01:44how they're living like these parallel existences in the in the nfl you know mostly
01:50yeah and it you know look it sucks because i love josh allen and when we get into these
01:54debates or whatever and you start comparing the quarterbacks it turns into this like
01:58mudslinging thing which i think is so absurd over who does this better and and can this one win or
02:04you know like and then it comes down to it we're all looking at each other going well pat mahomes

02:08still just doing whatever he wants over there and uh at some point they got to get it done and

02:12there wasn't a year like last year that was should have been the year that somebody made the run in

02:16afc and not what we saw but um down here i i'd like i've been really upset at the fan

02:21here the way they've talked about lamar i mean he had a high ankle sprain the ravens didn't come out
02:26and say it uh they kind of talked about him being day to day and they were going to watch

02:30know if that's gamesmanship and not trying to tell the opponents who's going to play so you got to
02:34prepare for two quarterbacks but it did lamar no uh no justice because everybody i mean people are just
02:40turning on him like uh and and after the second half they had against cincinnati like it's just
02:46doom and gloom over here yeah one again the these two guys always makes for interesting conversation
02:54when talked about together one part of it where really alan is kind of like non-pareil is his
03:00durability and and jackson is quite not that and that's not to blame him for it but you know he's
03:07missed chunks of seasons and it's cost them you know important chances to win so now you've got
03:13alan here who just never misses a game and he he also brings up this uh when when jackson is

03:20in the conversation uh points about durability and all of that yeah i mean i think look the one thing
03:26i've said and i got into it with some fans today but you know obviously availability is the best
03:31ability at times and you guys clearly have that with josh allen i think one of the fair criticisms of
03:37lamar is that you know he's missed time and the past couple years it's happened but fans here talk
03:42about him like oh he's never done anything and i'm like oh so he hasn't won two mvps he hasn't
03:46been a
03:46three-time all pro he's not the all-time leading rusher in the nfl you know like all the things
03:51he's not
03:51the not the quarterback that has the highest qbr of all time like all of these things if you don't
03:57win a super bowl it's like it means nothing and i think fan bases and you can understand it on

04:02too they're starved for it but it's not that long ago that this team actually won a super bowl
04:06so um but fans have expectations and i think here in baltimore with you know with the orioles and
04:12how poor the last two years have been it's like hey we can't wait for football season and these past
04:17two years with football season haven't been great yeah you might find it interesting that alan has
04:23kind of dodged all of that stuff here like he he doesn't get to my ears anyway jeremy like he

04:30get roughed up for playoff losses very badly anyway like last year there were turnovers in their
04:36denver loss they also scored 30 points so i think for the most part he gets off the hook and

04:42think that's necessarily wrong um but he doesn't i don't deal with what you're telling me that you
04:48deal with with with our quarterback so i don't know why but it was weird after the brazil game
04:53against dallas where lamar kind of pulls off uh not to bring up a sore subject but the pat mahomes
04:58type deal where he throws one across the middle of the field they call timeout with one second left
05:03they boom a field goal for a kicker that needed a huge boost and it felt like okay this is

05:08for this team and they're going to figure it out and then obviously the next game in tennessee uh fans
05:13were kind of like where's lamar what's going on he doesn't come out for the second half and you know
05:18we just it turned into okay is he gonna be back next week we don't know is he gonna be

05:22after that and then you watch tyler huntley who again the you think the backup quarterback would be
05:28the favorite in in a lot of cities when it comes down to it if you're not liking your your

05:32and people have been killing him people have wanted joe finiano the the kid from connecticut
05:36to come in and play and all tyler huntley did was you know picked up a win in atlanta could
05:41have easily won that game in cleveland had derrick henry not fumbled in a missed field goal and when
05:46you go back to this past week you're at 13 to nothing at the halftime i don't know you felt

