Israel’s election could reshape the country’s political future, with journalist Yaron Deckel outlining three possible scenarios ahead of election day. From a potential minority government to a national unity arrangement or another election, the outcome could determine Benjamin Netanyahu’s political future. With no clear majority emerging in the polls cited in the report, attention is on coalition negotiations and the battle for control of Israel’s 120-seat Knesset.

00:00Sir, going by the existing numbers, the polls, then there is no clear majority to any of the coalition.
00:07So if this number turns into reality, then there are three scenarios.
00:13If you can explain those scenarios to our viewers.
00:16There are three scenarios according to the polls when we see that each bloc doesn't get the majority of 61
00:22out of 120 members of the Israeli parliament.
00:26One, that nobody will be able to form a government.
00:29We had it in the past, and it means another round of elections in around four months, because the parliament
00:36cannot produce a stable government.
00:38The other scenario is a minority government, which seems to be right now likely by the opposition bloc of under
00:47Mr. Eisenkopf.
00:48They will not get 61.
00:49They will get less than 61, let's say like 56.
00:52But against them, there will be 52, and two Arab parties will abstain.
00:58And it gives them a majority, but not of 61.
01:01It calls them a minority government.
01:03And the third scenario is a national unity government under Mr. Netanyahu and Mr. Eisenkopf.
01:10We did have national unity government in the past.
01:14Some of them survived long term.
01:16There is no bad blood among the two gentlemen, and they have to find a way to form such a
01:22government.
01:23This is also an option right now to see at the end of the day a national unity government.
01:28Considering the open fronts with Iran, with Hezbollah, with Hamas, and with the Houthis, it might be for the sake
01:37of the interests of Israel.
01:38Sir, also in what scenarios, in what situation, circumstances, election can again be announced in Israel?
01:46If the president nominates a candidate, member of parliament, to form a government, and after 42 days that he can
01:54get, he cannot make it.
01:56And the president can give the mandate for another person.
01:59But if the other candidate cannot make it after 28 days, which means at the end of the process, there
02:05is no government in effect,
02:07then the parliament has to decide either to produce 61 or it dissolves itself automatically.
02:15Mr. Ticket, how and why Prime Minister Netanyahu has become an issue of this election?
02:21Mr. Netanyahu is a controversial prime minister for a very long time.
02:26So people here, and we see at the opposition bloc, the glue between the four parties is to try to
02:34replace the government of Mr. Netanyahu.
02:36So with the new government, Mr. Netanyahu has served as prime minister the longest time ever, 19 years, non-consecutive
02:43terms.
02:44And he is very controversial, and the bloc that against Mr. Netanyahu would like him to be removed and replaced.
