00:00Hello there, good afternoon. The weather is taking a turn. From stormy conditions at the
00:05start of the week, things are turning calmer, more settled and perhaps even rather foggy
00:09as we head our way closer into Halloween. For some though, this morning it has been
00:14quite a wet start. If we take a look at the radar imagery from this morning, we can see
00:17quite a few showers skirting their way eastwards across Scotland, some spells of rain across
00:21Northern Ireland, North West England and also just about pushing into areas of Wales this
00:26morning. If we jump ahead to this afternoon, we can see there will still be some rain around,
00:30mostly in the form of showers, so some sunny spells in between. We'll mostly find these
00:35showers across Scotland, Northern areas of England, parts of Wales and South West England. Actually,
00:40the far South and South East will probably remain quite dry through much of the day with
00:44high pressure holding on here. Temperatures are around about average for this point in
00:49the year. Highs of around 15 to 16 degrees Celsius towards the South, slightly lower towards the
00:54north. But in lighter winds, that's away from the north west where it could still be quite breezy.
00:58In lighter winds, it should feel much more pleasant compared to the last couple of days.
01:03Now, as we progress into the evening, there will still be some showers around for a time,
01:06but many areas will turn dry. Quite a lot of cloud pushing into the west and will likely
01:11eventually start to see some mist and fog through the early hours of the morning, especially
01:15around eastern coasts, parts of East Anglia, South East England, perhaps even Lincolnshire as well
01:20could see quite a foggy start to Thursday. Still some spots of rain around in the west,
01:25but many areas will remain dry with lighter winds. And with a fair amount of cloud around,
01:29that should hold temperatures up for many towns and cities. Lows mostly around 8 to 7 degrees Celsius,
01:34a touch higher in some spots. But under the clearest skies, in the lighter winds,
01:39that's where temperatures could dip down and may lead to quite a chilly start first thing on Thursday.
01:43Nevertheless, it's probably going to be quite a gloomy start, some mist and fog lingering
01:47around in prone spots. It will eventually clear through the course of the morning. And actually,
01:52for most, it should be a dry day with decent sunny spells by the afternoon. Still a few showers just
01:57moving into areas of Scotland, perhaps even southern England could see the odd spot of rain, but for
02:02most, it should remain dry. And we will see a bit of a breeze around, but winds will still remain
02:07fairly light, certainly if you compare it to what we've seen recently. And then more of a southerly
02:11direction by the time we reach Thursday. So once again, that will stop temperatures from dropping too low.
02:15Highs mostly around 15 to 16 degrees Celsius and feeling that little bit milder towards many
02:20northern areas as well. Now, although Thursday remains dry, you can see behind me there is some
02:26rain waiting in the wings. And as we move further into the week, that front does try to push its
02:31way
02:31in from the west. But we've got high pressure building out towards the east. So that does stop
02:36the front from moving in from a long time. And that does mean it's fairly slow moving. But as we
02:41reach
02:41Saturday on Halloween, some of that rain does eventually push into parts of the north and west,
02:46so that could lead to a bit of a wet Halloween for some. But high pressure still holding on for
02:50many
02:50areas, so likely remaining dry for most. Now, if you want more information on your weekend weather,
02:57even beyond the weekend, we can take a look at Alex Birkhill's 10-day trend later on YouTube.
