00:00The look that I'm doing today was like grown-up goth.
00:03I'm Lydia Pang, Creative Director at Refineer29,
00:06and this is Power Faces.
00:08All the way through my career, it's very much
00:10become my kind of war paint.
00:11I found my niche in big, bold eyebrows and black lipstick,
00:15and just sort of stuck.
00:16It just makes me feel like myself when I have it on.
00:20So now I'm going to start my look.
00:22The first step is foundation.
00:24I usually dot product forehead, nose, chin,
00:26and then on cheeks, and I kind of blend and work it in
00:29with a beauty sponge.
00:31Next step is my power brows.
00:33So I start off with a little pencil, just like filling in the color,
00:36and then I use powder and a little angle-poised brush.
00:39I like it super graphic, and then I do a little point on the end too.
00:43So next up is my eyeliner.
00:44I love to use a liquid eyeliner.
00:46I like to work in from the edge and then work my way in
00:48so that I get a really sharp point.
00:51So next I go for mascara, two coats.
00:53I like a lot on the top and then a little bit on the bottom.
00:55The finishing touch, my favorite part is my lipstick.
00:58I use the liner on the outside to kind of get like the shape,
01:02and then I fill it in with a black lipstick.
01:03And I kind of will press on a tissue to like keep layering it up.
01:06I like it to be super dark, and then I'm good.
01:09This look is my power face because I love the fact that it shows
01:13my aesthetic sensibility and what I'm about.
01:16I feel like women are really reclaiming that medium.
01:18Now I feel like it's very much our tool for self-expression.
01:21Something that used to push us down and make us feel bad about ourselves
01:24is now for us to just like have fun and express exactly who we are.
01:27I don't want to be pretty, I want to be memorable.
