00:01It's quite powerful to see what you cannot usually see.
00:06People would say, well, because you are thin, that's why you do it.
00:10But I think I am not just showing my naked body,
00:14but I'm showing my purest shape of myself
00:17and much, much more, which are my feelings.
00:23My name is Laurita Mazapan.
00:25I'm a Spanish body artist and I represent the inner world of people.
00:32While I'm painting myself, this is like an informal meditation,
00:36which is good for yourself's theme.
00:39You can feel the brushes in your skin
00:42and it's something that I really enjoy.
00:45It's my moment to explore myself, to explore my thoughts,
00:49to reflect about my life.
00:53One of the most important things of my artworks
00:56is that I use it to empower myself.
00:58I wanted to create a mirror where I can see myself
01:01and I can see the strength that I've got
01:05and the power that I've got in that moment.
01:08Every single part of the artwork has a meaning.
01:11Everything that I don't like, I place it down in the belly.
01:15Everything that I like, I place it in the heart.
01:20I use butterflies as a symbol of metamorphosis
01:23and dealing with crises.
01:26I use a kind of flowers that remind me to my mum
01:29and a lot of trees.
01:30For me, the trees are my roots.
01:33My sword is my brush because this is what I use to fight with my reality.
