00:00There was a drive just before halftime.
00:01Philly got the ball with a minute 39,
00:04and they were just on their side of the 50,
00:07but they got the ball at their 41.
00:10That was a real scoring opportunity for them,
00:13and their defense forced a punt from the Dallas offense.
00:16That looked like, oh, man, Philly's going to steal something here
00:19just before halftime.
00:20Maybe it's only a field goal, but at that point,
00:23they were trailing 17-14.
00:26It was like, all right, Philly might be able to take the lead
00:28going into halftime.
00:30He threw two awful passes, and they were on subsequent plays,
00:35and the first one, I can't remember which receiver it was
00:39because they were down a bunch of receivers.
00:41Kid ran a little in, was wide open between the seams,
00:44and he just short-armed it.
00:46And I was like, and you saw him.
00:48Aikman took him to town for it.
00:50The receiver did not show up his guy, which I give him credit for,
00:54but McKee was clearly upset visibly.
00:57And then the next play is the rookie out of USC, Lemon.
01:02And he's running like a little in, but from the outside.
01:06And the safety's there and the linebacker's there.
01:09He puts it behind him.
01:11Lemon gets popped on the play.
01:13Yeah, he got blasted.
01:13And that's a quarterback hanging his receiver out to dry,
01:16especially when he's trying to make a play, reaching behind him.
01:19And those two plays, to me,
01:22impacted the confidence of the receiving core with their quarterback.
01:26Because they had the really good drive to start the third quarter,
01:30and then that was mostly running the ball.
01:32What I pick up from him, when he can step into it,
01:39he gets some good velocity on the ball, and he lets it fly.
01:43When he can't completely step into it,
01:46he tries to throw it with an arm, and he don't have that strength.
01:51The thing about him, though,
01:53like you look at some other quarterbacks that don't have a strong arm,
01:55they're very quick at reading and figuring stuff out,
01:58and they let it go early.
01:59He's not as quick as they are,
02:01and then he tries to do those same things with a weaker arm.
02:05And that's why I think he gets a lot of problems.
02:09It didn't look great, for sure.
02:12What did you think of the Cowboys, though?
02:14Because the Cowboys got the win.
02:17They're now up to 3-4.
02:19The Eagles are 2-5.
02:21Offensively, they're stout.
02:22Well, listen, if Dak is not rushed or hampered,
02:29he's going to throw the ball very well.
02:31And last night, this is the first time I saw him go to both pickings
02:36and Lamb consistently.
02:38Normally, he goes to one guy, and the other guy is just pissed off.
02:42Yeah.
02:42But last night, he was working both of them.
02:44And the kid floor noise.
02:45Yeah, but those two guys were unbelievable with their catches.
02:50But the thing is, you have to hamper him.
02:52Their defense is still not good to me.
02:55No.
02:56Definitely not.
02:57You wonder what the second half against the Niners looks like for Washington
03:02if Mike Evans doesn't get hurt.
03:03You wonder what that game last night looks like if Saquon's able to go the whole game.
03:08I mean, he had seven for 62 last night.
03:10He was killing them.
03:11He just, he's not there yet.
03:13How day anybody ready for the run game yesterday?
03:16Well, dude, that's my biggest question coming out of this game.
03:19I think Tanner McKee performed like a backup quarterback.
03:23There was some good, there was some bad, threw a bad pick.
03:26Like, he was, that's why he's not the starter, right?
03:30The most shocking element to me, and I don't know what the answer is up there,
03:35and I don't know that Sirianni's the guy to get the answer,
03:37because you start to wonder if some of the Eagles' defense was kind of checked out.
03:44Javante Williams, I have him in a fantasy league.
03:47He has really done nothing all year.
03:50Last night, I think he kind of dominated for the Cowboys.
03:5225 carries, 155 yards, had the touchdown, had a 34-yard run.
03:57I mean, they got 35 carries to their running backs.
04:02The backup, this dude Goodson, had 10 carries last night.
04:05Like, some of that's icing out a game where you have a double-digit lead,
04:08but they were able to consistently drop the game, though.
04:11They didn't wait until the end of the game.
04:12No.
04:13They were running the ball effectively throughout.
04:15And those two big boys in Philly?
04:18Carter and Davis?
