00:09Today I'm double daring myself to go strong on my eyes and my lips.
00:14Alright, so we're talking about a dark eye with a dramatic lip.
00:18What is it about this look that has you a little afraid?
00:21Well, I love doing like strong kind of different eye makeup looks and I love a bright or a dark
00:27lip.
00:27But pairing them together and getting the right shades is really challenging.
00:32It is a challenge and that femme fatale look can be fatal for a lot of women because it makes
00:37them look overly made up.
00:39Let me show you how to make that look modern.
00:42Awesome, let's do it.
00:43So I'm using a kohl pencil and I'm bringing it right along that water line right inside the eye.
00:50Then you can take your same kohl pencil, hold it like a pencil, use the whole tip not just a
00:54point,
00:54and we're just going to sketch it right along that lash line.
00:58What makes the eye smoky is the saturation of color around the lashes.
01:02So I'm going back in with a brush and I'm just blending that right up so it's a little bit
01:08softer and sexier.
01:09Next I'm going to use a chubby charcoal pencil.
01:11So I'm just building this color on really softly just to give us a base.
01:17And I'm bringing it from crease to lash.
01:19Next I'm going to go in with my finger and I'm just going to blend that right up.
01:23So it's really just a soft smudge but it will give us that sooty smoky effect.
01:28And I'm going to finish this off with a clean color.
01:31For your eye, to give us something a little different than the expected black, I'm going to use a soft
01:36smoky blue.
01:37And again, I'm just using that on the lid from crease to lash.
01:42I'm starting in the center of the lid so that's my biggest impact of color.
01:46And I'm using my finger just to kind of sheer it all the way out.
01:50Now I'm taking my same blending brush and my same cream color and I'm just working that back into the
01:56bottom lash line.
01:57Getting this beautiful soft smudgy smoky eye that's sexy but still wearable from daytime right into evening.
02:05Now I'm going to do a deep dark lip.
02:08So I'm starting with a lip pencil.
02:10Now the trick with a lip pencil is to still use something that's close to the lip color.
02:14So I'm only going a few shades darker than your lip color and then shading it up towards the center.
02:20I'm also shading my color into the corners of the mouth because with this dark color we really want to
02:25pull that mouth forward.
02:27Next is our lip color. I'm using a gloss.
02:30Gloss only goes in the center of the lip and then I'm going to go in with a lip brush
02:33just to fill in with my color.
02:37Take a look. Let me know if you like it.
02:39Okay. Okay.
02:40Oh wow.
02:41It's dramatic but it's beautiful and it's a daring look that any woman can wear from daytime to evening any
02:49day.
02:49That's awesome. It's really different. I love it.