05:50about yourself maybe on the defensive side and then you promptly come out and give up five touchdowns
05:55to joe burrow and that crew uh yeah i mean like i think fans here are waiting for it and
06:00they're making it seem like the buffalo game for baltimore is a must win at this point of the
06:04season which i don't think it is but i think the fans feel that way interesting jeremy khan my guest
06:09i'm mike show bulldog is out sick today um jackson plays sunday right that's what it sounds like
06:16barring any type of setback i mean i think there was a chance he may have played last week but
06:21it was
06:21still uh according to them like a little tender that they didn't like what they were seeing
06:25and for a guy that plays like he does when you're cutting and you know he both of these guys
06:30i mean
06:31alan and lamar two of the they're they're one a and one b and you can pick whichever one you
06:35want
06:35it creating on the on the fly and making things happen and making everyone around them better
06:40they're the two best in this league i think it making the players around them better um and i think
06:45they both have done more with less at times uh you know obviously i think the wide receiving floor on
06:49your end is looking better there and that had been some question marks down here at the
06:53offensive line anybody that plays center gets hurt so i feel bad for cam jergens now that he's playing
06:57center so yeah i mean they literally lost all three centers they had on the roster they moved their
07:02first round pick to center he goes back to guard and now vega you wanna he's going to be out
07:06for a bit
07:06and he's just been unbelievable this year so they have wholesale issues on the offensive line
07:11raven centers are like the drummers in spinal tap exactly not not quite not quite that serious uh
07:19thankfully but you know uh what about kyle hamilton jeremy what's that about
07:24so i mean look kyle hamilton is uh the best you know if they use a term that everyone uses

07:31knife i mean he's almost the best everything on this team whether they want to blitz him he's covering
07:35you know he's playing linebacker they use him in so many different ways but the thing that we've started
07:40to notice that you know each game you're seeing him go down and come out for a play or two
07:45and
07:45you start to wonder like okay is he playing through something is something else going on
07:50and he went down in this last game against cincinnati i think everybody was a little surprised to hear
07:55about the knee brace at practice today so i don't know what that means for sunday because to me this
07:59is
07:59relatively new okay um where are we at with derrick henry so a couple of quiet games here you mentioned
08:06the fumble against the browns you never know and i'm not telling you i'm predicting this that we're there
08:11yet but you you never know with guys right like he's been for years an exception to the rule with
08:18how good he's been how durable and everything and maybe jackson is who he needs to sort of light it
08:24back up but um are fans worried yeah i mean there's been a little bit of talk about that because

08:30we all know the 30 year mark for a running back and when they start to hit the wall this
08:34guy has taken
08:35unbelievable care of his body i mean he's probably in the best shape of that position of anybody in the
08:40league the way that he works out it's just insane but i think it's a combination of two things i
08:44don't
08:45think people outside of baltimore realize how great the advantage is of that mesh point when lamar puts
08:50the ball in derrick henry's belly and decides whether or not he's going to give it to him or keep
08:53it
08:53himself and what that does to the defense and and you give derrick henry a sliver you give him a
08:59little
08:59spot now the secondary is trying to tackle the guy which nobody wants to do that um but this year
09:04he's been hitting the backfield way more even when lamar was in there he was getting hit in the
09:08backfield uh the story came out about how terrible they've been in short yardage situations or how
09:13terrible he's been even dating back to tennessee uh which sounds like a surprise right you get down
09:17and it's first and goal at the one it's and people were screaming before just give derrick henry the
09:21ball four times and we'll get in right um that hasn't been the case he's been hitting the backfield
09:26quite a bit outside of the two-point conversion they ran in atlanta which was a really nice play
09:30design um i think what most people think of derrick henry is this in between the tackle runner but
09:35honestly he's more of an off to tackle guy and that's where he does most of his damage
09:38thank you for making that goal line point because i continue to end up in arguments about the
09:43marshall lynch one and yeah i've always that's the one nobody wants to hear right because they had to
09:48throw it on one of those downs or use their time out early and show their hand yeah i've i've

09:54defended the seahawks for that and i nobody nobody likes it it's always like well he would have scored
10:00and he didn't even have a good success rate that year no he didn't so you know you know it's

10:07it's fun all this is fun um the former coordinator martindale made some comments that found my feed
10:15today about players on the ravens making business decisions quote unquote he's not there anymore
10:21um but he doesn't like what he sees apparently and you know something like jeremy there could be
10:28real changes if they lose this game i struggle to think of what that would be like what kind of
10:34real changes would happen in week eight uh if they were to lose the bills any thoughts yeah i mean
10:38some of the finger finger pointing starts and people have pointed the finger at eric da costa who i think
10:43is just one of the best gms in football fans here get upset and you know even analysts will start
10:49picking them apart for what they do in free agency like there's nothing you could have done with tyler
10:52the contract he got was just absolutely ridiculous he's a good player um but how they build around
10:58lamar and why they've had the failures in the postseason and how they've lost games and you know
11:03you get rid of hardball he's he'd blown 18 double digit leads and now you already have two games this
11:08year where you blew double digit leads but technically three you know um and and when you look back at
11:14it
11:14that's part of the the issue they've seen but going back to this cincinnati game and some of wink
11:18martindale's comments everybody here in town is tired of marlon humphrey number 44 with his podcast
11:24and the stupid stuff he does you know like even after getting burned uh to a crisp in the second
11:30half on sunday he's coming out monday tweeting out what's everybody having for dinner and there's
11:35nothing wrong with that but fans do not want to hear that from you when you guys look terrible
11:38um and then there was the big thing uh we had our special teams and marlon humphrey meet up with
11:43president trump when he was here and then fans were up some fans were upset about it some loved it