04:19They looked like they had just, you know, left a buffet.
04:24They didn't want to play, looked like last night to me.
04:26That's what it looked like to me, man.
04:27And I just, Jalen Carter just got the massive contract.
04:30He finished that game with two tackles.
04:32And I'm fully aware that defensive line stats are not always the best indicator
04:38of how a player performed, but he didn't perform.
04:42Normally, he takes over games.
04:43He's very disruptive.
04:45He wasn't that last night.
04:46No.
04:47Because they were running that thing inside the tackles, downhill,
04:51and they couldn't do a damn thing about it.
04:52Reek Wollin, who I know some folks here wanted Washington to sign,
04:56that Philly signed in the offseason after winning the Super Bowl with Seattle,
04:59he's a grabby corner.
05:00I think there's probably a reason Seattle let him walk,
05:02and it wasn't all salary cap related.
05:05Yeah, but, like, I mean, the thing, I'll say this.
05:08Defensive backs in the NFL are handcuffed.
05:10Oh.
05:11I mean, receivers do as much as the damn defensive back.
05:15They never get called.
05:16And once they supposedly pass five yards, you can't touch them.
05:19It's hard for those defensive backs.
05:21But last night, he was taking every move they gave him.
05:25And he was late.
05:26Yeah.
05:27So he had to reach.
05:28Totally.
05:28I think the Philly defense, I mean, there was so much talk of Cooper DeGene
05:33and Quinion Mitchell as their corners.
05:35Those guys, to me, aren't living up to exactly what they have been.
05:39But I think that stems from a lack of pressure.
05:42When the Eagles were kicking everybody's ass, it's because quarterbacks had no time.
05:46I mean, that defensive line was just getting to every quarterback in sight.
05:51Dak had time last night.
05:52Dak had pockets.
05:53Oh, yeah.
05:53Dak wasn't great, but the stat line at the end of the night, he had 212 yards on 15 completions.
06:0115 to 27 for 212.
06:03The three touchdown passes, all three of those were dimes.
06:06Perfect.
06:06No picks.
06:08Clean sheet for the Cowboys.
06:10Zach Bond.
06:13He seemed off a little bit last night to me.
06:15You know, it reminded me, like, the original Space Jam.
06:19I never saw the LeBron nonsense, but I saw the MJ one, right?
06:22And the Monstars come in and steal everybody's talent.
06:26Like, it seemed like last night, whatever super element Zach Bond has was stolen from him
06:30because he just did not have it.
06:32And that's, just like you discussed about the no pressure,
06:36when the big boys don't keep those guards and stuff off the chest of the linebacker,
06:42it's a bad game for them.
06:43But when they are playing dominant and they can, you know,
06:47make that double team stay a little longer or have to work harder,
06:51that linebacker can get some free runs.
06:52He didn't get those free runs last night.
06:54No.
06:55I mean, Dallas put up over 400 yards of offense.
06:57Dallas was really good on third down, 8 of 13 on third down.
07:01And now you turn the page because that's life in the NFL.
07:04And the Commanders face a true must-win game Sunday night against Philly.
07:10I think organizationally, you can't afford to lose this
07:14and really look at a season that's still going to matter.
07:18If you get 1-5-1, that's going to be damn near impossible to climb out of.
07:25Especially, and I said this last week, and I get, you know,
07:28it was easy to kind of discount.
07:29At some point, we had to take the Giants seriously.
07:32And maybe you discussed this yesterday, Brian.
07:34Forgive me if you did.
07:35But, I mean, the Giants went to Houston and won in overtime, right?
07:41Like, that's a really good win.
07:43And the Giants' defense continues to be good.
07:46Harbaugh's making no secret that he just wants to out-physical you on offense.
07:50We're going to line up 13 personnel, try to shove it on you.
07:54And with J.J. McCarthy, you do wonder,
07:58once there's a couple weeks of tape on him, what happens there.
08:01But McCarthy is willing to give likely and neighbors chances down the field.
08:07And they're 4-2-1.
08:09They're 4-2-1, and I think what happened in that game,
08:12they basically took Houston's superpower out of the game.
08:19Instead of drop back passing, they ran the damn ball on them.
08:23And I think that's the best way to beat guys that are extremely good at pass rushing,
08:28run right at them.
