00:10Over time, I've learned to love my big eyes and my big lips, and with the help of makeup,
00:15I bring them to life and accentuate them more.
00:17I've learned to love them because they're not going anywhere.
00:20When I first started wearing makeup, my family was confused as to why,
00:23because they thought it was beautiful just the way I was.
00:25But in actuality, I don't wear makeup for anybody else but for me.
00:29Representation is really important to me because growing up,
00:31I didn't see a lot of people who looked like me in spaces that I wanted to occupy,
00:35media or modeling.
00:37As a model, I feel like it's my responsibility to shed light on women who look like me and our
00:43narrative.
00:44Now I'm going to start the steps on how to achieve my glowy look.
00:47The first step is to prep my skin with a primer.
00:51Next, I'm going to apply my foundation and I'm going to apply a small amount on my forehead,
00:54my cheeks, and my chin, and I'm going to use my beauty sponge to blend it all together.
01:00This foundation has SPF, which is really important because I always want to protect my skin as much as possible.
01:06Next, I apply concealer under my eyes and on my chin.
01:09For my brows, I shape them first with a liner and then go in with a powder to fill them

01:14and then finish off by brushing them with the brow mascara.
01:17For my eyeshadow, I choose a dark brown shade with a bit of a shimmer that allows me to highlight
01:23my naturally dark lids.
01:25For eyeliner, I use dark brown for added definition.
01:28Then, I apply two coats of mascara.
01:32Next, I use bronzer on my hairline, cheekbones, and jawline.
01:36Next up, we have highlighter, my absolute favorite part.
01:39For my first layer, I'm going to use a cream highlighter.
01:41Using the tips of my fingers, I'm going to apply it on my cheekbones, my nose, my cupid's bow, and
01:47my chin.
01:48For my second layer of highlight, because I love the extra glow, I'm going to use my golden eyeshadow on
01:53top of my cream highlighter.
01:55I like to use a fan brush because it picks up just the right amount of product.
01:58Last step is lipstick.
02:00I like to line my lips with a nude liner.
02:02Next, I mix a pink and brown liquid lipstick to get the perfect nude for my skin tone.
02:07For me, I think it's really important that women are just allowed to be, whether that means they want to
02:11wear makeup, not wear makeup, wear hijab, wear no hijab, or wear makeup and a hijab.
02:17Sometimes people associate putting on makeup with vanity, but for me, it's an act of self-care.