11:48you know how this country is um so he's been kind of a you know the guy that's getting the
11:53finger
11:54pointed at at him the most uh because he's out doing all this other stuff and i think that's one
11:58of the guys wink was alluding to he'd rather be doing his podcast and goofing off talking about
12:03food and everything else than focusing on football he's given up more yards than any other cornerback in
12:08the fourth quarter this year and you know you're seeing some of those problems like nate wiggins on the
12:12other side has been a godsend that that kid's one of the best young cornerbacks that nobody really
12:16talks about he got beat by jamar chase this weekend but i don't think there's any harm or foul in
12:21that
12:21um some people have questioned roquan smith like you know this guy's the middle linebacker you traded
12:26for from the bears he was considered the best middle linebacker in football by a lot of people
12:30and has he played like it is he playing up to snuff the trey hendrickson you sign him he breaks
12:36his hand
12:36and he's playing with a club on his hand he's getting his hurries he's getting some hits but he's not
12:41getting to the quarterback so i i think there's a lot of finger pointing going on more from the outside
12:45than the
12:46inside um but you know who knows maybe it does come to something where i don't i don't think a
12:51coordinator or anybody's going to be fired or anything like that i think if something's changed
12:55it would be somebody getting benched or maybe they're looking at the front office okay interesting
13:00um we already talked about jackson but humphrey did have jackson's back this week he made some
13:05comments about how he doesn't think some of the criticism is fair about um jackson and that that
13:10speaks to me yeah you know because i guess what i was alluding to earlier with like the injury report
13:16like the ravens coming out and kind of being coy with it and saying day to day or we're going
13:20to
13:20keep an eye on it lamar's up at the podium and he's like yeah it's a high ankle sprain and

13:24they told him about the report that ian rapaport had and he goes i don't know where he got his
13:27information from and he's like i'm not even mad at him but you know i talked to the trainer it's

13:32high ankle sprain and anyone that's had one of those or knows anything about it it usually takes
13:36about a month to come back and we're probably right on track for that with the bills yeah right
13:40i talked to ross tucker every week he was on with us uh yesterday and he he pointed out that
13:46apparently jackson did the cbs interview with jim nance and uh i guess jj watt last week which you
13:53know might have been some indication that he would play but i'm not saying that there's anything sort
13:57of weird about it necessarily it could be you know just came down to the last minute and he didn't
14:02feel
14:02right so yeah we even had the point well he went through walkthrough and practiced on friday which
14:07that got everyone excited and it's like oh yeah he's going to play on sunday and all of a sudden
14:11i think it was sometime saturday afternoon the story gets released that he's not playing uh that
14:16they hope to have him back next week and this has been look they got the bangles off of by
14:20they get
14:20the bills off of by and then they get jacksonville in a short week but thankfully you get them at
14:24home
14:24so they had three games in 12 days i it's not the best idea to rush a guy back from
14:29an ankle injury
14:29when you have that type of schedule coming up um but jesse minner even said something to the fact of
14:35you know i think it was adidi kinkabuala's uh report um about them you know not not understanding
14:41what's going on or they were shocked by the news and he had to dial it back saying no no
14:46if that's
14:46the case and what somebody took away from it that's not it so yeah i think there's just some
14:50communication issues going on behind the scenes and even out on the football field uh and that's
14:56been part of their problem jeremy what do you think of mincher so far i i like him you know