08:29Well, and for a coach like Harbaugh that is trying to set the tempo of that organization,
08:34set the mindset, for him, for them to lose to the Saints in a game,
08:39he benches Scadaboo, then he cuts Najee Harris.
08:42Like, he is telling you, it's going to be my way.
08:46And then he got Scadaboo back involved.
08:48I just, we have this mindset that the East is wide open.
08:52I'm not sure it's as wide open as everybody wants.
08:54Not that any door is closed, but the Giants are significantly better right now in the win column.
09:02In the win column, they are, but I still, I'm not buying J.J. McCarthy yet.
09:08So, I know, I watched that game the other day, and that running game carried that team.
09:14And they got to a point where they had to stop the run so much, they left a lot of
09:18open stuff for him.
09:19You better pass well in that.
09:21Sure.
09:21But I just want to see where he has to take over a game and what he could do.
09:24Well, and I also wonder, and I'm not trying to be like a negative dude here,
09:29but we talk about injury history, right?
09:33Injury-prone guys.
09:34That's certainly a popular topic in our town.
09:37Scadaboo gave them something in that Houston game, especially against a rugged Texans defense.
09:43Scadaboo matched the physicality, and he's able to do that.
09:46He went 17 for $1.24 on that Texans D.
09:49I don't know, I mean, the Giants have played 7, so they have 10 left.
09:56You getting 10 from Scadaboo down the stretch here?
09:59Because I'm not sure you are.
10:01And if he's not there, Singletary and Tracy do not bring that same physical element.
10:06They don't bring that same physical element, but that damn Singletary and Tracy, they can gas you.
10:13And that's the thing about their running game.
10:16When they have Scadaboo to bring that thunder in there, then you got lightning coming behind them.
10:22So we'll see.
10:23We'll see.
10:24It's interesting.
10:25These next three, four weeks are vital.
10:29I mean, they got two division games in the next three games.
10:32So if the NFC East is open and you're going to make a charge at it, it's put up or
10:36shut up time.
10:37And I think it's put up or shut up time for the team, for the organization, for the 2026 season.
10:44That is where this thing is.
10:47I think for Dan Quinn, national television, playing a backup quarterback at Philly, this game specifically for him might be
10:56put up or shut up.
10:57Because I just, last I checked, and I will go to the website just to be sure on this.
11:04I'm going to commanders.com.
11:10It is Tuesday, September 27th.
11:13Mm-hmm.
11:14Sunday's game is what?
11:15November 1st.
11:17November 1st.
11:18Halloween, Saturday night.
11:19As of Tuesday, October 27th, the front of the commander's website says, tickets still available.
11:25Sunday night showdown.
11:26Commander's Eagles.
11:27Mm-hmm.
11:28If we get to Sunday night, and half that stadium's Eagles fans, and they lose to Tanner McKee, considering the
11:39way this year has gone, I don't think Dan Quinn can outrun that storm.
11:43This is as real must-win as it gets.
11:45I don't think the amount of Eagles fans dictate anything.
11:49I think he probably had conversations already that say, this team's got to play better and perform better.
11:54All right, the Eagles fans, you can be damn near winning every game.
11:58They're going to still find a way to get into the stadium.
12:00Agreed with that.
12:00We've seen that.
12:01Well, and the Eagles are bad.
12:02I mean, the Eagles are now 2-5, so maybe fewer of them travel up.
12:05I think they'll still be there.
12:06I'll be honest with you.
12:08Just me and Ryan were discussing yesterday, the damn Milwaukee Brewers fans are going to Tampa because they can't afford
12:14the tickets in Milwaukee.
12:15That's crazy.
12:15So they fly all the way to Tampa, and it's cheaper.
12:18You know, sometimes.
12:19That's like people wanted to see Taylor Swift, so they flew to Switzerland.
12:21It's probably easier for them, for Eagle fans, to get into this stadium than it is to get into their
12:27own stadium.
12:27It might be.
12:28Yeah.
12:30I don't know what's worse if you're Josh Harris sitting in the owner's box, seeing green jerseys or seeing empty
12:35seats.
12:36But as of now.
12:37You should have got a lot of green jerseys.
12:38At least they know it's some green money they have to pay for.
