00:00Hello there, good afternoon. We saw a real split in our weather this morning. Wet and windy towards the northwest,
00:07calmer elsewhere.
00:08There was some fog in places, but this cleared to beautiful sunshine for some.
00:12Now, towards the northwest, this is where it's likely to remain wet and windy through much of the afternoon.
00:17A Met Office warning issued here for wind, where we could see wind speeds between 50 to 60 miles per
00:22hour, perhaps 70 miles per hour, around exposed coastal areas of northwest Scotland.
00:26The rain is likely to sit here through much of the afternoon, clouding over elsewhere, certainly across northern Ireland, northwest
00:33England, parts of Wales, where we could see the odd shower.
00:36But for most across England and Wales, it should be a dry afternoon.
00:40Still quite windy, some strong gusts around coasts and hills.
00:44The best of the sunshine likely towards the far south and southeast.
00:47And this is where we'll see the highest temperatures, widely pushing into the high teens, if not the low 20s,
00:53but slightly closer to average towards the far north.
00:57Now, the rain will eventually make a move into this evening, slowly moving its way south and east, with some
01:02quite heavy bands of rain associated with this overnight, and still often quite blustery.
01:07Just about pushing into southern Scotland, northern Ireland, perhaps northern England, through the early hours of the morning.
01:13To the south of this, it should remain dry, but there'll likely be a fair amount of cloud, and this
01:18could produce some drizzle across some hilly areas.
01:20And with still a decent breeze, some cloud, that means it is going to be a milder night compared to
01:26what we saw last night.
01:27So temperatures are still widely remaining in towards the mid-teens.
01:31But towards the very far northwest of Scotland, where the rain clears away, it's starting to turn a little bit
01:35fresher here.
01:37Now, the rain is fairly slow moving on Thursday, slowly sinking into northern parts of England, northwest Wales, through the
01:44course of the day.
01:45It will turn brighter behind this, certainly for northern Ireland, northwest Scotland, a much better day here.
01:50There's still a few showers and still often quite breezy here.
01:53And to the south of this, still remaining mostly dry, perhaps a bit of cloud in places.
01:58But this is where we'll hold on to that slightly milder air.
02:01So temperatures here still pushing into the low 20s, but much fresher behind, maybe even on the cool side, towards
02:07Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:10Now, later into the day, the cold front will eventually clear its way southeastwards, and behind it, much fresher air.
02:16So by the time we reach Friday, temperatures will start to come down.
02:19You may notice it will feel that bit cooler.
02:21But then notice to the west, high pressure is building through nicely.
02:25So that means by the time we reach the weekend, there should be lots of dry, settled weather, some sunshine
02:30in places.
02:31We may see the odd spot of rain still, just a few showers feeding in from a northerly flow.
02:35But for the large majority, it looks like a lot of decent weather on the weekend.
02:38They're still feeling a bit cooler compared to the weather we've had recently.
