A massive controversy has erupted in Punjab after police personnel took away the mortal remains of Daljeet Singh, a thirty-five-year-old farmer from Mansa, as his family attempted to stage a demonstration. The family alleged that Daljeet died due to a drug overdose and questioned why his body was forcibly removed without their consent. Daljeet's wife, Paramjeet, stated that her husband had struggled with addiction for ten years and demanded immediate action against the open sale of narcotics. Conversely, Punjab Police dismissed the drug overdose claim, classifying the death as a murder after four individuals in a car dumped the body by the roadside. Police confirmed one suspect had been rounded up and stated that cause of death could only be established through a post-mortem. The incident has intensified political outrage, with Congress leaders targeting the Bhagwant Mann government over law and order and the persistent drug crisis in the state.

00:00What unfolded was so bizarre that it seems unrealistic at one point.
00:04The Punjab police personnel was seen taking away the mortal remains of a family member
00:10who had died because of a drug overdose.
00:12The family was taking the body to Parvinder Singh Jotha's residence.
00:17They wanted to stage a protest when the police arrived and took the mortal remains away.
00:21Daljeet's wife Parmjeet is claiming the husband died of a drug overdose and questioning why
00:25the body was taken away.
00:26They were going to sit on a dharna and right outside Jotha's residence and because they
00:31are saying that drugs were being sold in their residence openly, the police is rejecting
00:36the drug overdose claim stating Daljeet had been murdered.
00:39His body was dumped by four men and one of the accused though has been arrested.
00:44Search is underway for others and that's why the body has been taken away.
00:46But the Congress also, apart from this, jumping on this issue, targeting the Man government,
00:51shared another video.
00:52This one is of a serving CRPF personnel staging a protest against drug problem and was detained
00:59by the Punjab police.
01:00And this is, remember, days after we know Parvinder Singh Jotha who was killed on camera.
01:04So the Congress parties, Amrinder Singh, Raja Waring is saying that even CRPF personnel, if
01:10they ask a question on a drug issue, they are being detained and is targeting Bhagawan
01:14Taman as the Chief Minister.
01:17A man is saying that he is снимED with a drug overdose.
01:21What happened?
01:22A drug overdose.ジャón.
01:26What happened,
01:27and how the police are doing the drug overdose. What happened?
01:30the police scene? How did you get
01:32there? When did the drug
01:34overdose happen? You had died.
01:37It happened. It
01:39happened. It
01:39was a drug
01:44overdose. It went.
01:45I don't know how much money did you want to go here and ask the police to do it because
02:00they said that it should be a post-mortem or post-mortem or post-mortem or not.
02:04foreign
03:03We are not going to get our body.
03:04I don't know what the fuck is going on in the morning, but I don't know what the fuck is
03:10going on in the morning.
03:11This is what we see primarily as a murder.
03:13There are four people who are sitting there.
03:16Some misguided people who are going to kill them.
03:20The facts of the murder, the causes of death, are possible in post-mortem.
03:25In the case of this crime, I don't know what the fuck is going on.
03:33I don't know what the fuck is going on.
03:34I'm going to tell you what the fuck is going on.
03:37We have been doing the wrong thing on the other side.
03:41The three people are in our party.
03:44I want to remind everyone who are struggling with the police.
03:51I want to give them all the people who have killed them.
03:53I'll be kind of keeping peace with others.
04:03from Gulzar Singh to Parvinder Singh Jyothar
04:05to the recent one. Kamaljeet, you spoke
04:07to the wife as well. She maintains
04:09its drug overdose. Why do you
04:11think the police has come with this
04:13murder reference? What was still
04:15the reason that you would just take away the worry?
04:21Well, the Punjab port is boiling hot.
04:23Now there are allegations and counter-allegations
04:25coming in and we've heard both the
04:27version, one from the police and one from the
04:29family. So the family is saying he's been a
04:31drug addict. We're talking about Dajit Singh
04:33a 35-year-old farmer from Mansa
04:35and remember they were wanting to
04:37put the body here in this particular
04:39demonstration right here in the heart of Mansa
04:41City. Now what has happened is
04:43that this particular family has come
04:45along with the Parvinder Jyothar's family
04:47who've been demanding justice. In that
04:49particular case also no post-mortem
04:51and no cremation has taken place. It's been a fortnight
04:53now. So all these issues
04:55are now combining together with different
04:57bodies now putting their weight behind
04:59whether we're talking about the farmers.
05:01Charanjeet Singh Chani, the Congress leader was here just a short while ago
05:04and he blamed the administration
05:07they said
05:08that drugs were being spread
05:10with the help of the government and the police
05:12so serious charges coming in from
05:14the political opponents as far as
05:30you already know a lot of people were joining
05:32this particular dharna. Things
05:34were coming to a point where things were
05:36simmering down but with this
05:38fresh case coming in. But one thing is for clear
05:40Kamalji is what you've been reporting for the past few
05:42months. The situation is not looking good
05:44socially, politically in the state of
05:46a border state of Punjab and that is
05:48something Maan Government needs to look at. Appreciate you joining us.
