00:03Hey everyone, it's Taylor with Refinery29. Today I'm going to show you how to apply an entire face of makeup,
00:09only using your fingers.
00:10This is going to be great for those of you who have trouble with brushes or who just don't want
00:14to add them into your routine.
00:15I'm going to be starting off with the Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation.
00:19The key to applying foundation with your hands is not to dot it all over the face and then blend
00:22in.
00:23The foundation will start to settle once you've applied it to the skin, so you want to work in sections
00:27and blend out as you go.
00:35You want to blend it in almost like you're putting moisturizer on your skin, but really kind of pulling the
00:41product down as much as you can.
00:45Make sure to pay attention to just underneath the jaw.
00:49Since I don't need too much coverage on my forehead, I just apply it towards the center of the face
00:53again.
00:58Now once I've applied the first coat, I'm going to go back and put it anywhere else that I need
01:02it.
01:03I like to press the foundation in with my fingers.
01:07The heat from the tips of your fingers is going to help melt the product into your skin.
01:13Today I'm going to be using the Clay to Post Stick Concealer in Ivory for under my eyes and around
01:17my face.
01:19I really like this concealer because it's a thicker formula.
01:22It lasts a lot longer on the skin and you can blend it out really easily with the warmth of
01:26your fingers, which is exactly what I'm going to do.
01:28So I like to pull it off of the stick with my fingers and rub it between my fingertips to
01:34kind of warm it up.
01:44There are tons of cream blushes out on the market, but today I'm actually going to be using a liquid
01:48blush.
01:49I really like these ones for oilier skin types because they stay put and they're not going to smudge around
01:53on the skin.
01:54Today I'm going to be using the Clarins Instant Light Blush in Coral Tonic.
01:58I'm going to apply it to my finger first and blend into the cheek this way.
02:03This is going to give me more control of the blush and the application instead of applying it to the
02:11cheek first and then blending it out.
02:15Now it's time to tackle the eyes.
02:17Cream eyeshadow is an obvious choice here, but I'm actually going to use a powder shadow and show you how
02:22to blend out with your finger using three of the colors.
02:25Today I'm going to be using the Dior Five Color Palette in Rosy Tan.
02:29I'm going to start with the shimmery taupe color, just picking up a little bit to begin with.
02:34So I'm going to start out very lightly pressing this onto my lid.
02:39We want to start by getting the color completely on the lid before we go in to blend out.
02:45And I'm going to go right up to my crease with this.
02:48Since I want a little bit more color closer to the lash line, I'm going to pick up a little
02:52bit more and I'm going to press it into my lid over where we've already applied.
02:59You'll notice I'm not pulling the shadow, but more so pressing it into the skin.
03:06Get as close to your lashes as you can.
03:10Now I'm going to take the center color, which is the light highlighting color, and I'm going to use my
03:14ring finger for this.
03:16This color is super light and shimmery, and we're just going to go right up to the brow bone.
03:22I'm going to blend it into the crease, and don't worry if you get over where you've just applied.
03:28It's totally okay because it's going to blend the colors into each other.
03:31Now I'm going to show you how to contour using a darker shade.
03:33I'm going to grab the dark color on the top of the palette with my middle finger.
03:40This part can be kind of tricky, but we've already created a powder base on the lid, so this powder
03:45is going to blend a little bit easier into it.
03:48Looking in the mirror, I'm going to tilt my head back just a little bit, and I'm going to pull
03:52the color into this crease right around my eye socket.
03:57I want to pull it a little bit down onto the corners of my eyes as well, just to kind
04:01of give it a little bit more definition down here.
04:12Using a clean finger, I'm going to kind of blend it out.
04:17You want to make sure that the eyeliner that you choose is super creamy so that you're able to blend
04:21it with your finger.
04:23I'm going to use the Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Perfect Expresso.
04:28To get more definition with the eyeliner, I'm going to start by going into the lashes.
04:32I do that by tilting my head back and pressing my finger onto the lid, pulling the lashes up.
04:39Using small dashes, I'm going to pull the tip of the pencil from the actual lashes out.
04:54And when it's still creamy, I'm going to go in and blend with my finger.
05:05I'm not so much pulling the color as I am sort of pushing it into the skin and just barely
05:10lifting up as I come out.
05:13One of my favorite lipstick looks is to actually use a lip pencil all over the lip.
05:17So I'm going to show you now how to blend that out with your finger and a simple balm.
05:22I'm going to start by applying the Victoria's Secret Pro Lip Primer and Definer.
05:35I'm just going to line the entire lip with this.
05:38I'm then going to use the number 7 lip liner in Melon all over my lip to make that my
05:44lip color.
05:54So there you have it, an entire face of makeup not using any brushes.
05:58It's a lot easier than it looks.