15:01it's funny i i was talking to somebody this past week and i kind of compared it when mike mcdonald
15:06got here so when they took mike mcdonald from michigan and through his first eight games this
15:11defense was struggling and rex ryan was even on espn saying oh yeah look at the defensive genius
15:15they got there and then they win the triple crown on defense the next year and mike mcdonald
15:20gets the job with seattle and god that guy's brilliant i swear so so smart um and and you know
15:27like i i thought maybe that's what was going on with this with this type of zone that jesse
15:31minner likes to run there's a lot of uh a lot of hiding you know a lot of uh secretive
15:36stuff some
15:37exotic blitzes uh we even had calais campbell drop back in coverage at one point you're like oh no
15:42what's going on here um so they've done a lot of things but we've seen guys get burned and we've
15:47we've
15:47had these questions about cornerbacks why are they 10 yards off the line of scrimmage i mean they got
15:52killed by a couple of teams with just the easiest pitch and catch pass you could possibly have
15:57right off the line of scrimmage and then it's like well here go ahead and run eight yards and
16:01then we'll try to tackle you so uh this past week they had 11 missed tackles in the game
16:05and most of that coming in the second half so i think minter people are questioning whether or not
16:10he should be the defensive play caller as well i just want to give it time to kind of play
16:14out
16:14they've you know they've had lamar for four games and they're three and one in those games yeah
16:19i mean the the parallels just never seem to quit with these two teams the the fact that minter is
16:25young i mean brady is younger here joe brady but you know first year coaches and we talked a lot
16:31this summer about just sort of what kind of respect he would get from his team and that has not
16:36been an
16:36issue yet as far as i know at all where you're talking about more drama with the ravens it seems
16:42to follow jackson around uh so maybe it's different on that front too but the bills defense jeremy i mean
16:49they've given up fewer than 29 points in the game once so far like they're getting shredded
16:55and that could you know you never know with the nfl but that could set up for an absolute bonkers

17:00maybe like last year's when these teams met yeah look i'm i'm a gambler by nature um i do sports
17:06gambling i i have my own website i do all this stuff i've done it for over 20 years and

17:11talking about save the public i don't care what the total is this week and i am not looking at

17:15under just looking at the over the way that things have gone i just think these two teams are going

17:20be able to move the ball on each other um and you know it all depends on what lamar looks
17:24like with
17:24the ankle and if there's any hiccups there uh if they can get any sort of pressure on him to
17:29see
17:29what that ankle looks like and force him to do some things maybe he doesn't want to do uh but

17:34know with josh allen on the flip side the way i've seen this defense kind of break down when any
17:38quarterback has been giving a little bit more time uh there have been big plays all over the field and
17:43you know as well as i do he's going to find those guys back-to-back wins for the bills
17:47out west the
17:47rams and then the raiders and both of those games were shootouts the last couple of weeks before i
17:52lose you jeremy how about the afc north so far is cleveland good is pittsburgh good what what's the
17:59kind of what's the order for you of these teams uh if you were to sort of power our grades
18:03for me
18:04right now because like if they had the playoff today three afc north teams are in the playoffs and
18:08the ravens aren't one of them right um but they have four more games left in the towards the end
18:13of the year i think cleveland's better than people think i don't know that they're the team that should
18:18win this division i mean look if they keep building confidence i never expected deshaun watson to look
18:23this way i think the steelers are frauds i mean watching the saints just uh won these crossing
18:29patterns and guys running wide open as soon as an offensive coordinator gets a look at that defense
18:34and has a good offense i think they're just going to tear them apart with these crossing routes
18:37their linebackers cannot cover um and cincinnati look they're better up the middle better defensively
18:43um but they can definitely be had in the air i mean you saw tyler huntley moving the ball up
18:46and
18:46down the field on them um but they've had a bend don't break mentality so i think cincinnati's better
18:52look i'm hopeful and i believe that lamar is healthy that the ravens are still going to come back in
18:56this
18:56division and at worst make the playoffs um but it is kind of a tough call i mean you've got
19:01all these
19:01teams that are sitting above them that are that are playing better i think cincinnati has the easiest
19:05schedule so if you force me to pick i'd probably tell you the bangles might be the best of that
19:09bunch and they were favored pre-season in 15 of 17 games on paper before the season started and
19:15you know so far so good i guess on that i was in you talk about being a gambler bulldog
19:21and i went to
19:21las vegas for that bills game a couple of weeks ago and not a bad little setup jeremy to sit
19:27in in
19:28the hotel at circa and look out the window at the stadium swim and basically you could watch games from
19:33your room you don't even have to swim you can just sit there and all the games are on that

19:38screen uh i mean i'm not sure if you've been but a nice little setup so i saw the screen

19:43there last year and went to the sphere for two different shows i saw the wizard of oz with my
19:48family and the eagles there i would have seen anybody you could have told me that joe blow or
19:52the backstreet boys were playing there and i would have gone anyway that that place is just amazing
19:56but i got to we walked through the circuit and i got to see that and it's that's incredible yeah

20:01know i don't know about a game at the stadium yet and seeing how everything sets up but you know
20:06there's not a bad spot really to watch the game in vegas what was best was on thursday night the
20:11hotel room didn't have amazon but the the pool did so to watch that game i had to stare out
