00:00Hello there, good evening. Some chilly nights on the way this weekend, some frost in places.
00:06For the time being though, tonight the far south and southeast may hold on to something
00:10slightly milder. That's because we'll see more cloud here, a bit of a breeze, also some
00:15rain continuing to push its way south and southeastwards, some heavy bands associated
00:20with this rain as well and it's likely to lead to quite a wet start across parts of
00:24the south and southeast during Friday morning. To the north of this rain though, it will
00:28turn clearer. Still a fair few showers pushing into western Scotland, some areas of Northern
00:33Ireland but it's really here that things are going to turn much cooler. Quite a fresh, if
00:38not quite rather chilly start Friday morning. Temperatures between 4 to 6 degrees Celsius here
00:42but notice across the south, those temperatures still holding up between 10 to 12 degrees Celsius.
00:48Now even though a little bit milder in these areas, it's likely to be quite wet to start.
00:52The rain will eventually clear its way southeastwards, perhaps a bit slow in places but certainly
00:57by the afternoon most of the rain will have cleared. Turning much brighter behind it, plenty of sunny
01:02spells but notice we don't totally escape the rain. There's still going to be some showers on the cards,
01:07one or two of these could be heavy in places. So a mixture of sunshine and showers to finish off
01:12the
01:13week. Notice those temperatures though, they've really come down compared to what we had this afternoon,
01:18between 11 to 12 degrees Celsius towards the north, around 14 to 15 degrees Celsius towards the south. So
01:24more towards average for this point of the year but compared to this afternoon, some areas are going
01:29to be a good 5 to 7 degrees cooler compared to what we had today. So many of us are
01:34going to be noticing the chill
01:35into tomorrow. Overnight there will still be some showers for a time. They eventually become more confined to coastal areas,
01:43so many
01:43inland areas will become dry. Plenty of clear skies, generally light winds, though a bit of a breeze still around
01:49some eastern coasts. So that does mean things are going to be turning quite chilly.
01:54Widespread across the UK. Some frost expected in places, certainly across rural spots under the clearest skies.
02:01So a chilly, crisp start to the weekend but certainly going to be rather bright and there'll be plenty of
02:07dry weather. We've got high
02:08pressure building across the country, so dry weather with some sunshine. Notice though there are some showers just feeding in
02:14off
02:14that northerly breeze where it could be a little bit brisk at times around East Anglia, any north sea coasts.
02:20So this breeze will drag in some showers at times across some eastern and southeastern areas. A bit of cloud
02:26here and there.
02:27But for most, it should be a dry, settled start to the weekend. Fairly similar temperatures as well.
02:3211 to 12 degrees Celsius towards the north, 14 to 15 towards the south. Anywhere exposed to that northerly wind
02:38may just
02:39take the edge off the temperatures that little bit more. So certainly feeling chillier over the weekend if you compare
02:46it to the sorts of temperatures we've had this week. But it should be mostly dry, settled. High pressure
02:51still staying with us through into Sunday. It does shift its way eastward, so a bit more of an easterly
02:57component to the wind on Sunday. That's also going to make things feel fairly chilly and may also drag in
03:02a little bit of cloud and the odd shower or two. But many areas once again will remain dry. Now,
03:07if you
03:07want a bit more information on the weekend weather ahead, well, why not have a look at Alex Burkhill's
03:12video on the weekend weather. That's it from me. Bye bye.
