33And we need to be very conscious of that.
03:35From being exceptional and being the champions to being extremely average, like in that game, is a really thin line.
03:41So if you don't want it more than the opponent, you are not able to cope emotionally with certain situations,
03:47you're going to suffer.
03:50And we all suffered and we didn't enjoy one bit that game.
03:53But then you have to learn the lesson.
03:55And we certainly don't know, we speak about it and you could sense that there was something in those tomies.
04:01On Bruno, is that the value of signing someone who knows the Premier League for 28 years old?
04:06If he can come into a game like that, pop the bench and just adapt to it?
04:10Yeah, he's done it twice already, against Sunderland and against Leeds as well.
04:14And that's the quality that is needed at this level to continue to win.
04:19Is that an email?
04:20What we thought from the coming of it to Jokka, is he obviously had a great international period with Sweden.
04:25It seems to be trying to have a bit to play.
04:26It must be a difficult balance.
04:28How did you try and strike that balance and keep him happy to get the game?
04:32Because he will play games and he will have minutes.
04:34And the best way is when they enter the pitch, show how good they are.
04:37That's it.
04:38They've done it with the national teams.
04:40Mikel has scored two goals with the national team.
04:42And the sensation is he deserves to play as well.
04:46But as well, Martin has been an exception.
04:49And that's the situation.
04:50The best way is when they have the chance, prove it.
04:53And then everybody is going to be happy.
04:55Phil Pierre?
04:56Just on Bruno, you said he wasn't in great condition, and then he comes off the bench and does that.
05:06You sort of started the answer earlier, but it proves how worthy he was spending that money on a play
05:11like that.
05:11Yeah, but he wasn't at that level against Brighton, and this is the level for Arsenal.
05:15Every week, every game, every minute, every reaction, you have to be at that level.
05:20And at Brighton he wasn't, and today he was much better.
05:23And he can still be much better in the games that he's done.
05:25And that's what we have to demand.
05:27And this is what I demand to myself.
05:28I'm going to demand the same with the players.
05:30Because if we do that, it will raise the standards and we will be a better team.
05:34Okay, last couple.
05:34Art Athletic.
05:35Hi, Michael.
05:36You've spoken a few times this season about wanting to kind of raise the level after becoming champions to do
05:41it again.
05:42It seems like Declan Rice has done that in terms of his passing in the final third.
05:47I mean, three assists this season all from open play.
05:51Is that something that you really wanted to focus on with him coming in?
05:55Yes.
05:57How did you go about that?
05:58Yeah, I went to him and I said, and it's a private conversation, but you are not the lighthouse anymore.
06:03You are something else.
06:04At the end of the season I can tell you what is where I want to take him.
06:08But it's not the lighthouse anymore.
06:09It's something else.
06:10And he needs to prove that on the pitch.
06:13Okay, finally, for James, me as Kevin.
06:14I just asked you what the last three weeks are like for you.
06:17When you come into that international break, when it's that bad, that you have to wait so long to kind
06:23of correct it.
06:24How did you deal with that?
06:26The first few days, a week, not great.
06:32Especially because you question yourself.
06:34What you have done in that game to be able to witness a game that my eyes were in pain.
06:41And then have that, but try to learn from it.
06:43Because otherwise you are starting to blame things, and I got completely away from it.
06:48First of all, what I could have done better, what we lacked.
06:51There was a lot of factors.
06:53It was the fourth game away from home as well about this incredible schedule.
06:58And sometimes you play an opponent that on the day can be better than you.
07:01And it was better than us, especially in two very key things.
07:04And that's it, and swallow all that, keep a little bit on it, and try to learn and be better.
07:11Okay, thanks everyone.
