If you sit at a desk most of the day, the muscles in your legs mostly stop pulling sugar out of your blood, and your pancreas makes up for it by pumping out more insulin. Years of that is how insulin resistance builds.
A small muscle deep in your calf called the soleus can change that. In a University of Houston study, people did seated calf raises while they sat, and after a sugary drink their blood sugar rise was about half as big, with 60 percent less insulin needed. That works out to roughly 50 points less on the meter in the first couple of hours.
TikTok is busy with lymphatic walking, but this is the move I'd actually spend my time on, and insulin resistance is something you can reverse.
Let's get healthy together.
