00:00British King Charles' nine-day visit to the Caribbean is being overshadowed by increasingly vocal demands for reparations payments for
00:08its role in the slave trade.
00:10He did acknowledge the injustices of slavery on his first day in the Bahamas, saying Commonwealth leaders will discuss the
00:17issue at their summit next week.
00:20But demonstrators in Nassau's Clifford Park on Wednesday held banners saying regret was not enough, with others shouting, pay us
00:27what you owe us.
00:29Our message is that we want freedom, redemption, international repartuation with full compensation, otherwise known as repertory justice.
00:38We understand that King Charles and the British monarchy are saying they are not apologising and they feel like they
00:46don't have nothing to answer to.
00:48But we are here to remind them that they do. Crime does not work. There's no statute of limitation on
00:56murder.
00:56The reparations issue is gathering momentum across the Caribbean. Last month's regional bloc CARICOM said it wanted the matter on
01:04the agenda at the Commonwealth summit.
01:05From the 15th to the 19th century, at least 12 and a half million Africans were abducted by European traders
01:12and transported to the Americas where they were sold into slavery.
01:15Who's marching behind who they were disturbing?
01:17Who's marching banding with некоторые juniors for failure.
