00:16Obviously, in tight spaces, you have to be really creative about where you put things
00:20and how you display things.
00:22And one of the things I really like to do, especially with favorite pieces that I have
00:25so I can rotate them, is just hanging things on the outside of my closet.
00:28It kind of reminds me of things I want to wear, or how I want to wear them, and I
00:32love
00:32this vest, this embellished vest by Zara.
00:34It's cotton, it's really soft, it's kind of cool to mix it with a different pattern, and
00:38it's just nice to see it every day, and when the sunlight comes in through the window, it's
00:42like a disco ball in my kitchen.
00:43More important than organization and space-saving techniques is just having lots of fabrics and
00:49pieces in my closet that are really comfortable and long-lasting, don't require a lot of maintenance,
00:54like dry cleaning, which is such a bummer.
00:56So cotton pieces are obviously easy to wash and wear, they're really comfortable.
01:01A shirt like this, which is by Edith Miller, they make some of the best t-shirts.
01:05If you can wear it with anything, it holds its shape, and it's great all year round.
01:08Another cotton piece that I love and that I wear all the time is this really cute baseball
01:14jacket.
01:15It's kind of like half sweatshirt, half jacket.
01:17I thrifted this at one of my favorite thrift stores on Long Island.
01:20Usually natural fabrics really hold up really well over time.
01:23Cotton is something I always look for.
01:25Indulging my obsessive-compulsive habit, I like to actually put some outfits together
01:29sometimes.
01:30It makes it easier to get dressed in the morning.
01:32This is a really easy look that I would wear like to work or on the weekends.
01:36I didn't have any kind of fancy meetings.
01:37It starts with this Madewell shirt, it's made out of chambray, and it's super comfortable.
01:42It's lightweight, it feels great on the body.
01:43And then this old, washed out Levi's vest is like indispensable for any girl.
01:49I kind of like this look with these vintage Mimu denim platform shoes.
01:54Now that we're sort of in the thick of fall, I love this oversized waffle knit black turtleneck
02:02sweater by the Swedish brand called Hope.
02:04They make amazing knitwear for men and women.
02:07That really holds up over time.
02:08I love the idea of just like wearing them with this really pretty baby blue slim polished
02:13cotton trouser.
02:14Fill up them for Target.
02:15They're incredible.
02:17And they hold their shape really nicely throughout the day.
02:19You just pair them with these like silver and pony hair Lafleur Randall creepers and you're
02:24totally set.
02:25So for me, the three most important parts of a good working closet are one, organization,
02:30two really fun accessories that you can just like grab really easily and see, and three
02:34just really great basic cotton pieces that are easy to care for.
02:38You can wear them forever and you can just do just about anything with them.
